well first he isolates 2 donkeys with a cool hand, then he gets odds to call a 4bet, then he gets a free card and makes trips, easy game

idk, how does a fish this big seem to min-4 bet and give him the odds to call...and then to proceed to bitch about it. seriously, well played.

NeillyJQ: I really wanted to prove to myself I could beat NL200, I did over a small sample, and believe Ill be crushing there in the future.

lol odds? i thought you never have odds to call a 4bet no matter how big?

i make my 4bets small i so i can 4bet bluff more often, checked back the flop becoz his usually drawing to 2 outs, and i have 2 streets to get in 1.5 pots of betting, why do i need to bet the flop?

1. Why do you feel the need to 4B-bluff on NL50 and why would that make it better to min4B?
2. You _need_ to bet here even though he is "drawing to 2 outs" since you want to balance your "4B-bluff range" you have, or are you always folding if you dont hit?
3. Never having odds to call no matter what? Since when did you stop caring about the numbers when calculating odds? You always give odds, and alot of people will call with bad/semibad odds. You're giving him ~ 4:1 on his money which is good odds.
Either way, thinking that you have 1.5 streets and he is always drawing to 2 outs is not a good way to think. That would imply that you put him on TT+ (or something) and you'll get value from those anyways. So you're giving him a free chance to draw out on you. (apart from the fact that he is probably calling with alot of FDs pre since you made your 4B so small).
All in all, dont do this and if I were you I'd stop sizeing small because it'll allow you to 4B-bluff. Stop 4B-bluffing, its not an important part of beating NL50.

Villain made a bad call pre.

4bet is slightly small but not terrible.

Bet flop for sure, but not that big.

how is min 4-betting 130 bb deep pre after you've just flatted a 3-bet from another player trapping?

villains play is 100% fine considering hero just made his hand 100% clear. seriously, am i taking crazy pills? his hand is 100% aces or kings here EVERYTIME

Not terrible is actually a bad phrase; it's very close to optimal. I'd probably make it 16 or 17 though.

Why are you guys saying this is bad? Villain just called another $8.50 with 6 high. He definitely does not have odds to call.

hmm, well theres at least one person on every table who 3bets 10%+, so i like to 4bet to bluff

i make it small coz, well, if they're gonna shove, they're shoving no matter what, calling 4bets doesnt happen very often, its usually fold or shove

on the odds issue, assuming he has 2 unpaired cards, im under the impression your not going to flop trips often enough to justify calling

i check behind when i dont hit too, i'm going to try betting small every 4bet pot and see how that works out

thanks for the advice

aces or kings everytime?

i called a LP raise from the button, then 4bet a squeeze, i will do this with any pair > AK, AQ, etc, depending on 3betting tendencies of villian

i don't mind a 4-bet of like 17-18 and a flop bet of like 18-20 but you just managed to play your hand absolutely face up and proceeded to give him the implied odds to get there

flop bet of 18 to leave me 30 bux behind? so u dont want to give him a chance to bluff?

Achoo   Canada. Sep 08 2009 09:09. Posts 1454

Yeah he bluffed u good there :D

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not

staxxx   Bulgaria. Sep 08 2009 09:46. Posts 652

I like how villain played it. Just the 4bet call oop is thin but, if he folded, he could get abused with minraises next times he squeezes (if there are are any thinking players there)
Actually you checking the flop is a bigger mistake.

lol @ pretty much every action each player took in this hand

Anyway, plz tell me what you get more value out of by "trapping" this flop in a 4bet pot?
