Hello, my name is mysterymeat1, i sometimes post a decent amount on TL.net. Wanted to start playing poker. I'm a total newb! If someone could link me to some articles to read and tell me about how i should get started, I would be very happy!

I'm supposed to follow the mma threads in the general forum. Is their a prefered site to practice poker on? And which type of poker should i start playing first?

You can practice on Pokerstars. As for the type of game to play, play all of the poker games offered at Pokerstars until you find one that interests you the most. The most popular poker game is No Limit Holdem, but that doesn't mean it's the best.

Hey guys,

- I've probably visited this site every day for 7 or 8 years, never made a post though.
- I am 30 yrs old, married with a 2 year old daughter and another baby on the way in 2 months.
- My friend and I are starting a fantasy sports game, and I might create a poll for the community on a very small issue, related to poker. I may start a blog regarding the startup, only if people seem interested though, or maybe blog about other general life stuff.
- I played a lot online back in 2006-2008, mostly mid stakes, won a bunch of money, considered grinding for a living but my (future) wife was not really fond of that idea, so I never went that route. Instead I forced myself to graduate and got an accounting job. Accounting is a super exciting field, let me tell you.
- I have been playing a lot of live PLO at my local casino lately, mostly 1/2/5 and 5/5, and sat once at 5/10 (which didn't go well). I have been going as much as possible the last couple months, because pretty soon, with the second baby and the (potential) launch of our fantasy game, I won't be able to go very often. I read hand histories all the time on here and 2+2, and I may start posting some interesting ones from my live sessions.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. Been a lot of fun visiting this site every day for the last 7 or 8 years.

Yeah my job is pretty boring, so I always check at least a couple times a day during the week.
Lost a couple buyins playing last night. I don't want to come on here and post bad beats, but these I think are entertaining:

Hand 1:
I raise with KK57, one suit. Two callers.
Flop is AK8, two clubs. I pot ($45). One caller who only has $52 behind after the call.
Turn is Tx. I put him all in for $52. He calls.
River is 7x. He says he has the nuts. And turns over 6698, no clubs.
Haha.

Hand 2:
I minraise UTG to $10 with 7766 double suited. Guy behind me calls, next guy makes it 45, 3 other callers, I call, guy behind me calls. Pot is 230.
Flop is 752 rainbow. I pot. Only guy that calls is the one who raised to 50 preflop, he called all in for like 185.
Turn is 4, River is blank.
He shows AKJ3, no suits.
Haha.

Where is the page where a new member introduced themselves and tutz replied to him saying to follow his blog or something and then byrne posted a photo of tutz saying something like the matrix but a funny one? I can't seem to find it.

Hello all the members of LiquidPoker. I am newbie to poker and know a few rules in poker. To learn the fundamentals of poker properly I am watching some videos from youtube. I have purchased some poker software also like Note Caddy, Ace Poker Drills etc. Leak Buster and it's videos has helped me a lot to improve my poker game. I need more help from the expert poker players from here.

Welcome to LiquidPoker (LP). There's plenty of people who can help you with your questions in the various stakes sections. I'd suggest reading through some of the old threads so you can see if your questions have already been answered. Also, it's a good idea to start posting some of the poker hands that you are unsure about, in the "Hands" section of the website, which is located on the right side of the page.

I have a few hands converted by poker training software leak buster to post in this forum to start discussion with the experts to get some new tips from the poker experts. But I am not able to post those hand histories. Would you please help me how can I post them in LP forum?
