Pettis vs Barboza added to Jones/Cormier card. Really good card made better. And great time for those of us burned by Pettis to double down on him for a fun sweat

Haha, I know you were thinking of me baby.
Interesting matchup because it's a great style match-up for both guys - both like to throw at range at a steady slowish pace and are probably the 2 best LW in the world at that type of striking affair, and neither like to trade hands in the pocket where they have to worry about wrestling + their boxing isn't elite. I like Pettis again in this one primarily because he is more durable, more dangerous if it hit's the mat, and most importantly can take advantage of smaller openings with his striking diversity. I wouldn't bet Pettis as a big favorite though. No faith in his confidence and overall fight IQ anymore.
Technically speaking, I think the liability for Pettis is that Barboza's low kicks are IMO the hardest on the planet P4P, and usually he's hesitant to throw them vs the top tier pressure wrestle/boxer's he's gone against but that wouldn't be an issue for him here. If he lands a couple of those early, the game could change. I also think Duke Rufus is a shitty coach and Edson, while losing, has improved greatly with the Edgar/Almeida team.
Probably do some kind of Pettis No-Scorecards prop.

No way they pull Conor off the card.
He will fight for interim belt against Cerrone or Diaz, imo.

if that's true then I really think the pressure is too much for him to take. say goodbye to that belt soon if he falls into that trap Aldo fell into
I really felt he had a bigger chance of winning but this development would really speak volumes on how a fight vs conor can really fuck u up before you even fight the guy.

I mean he broke his foot. Not like there's much you can do about it.
That said, I believe Conor was gonna melt him. He didn't look at all the same vs Cerrone, Cerrone just looked didn't show up and can't handle pressure himself worth shit.
We will never see the RDA that beat Benson and Pettis again.
Fucking idiot ruined his 1 big payday training like a dumb-ass, gl getting it back.
Since they are gonna give Conor a soft-ball, I think Alvarez is owed an ass-whooping by the MMA gods since Pettis didn't follow their commands. Or if Frankie wants to come up and fight at 55 - why the fuck not - he absolutely deserves that choice.

Conor versus either Cerrone or Diaz for an interim belt doesn't make sense.
Aldo said he isn't in-shape to fight a 5-round fight against Conor, even though he previously said he'd fight Conor any place any time.
Ferguson said he'll fight Conor.
Edgar is dealing with an injury, so he can't fight on 11-days notice.
Cerrone's manager says he's asked for it. He weighs 174. Would "get down as much as he could." That's one option.
Kevin Iole (MMA media): I was told that @TeamKhabib offered to replace @RdosAnjosMMA and @UFC said no.
Urijah Faber just posted a picture of his body and himself on a scale weighing 158 pounds. He said he's ready if the UFC needs him to step up.

I think its the best choice. Safe for Conor. Entertaining for the fans. And even tho Conor should win, Diaz probably will put up a fight.
james9994: make note dont play against floofy, ;(

That d be a stupid fight and Diaz doesn't exactly deserve it, Cerrone or Alvarez make much more sense
Faber will most definitely not get the fight either
And ofc they d not give it to Khabib considering he could potentially destroy their superstar and I'm guessing he s already in camp for his fight too so he ll be in great shape
I wonder if McGregor himself will do it, as he has nothing to prove anymore and could just withdraw from this, however considering his image he ll most definitely fight, if there s a decent match up. Ferguson does seem like a legit chance too, but telling No to Khabib and Yes to him would just show that the UFC only thinks about money and would disappoint fans.
Overall I think if anyone gets the fight it will be Cerrone, as he s a decent name to build the match up around in such a short notice and they could still get a huge gate/PPV, because of it, plus as soberstone pointed out Cerrone will break under pressure, otherwise his style would be a bit tough for McGregor and might be a great fight. I just hope sober s wrong and they don't give it to Alvarez, cause the fight will probably last around the time Alvarez goes for a TD attempt and gets KOed. Might be a bit biased, but Alvarez's wrestling seems way too overrated
P.S. The only thing Diaz brothers put up is thrash talk, nothing else, they both get rekt the second they get a big fight, but at least they survive though
