Its poker and you can play your money however you want. If playing like this makes your sessions enjoyable you should continue to do so. But you can't be asking for advice from people who just don't agree with your style fundamentally.
I've joined this forum about 2 months? ago as a pretty terrible player having played about 300k hands 20+tabling nl10 and 25 robotically. I got sick and tired of poker b/c I was barely winning and my play wasn't improving at all. What you're doing is significantly better than what I was doing since at least you're giving yourself a chance to improve as a player.
In a short time of posting and reading stuff on this forum and studying my hand histories, I've improved a lot pretty fast. If you look at my sessions on PTR, I really haven't had a losing day this month and been crushing NL25 and short sample of NL50. In fact, I think I'm on the ultimate grinder list for this month nl25 on Stars and its missing about 200$+ of my winnings.
Look at my graph too lol you can see what's happend since I've joined this forum.
It feels really good to finally see yourself improving as a player along with a pretty significant amount of cash in your BR (alot for me anyways)
It seems like you're a pretty smart person and I want u to feel good about improving fast like I did. If its enjoyment you seek and playing your style gives you that, then you should stick to it. But if you want to be profitable I think its in your best interest to listen to people on this forum. |

Speaking from experience, this style of play just does not work at NL10. The players are far too poor to be able to fold. I feel you are getting way ahead of yourself here.
Playing tight is the easiest and most important step you can take to improving your game. You are over extending yourself in spots where you should be simply folding. Just because someone plays loose does not mean they have to win every single hand they enter. It is one of the greatest fallacy of a lag style. Playing tight is the cornerstone of all good no-limit hold’em play. It’s the rule. Loose is the exception. You have to know the rules backward and forward before you can learn to break them. |

I am a degen. Do not believe in any of my advice.

Sounds to me that if you are asking for advice and getting it from a load of experienced players you should take it rather than having a go at them....... |

NL1K is only ever one drink away......

what is your thought process for hand 2?
if you want to play a lot of hands because you think you can outplay everyone at 10nl i would suggest flatting a lot more hands in position and not go too nuts with the 3-betting. gl |

Flop was easy float for me. Board is really dry and he seems able to get out of line. Turn, if I float and he checks and I pick up a gutter as well, its a standard bet. I Dont have much showdown value. River is probably the closest decision. Again, I have no showdown value anymore. I think I wanted him to fold small pairs and Ace High Floats. Might be bad tho. Had to gulp before river. |

I'll try to flat more instead of 3-betting, probably alot cheaper. |

Yeah, I might come off as contentious. But just so you know, I don't really mean much harm. |

In hand 2 the Th makes the board more coordinated despite giving you extra outs so it would actually not be a good spot to barrel. Players at NL10 are either stations are weak tight thus the #1 thing you should work on is v-betting. Winning lots of pots without showdown is good but it ties in directly with your ability to read hands and interpret board texture, which come along naturally as you play more.
Basically just play ABC and avoid FPS. |
