it would be really crazy if Hendo becomes champ :O
yeah bisping is still the same dude 7 years ago, he just fought opponents in shit form. #steroidfree
Silva beat his ass, then got lucky vs Rockhold.
Hendo got beat twice by TRTitor Belfor , who didn't?
Beat Shogun and Boestch,
Last fight he smashed Lombard? He looked pretty damn impressive there (granting he was clean)
Not saying Bisping sucks, it's just that the middleweight belt now has no name on it. If the lines were any wider, I'd bet a decent amount on Hendo.

How was his win against Rockhold lucky? Or is taking advantage of weak points now somehow called luck? Rockhold overestimated himself , thats all
Its a bit like if a really good SC2 player gets beaten by a weaker player.
Lets assume the weaker player wins 20% of the time.
If he wins, the weaker player wasn't "lucky". He probably did play really well and outplayed the other guy. But if they play together only 1 game, at a time that really matters for a major tournament, and the weaker guy does win, then that's kinda lucky.
I'd say same thing happened to Bisping here. He clearly did a good job. If you rewatch the fight, he did outplay Rockhold. But if this fight happened 100 times, he wins maybe only 20% or something (hard to say).

Of course he was lucky in the sense that rockhold wins 9/10 fights, how you fail to see variance as a poker player is a bit unsettling

I don't see how variance in poker relates to human sport contest outcomes. This is not mathematically coin flipping equations. I am too tired to think about this, but when an event happens that doesnt have some random rng calculator, then wasn't it always going to happen? Idk, some sort of quantum physics enters when we start talking about odds in relation to non pen and paper events taking place with infinite variables.
just playing live poker for fun

If Weidman signs, the card stayed healthy, and they got McGregor vs Alvarez, 205 would be EASILY the GOAT card, nothing even close on paper.
Alvarez being smart giving the UFC a hard time not signing to fight vs Khabib.
I hope Conor doesnt get too greedy because he should have learn his lesson now after UFC 200 Zuffa isnt simply going to be his bitch, if he doesnt sign and Alvarez is forced to fight Khabib and he loses the Lightweight title will be unattainable for him

No, I mean if you want to be deterministic then even poker isnt random right? the exact movements in the dealers hands defined the position of the cards in the deck but since that is impossible for us to calculate then it belongs to the realm of randomness.
If Rockhold and Bisping were to fight 100 fights and Rockhold won 99, then Bisping would get "lucky" that 1 out of 100 right?
If you want to go more into detail, lets just say that Rockhold miscalculate a little bit and goes in too deep with a jab at the perfect time when Bisping is rotated to throw a power right and Bisping is in a perfect angle where he doesnt see it coming and/or moves exactly where the punch was thrown and gets KOd.
It all comes down to who wins the majority of the times given a repeated scenario same in poker, 72o will beat AA but a smaller percentage of the time thus we call it being lucky, the same happens in all sports all the time.

TUF tournament champions: Cejudo vs Benavidez is awesome, I just watched the first episode (two first fights). I did know that the winner would face DJ but didnt know that all of them were champions of different organizations. Pumped for this season.
