If someone offered you $5,000,000 for free... but the only catch is there is 1 x) odds you will die (and not receive any money for your next of kin either).
So how much do you value your life compared to getting $5 million... would you ever accept this deal, and if so, at what odds?
FAQ:
Q: What method of death would it be?
A: Painless lethal injection.
Q: How do i express the odds I am willing to take?
A: 1:N odds of you dying vs not dying (eg. 1:100 means 1 in 100 times you will die, 99 in 100 you will get 5 million).
Q: What currency is the $5,000,000?
A: USD

dunno if i want to die yet. I kinda wanna raise kids before i die. Otherwise i would go 1:1 odds for 5mill. edit: lethal injection is for pussies. I would take firing squad and ask that there be no blanks used so everyone knows they killed me. |

What are the odds? Actually never mind, no amount of money is worth risking my life. Even if that's 1%, .. I mean, 1% to 5mil, that's what.. with normalized numbers, basically 50k for my life?.. nope. I'm worth more than that! |

What would be interesting is to see what odds people are willing to offer for both getting the money and dieing, that is to say they run it twice: first time for the money and second time for their lives. I think I would do it for 1:5 ! The thing is if I get the money I'd probably die from the orgy following in the next months... |

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not | |

Something close to the risk of death just by choosing to step outside, drive a car, etc. everyday. So something like 1:10million? I guess I value my life quite a bit. |

if the 5mil was in gold bullion/ingots inside a pirates chest and the pirates chest was buried on a deserted island and i had the only map to the deserted island and where the chest was buried but i had to use a small dinghy and the island has a lot of natural dangers and maybe savage locals or something yeah i'd def do it. likelihood of death easily more than 1:100 |

this reminds me of a program that was gonna launch in Netherlands (?) where 10 people were put into an airplane. They had to jump out of the airplane and everyone would receive 1 million. The only catch was that one of the parashoots would not work.
They got so many people applying for this show it was scary, but i think netherland government decided it was illegal or something. |
