even if you think Jones has a edge, saying that he would destroy Silva is wrong
two weight classes above him? the same way Jones cut from HW, Anderson cuts from LHW, thats one weight class, and considering the fight will be at catchweight, i don't think Jones willl be that much bigger
Silva has better chin, power, striking and BJJ
Jones is bigger, has better wrestling and gnp
Silva guard is pretty sick and apparently he got rubber skin and won't get cut, so even with Jones on top of him, it's not like it's over .. and that's the only way i can see Jones winning the fight .. on top and winning via decision, but i think Silva can finish

I think they are quite even, If Jones pays anything better than +150 ill bet on Silva.
Jones has improved his striking but its nowhere near Silva's it isnt even close Silva would murder him in a kickboxing match but obv Greg Jackson knows this and he will coach Jones to take Silva down, which is easier said than done.
Silva's TD defense is superb and he has fought wrestlers as skilled as Jones (not as big and strong though) however Belfort showed what we all already knew, that Jones is susceptible to submissions with those long limbs.
Also Silva has a granite chin and leather skin which means Jones cant just lay safely on top sneaking elbows like he did with Belfort, if he wants to cause damage on Silva he will have to put some power on those creating more space for submissions.

Silva is by no means a big LHW, he has a long torso and lanky built with a huge head - that's it. Jones has a small and muscular torso and is built like a male spider. Add some weight to those legs and arms and you've got a 6'5 HW monster. It's almost two weight classes if you ask me.
Silva is definitely more well rounded but yeah those fucking giant elbows ... i really hope Silva can keep him at bay.

I'd put money on Silva > Jones, if the fight ever happened.
Although good fighters usually upgrade their skill between fights, think of the Jon Jones fights that you've watched.
Think for a second...
Keep thinking...
Okay, good.
Now you have a good idea of the moves that Jones does, because he uses them all in almost every fight.
- The front/side kicks to his opponents knees.
- Telegraphed spinning elbows and kicks. (originally weren't telegraphed, now people expect and see it coming.)
- Arms out to keep you at the end of his reach. In his past 2+ fights he's been grabbing his opponents hands to keep them still and land an elbow-jab.
- Heavy, more so skinny and sharp, elbows being dropped down when he is on top of his opponent.
----------
Anderson has better speed/more power/better striking/better BJJ, than Jones. He doesn't get cut easily, but that's also because he doesn't get hit that much, aside from his first fight against Sonnen.
Jones has the reach advantage and wrestling advantage over Anderson.
----------
When was the last time you've said:
- Damn, Jon Jones boxed the shit out of (insert name here)
- Damn, Jon Jones showed some impressive muy thai/kickboxing skills in that fight.
- Damn, look at the speed of Jon Jones movement, it's impressive.
Most people on this board at least, already know that Jones due to his reach advantage. Yes, he does have skill, and he is getting better with every fight, but, he wouldn't be running through people if he were the average height at Light Heavyweight.
The real question is this: If Jones was 6'2, with a 78 inch reach. Would you still think he could beat Anderson?
Knowing how Anderson studies his opponents before the fight as well as in the fight should let you know that once Anderson gets used to fighting against the long reach, he wont be touched in the fight against Jones.

- Jose Aldo faces Frankie Edgar on Super Bowl weekend (February 2nd) at UFC 156 in Las Vegas.
- Chris Weidman loses his house on the East Coast, due to Hurricane Sandy. (I personally think he wont have flood/hurricane insurance, probably just the basic insurance needed to own the home.)
- Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum are set as TUF Brasil 2 Coaches.
- Cub Swanson asks for Korean Zombie, Sean Shelby shuts him down. (Both fighters are on a 3 fight win streak. Shelby is probably preparing them both for the next title shots.)
- Matt Riddle vs. Besam Yousef booked for UFC 154 with 'Wonderboy' Stephen Thompson injured.
- Bryan Caraway in for injured T.J. Dillashaw, faces Mike Easton at UFC on FOX 5.
- Double KO in a Polish MMA fight, followed by "We are the Champions." + Show Spoiler +

How many times have we heard guarantee's from dana white though?
With the sport being so touch and go - I think it's somewhat rare that they are kept. I'm sure he absolutely means it at the moment - but could be totally different in a year or so.

Dana's promises, guarantees, and his word, aren't worth much nowadays.
He just FINALLY admitted to Fedor being one of the greatest heavyweights ever, but then he had to take a jab and say: “Is he one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time? You’re out of your minds.”
The best way to tell if a rumor is true, is when Dana wont deny it, or he'll speak out and simply not say no.
If it's a rumor totally false, he'll be quick to respond to reporters saying that it's 100% false.
An example of this can be seen when the recent rumor of Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort match was leaked. Dana said the fight hasn't been made yet, but they were going to talk about it somewhere down the line. In other words, they're just waiting to finalize the contracts.

According to sherdog and wikipedia Indian Heavyweight kickboxer Singh "Hearth" Jaideep will make his first MMA appearance on November 23 during SFL 10. He has a 54-16 Kickboxing record, is 25 years old and has a win in kickboxing over Sergei Kharitonov. If he gets some reasonable TDD and/or grappling he could be a fairly decent fighter. With a few wins in SFL and some good match ups (Pat Berry, Lavar Johnson and other strikers with very limited ground games) he could be a fairly big piece in getting UFC into India.

^ He has the perfect body type to get raped in MMA by any wrestler. (Thin and tall)
Hopefully his boxing got better since the fight vs. Kharitonov. He had nice low kicks, but I didn't like his hands.
The good thing for Jaideep is, there's nobody in India to challenge him in MMA at Heavyweight, so he'll help MMA grow over there while collecting checks for fighting shitty fighters.
If he ever fights outside of India, he should fight Alexander Volkov in MMA. Volkov is 6'7, 225 pounds or so, and is stand-up only.

He's 225 pounds, and to cut to 170, that would be 30... Fuck, 55 pounds." + Show Spoiler +
