Literally everyone in this thread is tying the act of lying about it to me being unreasonable about having a picture taken of me. Even my support lebowski! If it's unreasonable for me to freak out about it, lying is fine, if it's strange but should be respected nonetheless, then lying is bad.
I don't understand this. Yes, it is completely unreasonable to freak out over a picture. However, does that mean it is okay for her to lie to me whenever she thinks it is not a big deal? This is way too much of a loophole out of the whole honesty thing imho.
If she took a picture and then refused to delete it and ran away with the camera, throwing it to a friend of her, making sure that picture never gets deleted, I would be seriously fucking pissed, but at least I would still trust her, and probably even like her more, not less (seeing that she was honest even in the face of me possibly becoming seriously pissed).
Edit: Fuck am I just rationalizing my own unreasonableness here?
I'll let her know that I'm seriously annoyed about it and then let it go, see what happens. |

look man, you have your personal boundaries and lines that people should NOT cross. That means enforcing that line or else you're a piece of shit in her eyes. Shes testing to see if you're serious about those boudaries, to see if you're a real man that won't make an exception for her just because she's cute. If you let this incident slide you're a puss; kiss her goodbye.
If you uphold this line however, she'll respect you even more.
Consider what you're doing here. You're entertaining the thought of rearranging your personal beliefs on the whims of some cute damsel showing interest? Have personal integrity and put her in her place.
Then send me a pm 1 week later with huge thanks when shes all over your dong. peace |

I think were missing a key detail here. The picture taking girl was clearly a ginger. She was probably in fact trying to steal his soul because as we all know gingers don't have souls. |

This is true, she must be a ginger. If you have ever read the goosebumps series book #4 titled 'Say Cheese and Die' then you will know. This is serious. PEOPLE DISAPPEAR! |

Ok here's an example of how you are making a big deal over literally nothing, IE. her wanting to PRESERVE a MOMENT in time where SHE thought you looked cute. LOL
Imagine if you had one of those straws that are bendable and can kinda stretch out near the top. Say you HATED it when you saw the straw fully stretched out as you only liked your straws compacted and in original form. Say you were going to the bathroom and you told the cute girl that you liked to NOT unfold the straw and she says ok she won't do it. Then when you come back you see the straw unfolded. Would you be blogging about how untrustworthy she is? |

^ Fuck yeah. It's unreasonable, so she should never agree to it. However if she does agree to it then she should do as she said. Is it really normal to just lie in such cases? That confuses me so much. |

If you want to find a girl who will never EVER lie or break promises no matter how small they may seem, you will probably never find such girl. |

If I am making a big deal out of something that is not an issue I would like to be told so and even argued with, instead of just ignored / passed-by.
I really do not like the idea of a guilty-free pass to be dishonest whenever you think it's not a big deal. |

Seriously man, you should let it go. You have to understand that sometimes people will trick/lie to you in order to help you out. Parents do this a lot when we are kids to get us to do things outside our comfort zones. Generally it is people that actually care about us that will do these things since only they are interested in improving us. It doesn't sound like she was making fun of you either, so I don't see any malicious intent behind what she was doing. And also, it sounds like this girl is actually interested in you, so this is more like a fist-pump shove. Clearly she cares about you because she wants you to get over this habit of yours. She does not feel guilty/remorse about the act since a) she doesn't realize how big a deal it is to you, and b) she thinks its something you should get over. So yes, maybe you feel shitty that she lied to you, but in the overall picture she's actually trying to help you (which is a good thing). Assuming my analysis of the situation is correct, there is no need to keep your guard up around her. It might happen again where she tricks you in a small way (and I mean really small since this sort of deception is actually trivial and I don't understand how it is a big deal to you) but it is likely for your own good to help you improve. Unfortunately people often misunderstand when a friend/family member tricks them and they don't realize that it is done for their own good. It might lead to a unhappiness/anxiety/frustration in the short-term, but generally will help you improve as a person. You also mention that you would prefer dialogue, and yes it is true that dialogue would be nice. However, dialogue generally isn't as effective at helping people conquer their fears/problems/habits etc., and sometimes they actually need to be pushed (a little forcefully).
In conclusion, the girl is a decent friend/or likes you and is trying to help you. To you, maybe she overstepped her boundary, but to an outsider like me, she was only trying to help and you should be thankful that at least 1 other person actually wants you to improve as a person (unlike the rest of your friends who just think you're being a donk when it comes to pictures).
*There are still small odds that she was just being a bitch, but based on the reads supplied, I think the odds are good that she cares about you and is trying to help.
