I was once in an online satan worship cult, it was cool.
Lots of neat things like: what is god spelled backwards?
Dog
what's devil spelled backwards
lived
then the leader starting saying he had special soul powers where he cud leave his body and kill his enemies 100 miles away.
I asked him who are the enemies
he replies
Christians Muslims and Jews
Then I speak my skepticism to his powers and say kill me then if u got special powers and rather die and know then to lice and not know.
And I got banned.

go to churches. they would be fun. i would go to a church and when they start singing and saying can you feel the holy spirit, etc. i would pretend to have a really, really loud orgasm, or act way to happy and make a big scene.
some people would probably be stupid enough to take you seriously others would be grossly offended, some might even realize how ridiculous everything is

he won't be brainwashed unless he is already looking for some sort of redemption or purpose in life. which is most people lol, which is why religion works so well, but if he isn't then nothing they can do will brainwash him.
have fun trolling, bring back souvenirs and post about it please ^ ^
edit: small note, some of these people in select cults have been brainwashed to the point of being hit men for their cults should the need arise, soooo be careful XD

not really, same as soldiers are stone-cold killing machines when they join the army
join a cult > they break you down mentally and physically over a period of time through poor nutrition, lack of sleep, endlessly drilling concepts/beliefs into your head. Once you're at rock bottom, they rebuild you as a cult member.

And if you dont say yes to their demands because you truly believe in them, then they can probably make you say it using fear.

point is people who join the army are there to become soldiers, they embrace it, they are looking to be broken and rebuilt otherwise they wouldn't be there.

Right, but when you arent embracing it and are resisting their efforts to turn you into one of them, and youre essentially the bad apple in the bunch you will serve as an example.
Its going to be a bit like Milgrams experiment
edit: In that you have people blindly following instructions. If theyre instructed to remove the cancer from their new batch of followers youre probably not going to get a "its not working out, thanks for coming though" and a handshake at the door.
Also illegal activity could have big implications
Also if cult leader decides everyone is going to mass suicide, everyone dies.

brainwashing:
A method of systematically altering attitudes and beliefs.
Doesn't this make alot of halucengic drugs brainwash? Because they alter attitudes and beliefs.
Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.
You are confusing breaking somebody's spirit with brain washing.
Like interrogations techniques, lack of sleep, isolation, noise therapies and stuff you can break somebodys mind however a resilient mind in short time after the stress is gone it will take back its regular form.
However after any technique i know nobody will ever make me believe in something i dont right now, like lets say any kind of deity.
Anyone who has had a really really bad LSD trip (or DMT or a strong allucinogen) will taste pretty much a "brain washed" state of mind, it can be really scary and it can cause mental scars but a resilient mind after the trip is gone will get past it.

im not talking about torture but brainwashing, as you said. torture can be used to brainwash though.
i grant you your point is valid, no one could convince you to believe or disbelieve something you have in your head, right now.
but if you were strapped to a chair and had an I V inserted with a chemical that made you feel sick beyond measure and another that gave you pleasure beyond measure, and when you held to your belief you felt as sick as possible and when you gave in you were given pleasure, you would eventually break. there are plenty of methods for breaking someone and rebuilding them
torture just happens to be a useful way to break someone and integrate them.
to brainwash someone you must first break or destroy the foundation on which the belief is held, you must crush the will of the subject to the point it will accept whatever response generates the best result.

That is what is true of how any fundamentalist religious person thinks, and what is the exact opposite of the way any scientist must think.
Scientists pride themselves in their ability to change their minds in light of adequately strong evidence. E.g. "What could disprove evolution? Rabbits in the pre-Cambrian." On the other hand, there is no pre-Cambrian bunny for a fundamentalist or indeed for most religious people. They will continue to believe no matter what counter evidence you supply; that is the very nature of faith, and apparently, the essence of the way you think.
I applaud you for recognizing that arguments from authority hold no weight. However, I think you have erred in (what I perceive as) your reactionary stance that every authority is telling you the opposite of the truth.
