its a shame that the fight against monson could be the last fight of fedor's career. such a disappointment, i wish we were considering fights such as fedor-dos santos or fedor-velasquez.
shogun-hendo will be pretty damn good, really looking forward to that one.

Gustafsson vs. Matyushenko rebooked for UFC 141 in December.

On a side note, Akira (Swedish guy on TUF 14) made it into the house. He doesn't look tough enough to win this season, but at least he made it into the house. |

I started college on September 26th, so I've been busy and it will only get busier. I'll update this thread with less items and stick to the big topics instead of updating daily like I was doing.
Feel free to post MMA news if you see any, which is what this thread was meant for.

- The Reem season 2 - Episode 6 - California Dreaming.

- Tim Sylvia vs. Pedro Rizzo and Andre Arlovski vs. Travis Fulton headline ProElite 2. Also, and eight-man Heavyweight tourney on tap.

Lyoto Machida's path to the title:
- Lose 2 fights in a row to two old school fighters with an old fighting style, which they continue to use and refuse to adapt to new fighting styles.
- Win 1 fight against the oldest fighter in the UFC who was on his way out the door anyway, via "jumping front kick" to the face, which the old man wouldn't have been able to block in his prime.
- Wait around for 5+ months after your last fight in hopes you will be able to replace someone in a title match since you know that your boss knows you're top 5 in the division, and your name will be one of the first to come up as a replacement.
- Jon Jones fought in March, Lyoto fought in April, Lyoto knew Jones would have another match before he would and could possibly lose the match, which means Lyoto would get to fight an easier opponent, probably one he beat already, or his opponent would get injured and Lyoto could step in.
Anyone remember Lyoto ever getting injured while in the UFC? Bad enough to make him step away from a fight. As far as I know, he never gets majorly hurt and was the technician before he got figured out, similar to where Jon Jones is at right now. |

This is a bet even at -800 seriously, machida has 0 outs, he is a elusive counter striker facing Dhalshim, how on earth is machida ever going to win this? impossible.
It would be interesting if he sees this and goes crazy trying to legkick him to death, but if he doesnt he is simply toast, he has the least chance of winning in the entire division imo |

- UFC champ Georges St-Pierre out of UFC 137 due to knee injury, Nick Diaz vs. B.J. Penn named new headliner. Even though Diaz/Penn is the headliner, Dana White said it will still be a 3 round fight. Diaz's camp said he is okay with a 5 round fight, so it's up to Penn to agree.
- Carlos Condit is going to wait for GSP to get better instead of fight someone else. |

What I want to know is, why did they promote Tavares vs. Jacoby to the main card, and leave Siver vs. Cerrone on the SpikeTV card. Both Siver/Cerrone will "bring it", so I don't see how they didn't get their fight promoted. Siver is on 4 win streak and Cerrone is on a 5 win streak. Siver is known for his standup and while the commentators always talk about Cerrone's standup, 12 of his 16 wins come by submission.
Main Card
BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz
Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione
Mirko Filipović vs. Roy Nelson
Brad Tavares vs. Dustin Jacoby
Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop
Preliminary card (Spike TV)
Dennis Siver vs. Donald Cerrone
Tyson Griffin vs. Bart Palaszewski

I'm with you on this, I find it weird that vegas lines don't put more fights in the -600 or more range. I mean, it surprises me that Anderson wasnt like -2000 vs Yushin Okami. You mean to tell me Okami had more than 5% chance in that fight? O_O |

My thinking is to promote the PPV? I don't think anyone would specifically buy the PPV to see either bout (so there won't be lost sales by either being on Spike) so may as well have the 'higher chance of being a good fight' on Spike to draw people in. |

If a main card fight gets cancelled, they leave the spike prelims as-is and move a fight from the undercard to the main card. This is what they've done the last couple times. |

man, too bad GSP got injured. The card was pretty interesting but without his fight it doesn't look nearly as good. There are still some cool fights left, obviously, but it's still disappointing. |

Wasn't really interested in GSP wrestlefucking Condit for 5 rounds so much anyways. Way more excited about the Diaz vs Penn. Could easily be the fight of the year imo... Funny how things just worked out for the best for Diaz. Siver vs Cerrone looks good too |

o yea.. how do you guys think the betting lines will be if Silva vs Sonnen 2 happens. If Sonnen gets +200 or something, I think I'd want to put a lot of money on him. |
