If Europe backs Bitcoin its more than enough for it to rise to the "moon", usa/china/russia won't be the ones bringing it to the spotlight and its easy to know why.

Europe wont back bitcoint, no major economy will ever back bitcoin, it simply takes power away from the state and the control of currency, its the same reason government fear and try to control the internet in general because its an anarchic system that they cannot control

well, lets see. Steal City made me buy some bitcoins back when they were $10.
Cashed out about 20% of portfolio when they were at about $1000/coin, so thats, um, 10000% profit. Freerolling from here.
Still, disappointed the price is flopping around like a dead fish. I really thought it was going higher.
Also have traded into some Dogecoins recently cause they look underpriced given how much activity there is in forums around them.
holding 1/3 of my crypto balance in litecoins that I hope aren't going to drop off the face of the earth. Tbh I should be giving this more thought and be more active in portfolio balancing.

I think scraping forum data from the web/forums and using it to inform trading decisions could be profitable. alot of work though.

Choosing LiteCoin over Bitcoin is like choosing myspace over Facebook. Did myspace matter? ...

I think one of these protocol layers will end up "working" soon and gaining moderate traction enough to bring medium adoption and lead. As an investment, it's a matter of choosing the coin that this layer is built on. Which one is it? Iono.

just a note that i find the programers responsible for writing these layers, such as the author of mastercoin to be arogant and imature. I hope ripple implements heding features like the way mastercoin plans.

I posted a question on quora about Ripple, and the Feds interest in the currency. Their chairwomen was kind enough to answer my question, though unfirm she said "The comments you are referring to were made by a VP there, not the institution as a whole(Fed). But the comments were made in the context that pointed out that monetary policy is a useful thing, but it is also useful to be able to move money easily, and it is the second part that he found useful and important (rather than virtual currency as an alternative to the dollar). My best guess based on the presentation is that he meant that Ripple naturally supports keeping a ledger in fiat currency, where the virtual currency plays a (crucial) supporting role of making it easier to transfer value across institutions."
