why?

Because spreading the thought that Autism is caused by vaccinations is not only ignorant, it is an extremely dangerous comment that could cause some parents to not vaccinate their children because they are afraid of giving their child Autism

you know Cathac, the reality is you shouldn't ever spread the insinuating blind faith blanket-type statement you just made about vaccinations

please cease transmitting such innuendos upon others immediately
and forever

we could go back and forth on this all day but such a discussion is not nor was not my intent
I just asked a curiosity question that I made sure to put in bold for ppl such as yourself (to hopefully see and digest towards it being my actual intent)
This is true because regardless the answer given to me, my views on one size fits all vaccinations were not going to change either way so I had no intention, want or need of discussing it further
(it really was mere curiosity)

but since you took it further in an assumption about me that is actually correct, I will go ahead and post what I consider the bottom lines of defense in this debate and hopefully through at least your understanding of allowing a view other than yours, I can be done

the bottom line to you is:
in a worse case scenario - if I had to pick between fEaR making someone get informed vs someone being just plain uninformed, guess which I'd pick?

my own bottom line:
in a free society there should never be any such thing as forced vaccinations in existence and until the end of time I will oppose such measures

the bottom line in the overall vaccination debate is:
if vaccines are truly so effective, then how & why do un-vaccinated persons pose any threat whatsoever to the vaccinated?

The probability of someone watching you is proportional to the stupidity of your action.

Whooping cough, measles, mumps, POLIO, the list goes on

The list goes on to what vaccines prevent. You know a lot of these are contagious as well. You know why childhood mortality rate is WAY higher than in the past? Vaccines

When someone like Jenny McCarthy goes out and spreads her story about an old article, that has been retracted btw, that states vaccines cause autism is not only downright dangerous, but it is impeccably irresponsible. Some parents uninformed on the area might see what she is doing, not hear the other side of the story, and choose to not vaccinate her child. Their child may die because of it. I do not want their child to die.

So you take a risk of many many diseases your child may catch because of the theory, that is overwhelmingly refuted by the medical community, that your child MAY catch autism, all because a slight percentage increase of autism around the time of vaccinations increasing. Correlation does not imply causation my friend

And I am all for spreading knowledge, as long as it is not ill-informed and dangerous opinions that people are trying to disguise as information

I didn't 'spread' any opinion either way until u laid out your predisposed bit about me to which I felt I had to clarify where you were correct - now I feel I gotta clarify where I feel you are incorrect:

- one or a million good vaccines of the past does not insure the next vaccine of the future to be healthy for humankind
- external technology and/or increased standards of living can play just as big a hand in lowering the infected rate as vaccines. An example of this would be plumbing and waste removal in dealing with polio
- I never ever stated or will ever state I am against all vaccinations and being military is the only proof I can offer to attest to this
- I ask ppl at a pretty high ratio if they have had their kids vaccinated. I do not just limit my asking to ppl on forums who mention their kids having autism (which is indeed a disorder that is dramatically on the rise in the US, wouldn't you agree?)
- someone asking another if they had their kid - with or without autism - vaccinated is not something you should try to expel from reality

medicine is not a wrapped up field of pure heaven - being critical of the industry can save lives too
