Hi all, Im Kevin. I have been playing poker for 7 months. Currently I play 50NL 6max on party and fulltilt.

I am just an old dude who has decided to do all the things I really want to do before I die. I have decided that playing Six-max, No limit Hold'em is going to finance my lifestyle for however many years I have left on this planet.

My situation is setup where I only need to make about $4,000.000 - $5,000.00 a month to accomplish my plans. If I have figured this out correctly, that only requires me to beat three or four tables of No Limit Hold'em, $1/$2, six max for 5PTBB/100 and play about five or six hours a day, twenty to twenty two days a month.

My goal is to learn the game in four phases.

Phase one is to find a systematic, step by step guide to learning the Theories, Principles and Concepts (From now on refered to as TPC) that govern the following areas of the game: Position, Blind Play, Big Pairs, Medium Pairs, Small Pairs, Bluffing, Flop Texture, Post flop aggression, Drawing hands, Pre-flop TPC, Flop TPC, Turn TPC, River TPC and General Post flop TPC.

Phase two is to learn: Interpreting Poker Tracker Stats, Recognizing betting patterns and Playing your opponent.

Phase three is to learn Strategies and Tactics to use against each type of opponent.

Phase four is to meet others who are serious about beating this game and to talk poker with them.

I hope to accomplish this by December, 31, 2007.

I have played poker for one year and I didn't make it until I discovered game theory. Before playing poker, I was a game addicted : Quake, Warcraft II, Magic, Starcraft at Ostelen/Artefac/Akyrion then I moved to Everquest which was a full-time game on Druzzil Ro until the split with the european Server Sebilis (which sucked so much). Then I did a game-break to come back with war3 which was a total disappointment. Farewell to blizzard. I tried Guildwars at its beginning en after reaching top3 guild I retired from video games.

That's naturally I have discovered poker, not only it is a mental game but it is fun as well !

I've started my poker career 1+ years ago with freerolls and various no-deposit offers. Took me lot to learn what BR requirements are plus I did some bad things in the past and by now (hopefully) learned how to play properly and what not to do. Since I have wife, daughter and day job - there's not much time to devote to playing itself which puts me into 'hobbyist' category. My strong ambition is to change this eventually and build myself to the level where $/hour will actually mean something. These days I grind NL10 6max with decent success.

Hey, been a long time lurker but never really posted. Been playing poker for 2-3 years pretty casually at the very low stakes (grinding 4$ 180 mans) although sometimes I get stupid and go up as high as $5/$10 NL...

Always a big fan of starcraft and always like reading up on these forums, though I might as well introduce myself and then go hide back in the shadows lurking your forums again =D

hi, I just started getting into poker this month, I got interested mainly from the Rekrul story on TL, and I found this site after basically all my hours spent on SC are going to be spent on poker instead.

I'm reading "Getting Started in Hold 'Em" by Ed Miller, learning the basics, and playing at the play money tables on PartyPoker ^_^. In a month or two I'm planning on switch over to the the cash games and start out low. Hopefully I find a way to get someone to lend me some money and in return i'll pay them a percentage of my earnings for 3-4 monthes..

goal:be making a decent about per month by 2008 and hopefully I'll be able to quit my part-time job and just focus on poker/school
