So lets say you analyzed that players 200k hands. You found that over 200k hands in all pots where the player invested 50bb's or more they ran X$ under EV. If they had won their equity in those big pots they would have won at 16ptbb/100 over those 200k hands.
That player described in the above short passage ran:
A) Good
B) Normal
C) Bad
The answer is clearly C. It's a calculation based on math. Win-rate is irrelevant when considering whether someone runs good or bad. If you're winning well below your equity in large pots your running bad. It's just math? |
no, you are wrong, he is running bad on equity however when you are winning at 9ptbb/100 you are running good (getting cards, lucky timing etc), unless you believe his true winrate should be like 20ptbb/100 haha
|
lol yeah if you run at 9 ptbb/100 you likely run superhot actually even if EV shows different. EV graphs are utter bullshit anyway. Sure you might lose a few AA vs KK allin preflop races, but you were lucky in the first place to get a perfect cooler like that. If you're always on the right end of the stick regarding coolers, you're gonna win a shitload more than the few times you lose as a favourite. |

Yeah Baal you're right. He wins at 9ptbb/100 over 200k hands it must be because he gets better cards than his opponents, more timing set-ups in his favour, and less set-ups against him. It couldn't have anything to do with game selection, patience, and the fact that win-rates are considerably higher in HU than they are in 6M or FR. If you're playing opponents who call all your bets regardless of how tight you play you don't need AK vs AQ and an Axx board to take them to value town. Sustaining a 10ptbb/100 win-rate in HU has a lot more to do with game selection than any other factor. Suggesting that this win-rate is only possible when running good is just ignorant.
