I'd want to do this except I don't technically qualify since I'm not regging 1/2. Also, the cost of flying over to Vegas and staying there along with the fact that I'm 20 make it a bit unfortunate.

One of the most important benefits that's overlooked here is that you get to know someone that has connections with other very successful players, and having that sort of relationship is probably really good for your poker game in general.

hrm i think there are different ways of looking at what myth is offering, however there is a lot of players at mid stakes who just can't beat it for a bigger winrate and are 100% fine with agreeing to a deal like this if they can grow. Some players just want to get over that hump and they just hands down cannot do it and are willing to invest money in a coach to achieve it.

fayth,

i have logged less hands online in the past 18 months (in cash games) than most people log in a month. i play live, i play tournaments, i make videos, and i coach. in the 10k hands/mo or so that i play through sweating my students, we destroy the games they are playing.

ket,

tommy angelo coached both krantz and phil galfond earlier in their careers, and it's not a coincidence. he's a fantastic coach but i don't think there is any chance that he would beat games even as low as $5/10 online. he has invaluable information to offer and a great way of conveying how to be a better poker player. you dramatically underestimate both my ability to teach strategy and the total value of my self-management coaching.

jamie217,

profit-sharing deals in the coaching industry are typically conducted at around 30%. i make mine slightly lower and corner an in-between market that i basically have exclusive domain over. i charge what i charge because there is plenty of demand for it and the people who enroll in the program think it's worth it. if you were an auto manufacturer and you could charge $10k for a new car that people loved and were dying to buy, but $2k would be a more "fair" price, would you charge $2k then?

last December, straate and I stayed in the same house in las vegas for a month, and he was around the house for a week of me coaching a new student. he commented that i was probably the best coach for mid and low-stakes and has since referred friends to me for coaching.

if my students weren't succeeding through my coaching, i wouldn't be making any money from them, since they don't pay until they profit.

your students could probably succeed themselves without your coaching, you make it very clear in op with how selective you are when choosing students to take on that have the most potential in poker. taking full credit for their success is pretty lol. and tommy angelo is excellent at doing what he teaches. he doesnt try to teach betting strategy and how to play hands, you do. youre the exact same as pokerzion used to be (though loosefer is actually a very good player now so his coaching in playing strategy has some real worth)
