A+

@ Trolling people with traditional martial arts.
Thats kinda true.
Few Hundred years ago people fought with Swords,Axe,Spears and Bows
That was their martial arts.

Takewondo, Karate and Kungfu had a far less important role than modern Traditional martial artists want u make to believe

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

I think people with inclination towards "martial arts" are usually smaller and that's a big reason they get their ass kicked. A 160 pound guy will never beat a 200 pounder unless the 200 guy is a moron.

As a fellow mma and former wrestler, trained with and by D1 and Olympic level wrestlers and professional fighters from a half dozen disciplines (I'm 6'1 270lbs, just throwing that out since most say this is the type that's just gonna bull rush you) the last place I ever want to be in a street fight is on the ground because you never know how many friends he has just waiting to stomp you on the ground. Personal experience boxing/muaythai to keep distance and a quick counter strike if you see an opening seems like the best plan, but mainly just protect yourself and get out of there, people are fucking stupid and never know what they'll do, get in a fight with one guy next thing you know you're getting stabbed in a parking lot by 4 of his little buttbuddies.(happened just last year to a guy I trained with while I was no more than 30feet away inside the club, didn't hear a thing til the cops showed up and he was already dead)

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

personally think boxing is probably the best street fighting skill to possess. combo of being able to end a fight extremely quickly, little to no long term damage (outside of a broken nose maybe, compare to military martial arts like krav maga that incapacitate opponents in any way possible), amazing for handling multiple opponents, amazing for keeping yourself from getting hurt.

kickboxing prob second, badass appeal is better than boxing (knee someones face off and you won't be fucked with ever) but i think the potential to off-balance yourself and get yourself into trouble, as well as less concentration on boxing fundamentals, makes it more dangerous.

You have a decent point on the off balance thing in Muay Thai but you dont have to expose yourself to it, and the advantages are greatly increased, trading shots you can get KOd, but you can keep a safe distance and demolish a guy with a leg kick.

If the skill difference is SO huge that he simply cant KO you in a exchange of punches ever then it doesnt matter the style you will win.

So imo muay thai > boxing.

and obviously those two in general are better than ground fighting techniques since fighting in the ground has many disadvantages since you cant fight against 2 opponents, but it still might be the best option for very small people, like women.

generally i think kickboxing teaches you half and half and i would choose pure boxing training over it any day. There was a boxing gym where i lived before and there was a time i remembered that while 3 of the unrated, not so good pros were jogging early in the morning they got taunted by a group of 9 guys (obv drinking) and they threw down and wrecked them. that kinda stuck into my head which is why i felt boxing is vastly superior in real fights all these years.

this guy makes a great point about "fighting"(ignore the bruce lee spiel tho lol)
