Poll: Timebank hollywooding, do you ever?
(Vote): Almost always, because I'm afraid of giving away timing tells
(Vote): Never
(Vote): Sometimes fold after some TIME to disguise my failed bluff
(Vote): Preflop always time down a little before I 5bet shovel my AA/KK
(Vote): Only against other LPers because I think they're always bluffing me!
(Vote): I have a system where I always time down exactly 3 seconds whenever the pot is >= 25bb

Do you ever use your timebank to hollywood (a little) while you actually already know that you're going to fold/call/raise/shove/whatever?

I've added the "i have a system" option because I've been thinking about that a lot, but I'm just to lazy+forgetful to actually do that

lol shit how do I add an option to the poll

to the people that don't want their hand to look like air: you really prefer people thinking you fold big hands over people thinking you (3bet) bluff some of the time? (preflop 3bet/4bet is a spot I see this in a LOT)

Whenever there are actions left for my opponent to take in the hand I make an effort not to give away timing tells. If Im folding or villain is allready all-in I dont pretend to think about what to do.

I hate it when people timebank after having their 4bet shoved on, whatever they do. It's so annoying.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

Timebanking is standard, real players hit standby on their cable modem

Its just a must to both disguise hands and to protect hands that require thought.

ya, i used to do this a long time ago. Then a realized if i was ever doing it for value i would be snap calling. So now I snap fold when someone soul pwns me.

I sorta randomize my timings. Usually In big pots I don't insta do anything. Although vs some people insta shoving bluffs helps a lot ;D

i have no problem with balancing your timing on plays.

one thing that pisses me off is regs timebank folding to 5bet shoves. i might be wrong on this but when you 4bet arnt you always aware of how you are reacting to a 5bet? you either insta fold because everyone knows you were 4bet bluffing or you snap cuz you 4bet with a value hand that you think is ahead of villians 5bet shoving range.

if you are 4betting value hands then folding that is fucking awful.

Hey Im slinging mad volume and fat stackin benjies I dont got time for spellin n shit - skinny pete

vltava   United States. Oct 12 2010 17:50. Posts 1742

I probably should timebank balance more. Sometimes I think about a decision, then realize that I've already narrowed my range for villain by thinking, and I have to fold, but if I were more balanced then that wouldn't be such a concern.

tooker: there is very little money in stts.

the problem with balancing is a lot of the time villain's isn't gonna know you're balancing, so you might as well just bank only when your percieved range being narrower benefits you.

fucking this

Also I can't really timebank anything when I'm playing 16+ 6max tables, so I just act fast on everything.

Reni   United States. Oct 13 2010 05:37. Posts 3

i think like 95% of the time you really don't need to think more than 5-6 sec on a hand. Also if you multitable 8+ those 5-6 sec pauses tend to increase and create semi-random intervals.

basically just don't make habits like snap-calling/raising with monsters or delaying marginal hands and you should do fine.

I don't understand, a lot of the time I timebank or nearly timebank due to thinking before I bet for thin value but apparently timebanking makes my perceived range more narrow..? What are people's general assumptions when they see a slow bet
