Overeem vs Struve...
If Overeem opens anywhere close to being the favorite here, will be withdrawing all the savings, take all the chip i have and place it on Struve.
I don't want to see Struve against Reem. I fear a knee to the body will somehow damage his already damaged heart.
I actually don't want to see Struve fight again, period.
Puerto Rican, the man who delivers all of the leg-work so we can enjoy our MMA debates and conversations, just revealed his heart of gold.
I feel for Struve for sure and root for him, but he's a grown-ass man and has worked his life to do this, I'd love to see him overcome his physical and mental handicaps and do some jaw-dropping stuff, no pun intended.

Get ready to place your bet because I absolutely guarantee he'll be the favorite.

Seeing Struve cry like a little baby in the locker room after he pulled out of the Mitrione fight made me feel bad for him. Even though the doctors will clear him to fight, I consider him damaged goods at this point, especially since he was one of the most easy-to-hit heavyweights prior to his heart surgery. Struve being easy to hit has stopped him from climbing the UFC ranks.

Wanderlei Silva retires from MMA, but not before giving his opinion on the UFC.

"Chris Weidman's broken hand postpones Vitor Belfort fight; Hendricks vs. Lawler II now headlines UFC 181"
Ariel Helwani: Dana White just confirmed to me that Chris Weidman had to pull out of UFC 181 and the Belfort-Weidman fight has now been moved to February 2015.
----------
The 3 main fights are:
Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler (Welterweight Championship)
Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez (Lightweight Championship)
Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub
wow nice card still. Man Dana must be going nuts with all these sudden changes

- Cung Le tests positive for HGH following UFC Fight Night: Macau, suspended for nine months.
PEDs - 3, Michael Bisping - 1
- Charles Oliveira vs. Jeremy Stephens booked for TUF 20 Finale co-main event.
- Neil Seery meets Richie Vaculik at UFC Fight Night 55 in Sydney.
- 53-fight veteran John Gunderson withdraws from Bellator 128, retires from MMA. (If I can only train 2 hours per day and not make a lot of money, it's not worth it for me to keep fighting.)
- Sean McCorkle retires from MMA. During his retirement, he had this to say: "Believe it or not, despite my current streak, I'm actually going to be stepping down from being a fighter. It's probably one of the worst professions of all time. Yeah, I'm going to be retiring from MMA, not that anyone cares because I've only fought once in the last year."

why not just suspend for a year or more and let them pay heavy penalties

I read a recent article that said Cung Le is suspended for a year. Either way, I don't think it matters much. Cung Le barely fights much anyway, and given his age (42), and given that the fight was in Asia, I wouldn't be surprised if he retired sometime in 2015 (I think he was trying to go out with a bang, even if it meant getting busted after for illegal substances). If he doesn't retire, the UFC will probably still use him for PR over in Asia during his suspension (just a guess).
Cung Le will be 43.5 years old by the time the 1-year suspension is up.

If anyone is looking for any good bets and wants to take advantage of an insane line, Chad Mendes is +300 on sportbet vs Aldo right now. That's lunacy. Aldo should be a slight favorite at best at this point, Brazil or not.
Edit: Case and point, it moved to +250 within a couple hours of that. I guess it opened at +150 (which seems right) and someone put HUGE money on Aldo propelling it to +330, now its back down to +250. I'd stay place a fat bet on anything over +185.

Cub Swanson isn't a big name? And that's when he was greener than the finest pot in California. The 5 round argument is bad as Aldo fades over 5 worse than most. You have to look at trends and career trajectory. I slightly favor Aldo but SLIGHTLY. Odds are now all the way back down to +220. They'll probably end at around +175 where they opened. Edit: Opened at +150.

If Aldo gets injured again before his fight, they'll have to cancel the card again since it's so weak without the main event.
