Not a huge fan of stuff like that. Sadly it works because I will probably end up being more hyped for the fight.

I can't decide if we're being sold wolf tickets or if it's legit. The brawl looked real enough though.
I personally like stuff like this, because for both men it puts more on the line than just the title, it puts pride and ego on the line too. I mean losing to a guy who's been talking shit for so long is far more devastating than losing to a humble, respectful nice guy.
Sometimes this backfires though as both guys fight not to lose which sucks.

I think that can all be true and I still dislike it. I do look forward to the fight but just because there is a positive that comes out of it that does not justify the method (for me). I just find it a poor example to set for fighters, kids, fans and really anyone who watches these guys. Much prefer the with great power comes great responsibility spiderman quotes.

I hear what you are saying but to me, it's great. More on the line, more casuals = more fun for the fights. The ends justify the means in this instance for me. And psychologically, the reason casuals care is because they get to live vicariously through these two beasts - it's like the high school fights that they never got in, etc. You pick a side, and you really care more.

Its beyond pathetic, how long has the UFC tried to peddle the athletes crap and as they get on stage and act like stupid rabid animals, if I were the athletic commission or UFC I would put massive fines for this kind of behavior, its disgraceful for sports fighting and all athletes of all disciplines.
To me it doesnt pump me up on the contrary it just makes me yearn for a champion of Fedors caliber

lol the nfl/nba/mlb is filled with passed murderers, rapists, shooting guns in clubs, fighting, dog fighting, wife beating, drunk driving, and basically anything else bad you could think of.
I don't think a scuffle makes our sport look bad relatively.
I personally appreciate both approaches. The humble respectful approach is nice, but I also like the super hyped I can't wait to tear your face off and curb stomp you approach either. As been said, it's a fight. It's not bjj or karate or some game where you try to put a ball in a hole. There are extremely high levels of emotions involved.

Last time someone tried to provoke JBJ and talked loads of shit he ended up getting TKOed in the first round although Jones had a broken foot finger. Guy's work ethics are really strong i guess. Kind of retarded by Cormier to just push him like that, super unprofessional... Silva and Weidman touched lips and shit didnt escalate that much .... JBJ shouldnt have chased him as well, he just lost the upper hand falling for a primitive provocation
I was kind of excited for this fight, up to the point i saw them standing face to face... Jones is just waaaaaaaaaay too big for Cormier. And its not like Cormier is better than him in anything, theoretically should be the better grappler, but when you put the height and reach difference in the equation its another story
I bet Dana White peed his pants out of joy when he saw what happened though, this fight s gonna be huge @ sales. And yeah Baal i feel the same way except if they want to put their faces against each other let em do it, if you start fighting however fine their asses
And also what the fuck is going on with fighters, Shannon Bricks went to Klitschko's gym the other day and tried to fight him rofl

Yeah and ive spoken against those sports too, its pathetic and they are the perfect example of unsportsmanship (and football and hockey), maybe I just have unrealistic standards of professionalism for athletes but come on, especially in combat sports that are very closely scrutinized about violence, they are the best of the world fighting other great athletes, how about a little respect for your fellow fighter

To be the best of the best you have to incorporate some "whatever it takes" mentality. Nice guy? Fuck you, i want it more. Points are scored by being agressive, so it is no surprise the ones who are naturally agressive for whatever reasons do well. And when you have some achievements under your belt your ego becomes inflated and when that status of being the baddest motherfucker gets threatened all hell breaks loose. That being said it is no excuse. Take rugby for example, that game is super disciplined yet agressive. It can be done but let's be honest, most want some bloodshed, a good vs evil matchup or w/e.

Get off your high horse and just enjoy some good old fashioned beef with an actual fight at the end of it. WTF is so wrong with that. Nobody dies, and millions of people get to enjoy the moment more. Bad for the sport my ass.

mma biggest hinder has been accusations of it being too violent, so watching fighters brawl like idiots before the fight doesnt help and pretty much everyone in MMA agrees.
If you want to watch a beef go watch some youtube videos of random drunk people, I want to see a professional fight between two mixed martial artits

Are you kidding me? Accusations of it being too violent being its biggest hindrance? Do you really believe that people who would buy that non-sense are the target audience, AT ALL? Your logic is so flawed. If anything, the prospect of something being too violent brings in 'awe' from the potential 'just bleed' fans. The only way that hinders them is with getting licensed in NY, which is just a thinly veiled excuse for the politicians and unions there anyway. I understand that you personally prefer good old fashioned clean competition, but don't mistake that for being the mainstream view among fight fans, because you are dead wrong.
