There are of course many situations where it's standard to fold sets (four-flush boards, partial-straight boards, read-dependant situations against tight players), but...
Is it ever correct to fold a set on the flop?
Please provide hypotheticals. Thanks. |

but is it ever correct to fold a set on the flop? provide examples" |

On the flop? Wow, that would be some really rare situation where you put him on a higher set than yourself, say you're 66 and 90% certain he has AA or KK because of the preflop action, flop comes 6AK and he is giving you strong action. Very theoretical, I don't even think many people would fold. Can't imagine other cases where you could fold easily on the flop, because you can outdraw a straight or a flush. |

Yeah basicly unless it's obvious as hell - don't fold it. |

i used to fold sets to oversets fairly regularly at 5/10 full ring, but ive been running bad, have moved down and the players are far too bad even at 2/4 to do that. so yeah, i would probably almost never fold a set below 3/6 or 5/10 fr, its just a loss of too much equity |

Only makes sense to fold a set if you are very confident you are facing a higher set or a flopped flush/straight and you dont have implied odds to boat up, which you typically do. Therefore dont fold sets. |
