Wow, that's really sick. And the problem is even if you have your account name / password saved so you don't have to type it in, that still isn't safe (at least Stars keeps bugging me about it, and I guess they know...)

One security measure is to type some random mumbojumbo then delete it, type shit again, delete, and only then input your data (that protects against keyloggers at least).

Up to date antispyware is also a must, imo.

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

How does this work? u get it as a file through msn or something? I never accept things from strangers.... can u also get it if u download something from a site? How do u protect yourself from keyloggers?

heres a good post from 2+2 that im going to copy past here to help with ftp accounts getting hacked

Since all the jerks who steal moneys already know how to hack an account, this thread is for you people to learn how to protect yourself.

I know it sounds cool to say "I got hacked", but hacking is a specific term, and most of this is not hacking. There are only six ways for someone to get into your fulltilt account:

1)They hack FTP's database and servers (this is next to impossible. Note, not impossible, but next to. You'll probably have to be on site to do it)

2) Someone working at FullTilt with Database Access (and the decryption key) is using/selling passwords. This is always possible, but very unlikely. Typically only a few people will have access to these files, and they stand to make more money by being legit than they risk by being shady. Although it's unlikely, it's not impossible.

3) You installed a keylogger program (usually done by mistake. When STEALING PT3 or HM on a torrent, the people will make their own installer program that FIRST installs the keylogger, then second installs the program. Unless you have serious anti-virus and firewall protection, you're hooped. NOTE: Norton is not serious, it's crap)

4) Someone physically used your computer with a saved password (or they physically installed a keylogger. Make sure you don't leave your comp out when hosting a party)

5) Someone CRACKED your password (cracking is not the same as hacking). This is difficult, since you only get 5 tries. If someone can guess your password in less than 6 tries, you deserve to be robbed.

6) Someone watched you type your password. Be careful in public peeps.

Unless there is some new technology that no one but these money crooks has heard of yet, these are the only ways for someone to get your password, computer's only do what you tell them to do. Some advice:

Advice on making a strong password: http://www.microsoft.com/protect/you...rd/create.mspx

Secondly, don't use the same password for everything. If you like to keep it simple have three passwords. One for money (your bank and fulltilt account), one for email and other "trust worthy and secure" sources, and a third for third party private sites (like 2+2).

You money password should only be used for sites that have a very good reason to keep all passwords under lock and key. You can be 99.9% sure that no one from the Bank of America is going to steal your online password. This is a highly secure password, don't give it out.

Your emails and whatnot should use another password. You may have to give this password out to someone at somepoint, thus it should be different than your money passwords. Also make it a good one, typically don't use words: p0kerf4n is easier to guess than idD29?lll

Finally third party sites, although I would trust 2+2, there are many other sites out there that are just run by one guy with a server in his basement. You sign up to that site with your email address and a password. If you use the same password for everthing he now has access to your email account, your email account will have records of yoru Full Tilt username... you can see where this is leading to.

Hope this helps guys. I might as well write a blog about this since I just spent 20 min typing it in here. If you have any questions or input, you know what to do.

maybe mods should make their own list and post it in the faq or sticky something but this is becoming a very common problem. and its not newbs who dont have antiviruses or use internet explorer. this is happening to computer handy people.
