Wes Andersson owns, and I love bad sci/fi. Good sci/fi too, I guess.

Also, if you havent seen shawshank you really need to see it.

I watched "the road" yesterday, and I found it quite good albeit a bit serious. Dont watch it if you're on a downswing (unless you like to watch other people having it worse than you while downswinging. If so, its a must see after dropping a few BIs).

All of the movies you suggested are good. Revolver with Jason Statham is along the lines of those three you just suggested and is also excellent.

Saying that Grown Up's was bad is probably more you just not liking Adam Sandler or his style of movie. You probably don't like very many of his movies. The movie is basically him getting together the crew of comics he grew up with and making a funny movie based mostly on cracking jokes with the people he grew up with. If you like those comedians you'll probably enjoy the movie and if you don't then it's not for you. Hot Tub Time Machine is exactly the same kind of movie Grown Ups is.

Revolver is decent but feels a bit forced to me.

Adam Sandler isn't my favourite but sometimes he's really good.
