- After almost 2 years of being put on the back burner of the UFC due to injuries and an abnormality found in a brain scan, Tim Credeur makes his return to MMA this Saturday versus Ed Herman at UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale". In Fall 2011, an MMA documentary titled "Fightville" will be released, which partially focuses on Tim Credeur and Dustin Poirier before they made it to the big show. (video trailer can be found below)
- According to a report from ESPN, Fedor Emelianenko is set to haul in $1.5 million for his fight against Dan Henderson, who will take home a cool $800,000. The bout is set to air live on Showtime at the upcoming July 30 Strikeforce event emanating from the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
- Strikeforce finally will air preliminary events! Well, just for their Fedor vs. Henderson card so far. HDNet will be airing 5 Strikeforce preliminary fights live, followed by the Fedor vs. Henderson main card on Showtime. This is a big step for Strikeforce that shouldn't have had to take so long, but better late than never. http://www.strikeforce.com/news/2011/...son-superfight-in-chicago-on-july-30/

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. They also do not include portions of the pay-per-view revenue that some top-level fighters receive.
For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $70,000 UFC 130 bonuses to Browne ("KO of the Night"), Tibau ("Submission of the Night"), and Stann and Santiago ("Fight of the Night").
In other words, the above figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.
- John Ott was owned for 3 rounds by Jake Rosholt at Titan Fighting Championship 18 this past weekend, luckily for Ott, Rosholt accidentally hit Ott with an illegal knee when he was almost all the way off the mat, which then the match was declared a DQ win for Ott after Jake had won every round decisively. Pellegrino said if he hasn't returned by January 1st, 2012, he will retire. The reason? A very good one, he wants to put all of his time on his family and running his own training center which has around 300 students.

- Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz on September 17th, 2011. The fight will be for Ortiz's WBC world championship. Ortiz, who is 10 years younger than his opponent, it will be Mayweather's first challenger in 16 months."
(As you remember, Victor Ortiz is that kid who recently beat Andre Berto and won the WBC belt. Mayweather is obviously picking his opponents wisely, Ortiz is a good young fighter and has a belt and is a credible fighter, but Mayweather will destroy him. This fight will show Mayweather is still skilled and can beat any top fighter without having to fight Pacquiao.)

An MMA organization called 'One Fighting Championship' is starting in Asia, and it appears to have some massive money backing them. The organization has one goal: to dominate MMA in Asia and they will have their first event on September 3rd in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Expect a lot of your favorite Japanese fighters to make the transition to this new organization. Remember where you heard it first.

It seemed as if Showtime put up a good fight to prevent Diaz from vacating his belt and signing with the UFC, but within the undisclosed deal (and I really wish I knew what it was), it benefited both parties.
