WannaBeRichs: IPOKEDER is a fuc king fish for real
^
last line in the video that it cut off before i could catch it. it basically summarizes the movie for those who are too lazy to watch it.

here are the links:
filefront: http://hosted.filefront.com/pokerintheface/
mydatabus: http://www.mydatabus.com/public/200NL/a/200nl.wmv

i recorded this movie last night but halfway through i realized my mic wasn't working so i decided to just fuck it and dub it this morning. so, although obviously i know what happened, i tried to make my analysis unbiased and representative of my thought process at the time.

my stats for the session:
VPIP = 33.33, PFR = 27.94, AF = 3.77
edit: yeah, and it's not very long since i realized i wasn't recording any audio lol. it's a little over half an hour and has 204 hands.

comments or questions or snide remarks about how i can't beat 50NL FR are welcome

pz

ps. if anybody wants me to upload it somewhere else, tell me where

i guess

i don't talk very much about hand selection, i kind of take that aspect for granted given the audience; i assume that the players who are watching are playing 50NL+ and don't need hand selection explained.

Q: the hand where u raised AJ from the button, flop came A8x, u bet solid, he called, turn came blank. pot was like 112$. u decided to bet like 48$. i find this kinda strange, but it worked out nice. were u actually thinking about getting away of that hand or were u decided to see the SD no matter what? maybe u can explain ur thinking a little more?

ok well on the turn i have AJ, pot is like $114 or something and he has about a psb behind. board is Ad8x2d3x, he limp/called after i raised on the button. the hands i'm beating are A4, A5, A6, A7, A9, AT, 87d/89d. at this point i basically hav eot play my hand all in, i can't check behind or bet/fold; so my goal should be to try to stack as many of the hands in this range as i can. the best way to do this is not to move in; he may fold A4, A5, A6, A7, A9 to a push. so i figured the best move was to bet half pot and induce him to push over or call.

i dunno if it's the best play but it made sense to me. i would not make this play at higher stakes against a player i respect; i'd probably either shove or check back

i would say ur bet made ur hand quite readable (for someone who thinks about it), but it probably doesnt matter against donks and it was probably a good play against a donk.
but what i find somewhat weird is that ur play gave u no chance to possibly escape from that hand, so u basically had to play for ~150$ with a hand as marginal as that (and not a lot of info on ur opponent).

ok here let me post the hand real quick

POKERSTARS GAME #6823550914: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($1/$2) - 2006/10/29 - 23:05:33 (ET)
Table 'Ruvuma' 6-max Seat #5 is the button
Seat 2: Biden4prez08 ($467.90 in chips)
Seat 3: Jypsey ($154.75 in chips)
Seat 4: Spike333 ($283.40 in chips)
Seat 5: ipokeder ($200 in chips)
Seat 6: dubc331 ($635.70 in chips)
dubc331: posts small blind $1
Biden4prez08: posts big blind $2

Holecards
Dealt to ipokeder JdAc
Jypsey: calls $2
Spike333: calls $2
ipokeder: raises $10 to $12
dubc331: calls $11
Biden4prez08: folds
Jypsey: calls $10
Spike333: calls $10

Flop (Pot : $50)

   3d8sAh
dubc331: checks
Jypsey: checks
Spike333: checks
ipokeder: bets $32
dubc331: folds
Jypsey: calls $32
Spike333: folds

Turn (Pot : $114)

   3d8sAh2d
Jypsey: checks
ipokeder: bets $48
needfaith joins the table at seat #1
Jypsey: raises $62.75 to $110.75 and is all-in
ipokeder: calls $62.75

River (Pot : $335.5)

   3d8sAh2d6h

Showdown
Jypsey: shows TsAs (a pair of Aces)
ipokeder: shows JdAc (a pair of Aces - Jack kicker)
ipokeder collected $333.50 from pot

Summary
Total pot $335.50 | Rake $2
Board  3d8sAh2d6h
Seat 2: Biden4prez08 (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 3: Jypsey showed TsAs and lost with a pair of Aces
Seat 4: Spike333 folded on the Flop
Seat 5: ipokeder (button) showed JdAc and won ($333.50) with a pair of Aces
Seat 6: dubc331 (small blind) folded on the Flop

now see, if i check back on the turn what do i accomplish? if he has me beat, he will push the river and i HAVE to call, because he'll be betting just under the pot size, so "pot control" is irrelevant because i will not be able to avoid going broke against a better hand. it also allows him to improve over my AJ, which is something i also don't want. shoving the turn might fold out a weak ace or an 8+dia draw, whereas half pot will get those hands more likely to play (call or push), maybe thinking i am betting so little to fold to a push.

basically yeah i want to give them more opportunities to make a mistake, which checking back on thet urn does not accomplish. if we had $400 each i would definitely check the turn

i dont see what's the point of betting the turn into 2 other (poor players) limpers on an extremely coordinated ace high board, even if i have an open ended straight flush draw, unless you mean to make a blocking bet

maybe, but i wasn't expecting either of them to pot without 2pair+, or maybe even for it to check through

software i use are pokertracker and pokeracehud, cost about $100 or something. buy them when you're playing NL50 or NL100.

i pretty much never play full ring when there are enough 6-max tables going, but over the 300 FR hands i played this month i was 19/13.5. i have no idea whether that's tight or loose, but i suck at FR so don't take any advice from me.
