How about being honest with yourself for once. The only reason you're making token payments of the debt and trying to claim that you're working hard to pay it all off is because you rely on getting stakes to keep you in action.
QFT
Neilly: ""the "he applied to me" statement is extremely false as well. I was never "up" on the stake, i was up 6k in the first few days (8-14k), then (14k to 4k), then that money was lost.""
Being up 6k in the first few days of a stake certainly qualifies as being "up" on the stake, no? How is "nerd rage tilting" off money playing games you almost certainly were not authorized to play while staked not akin to scamming? I fail to see the difference. If I give my son 10k to go to uni and he buys a motorcycle with it this is a clearly deceptive action.
Neilly, I'm serious, seek professional gambling addiction help immediately. I honestly believe you're in a serious danger zone.
Sorry to derail but we really owe it to this guy to have him seek help and to tell him nothing other than to seek help at every possible opportunity. |

yeah i agree but seeking help is tricky. i doubt gambler's anonymous works for many people let alone delusional sometimes winning gamblers that are probably smarter than the people running the classes. it's on him to stop being an idiot. deep down he has to know that his behavior and actions and choices have been abysmal. there are 2 options:
1.) honesty and virtue have to start winning over pride and ego when making decisions
2.) find stakes that will literally beat him w/ baseball bats if he makes terrible/unethical decisions
until he starts making an effort at the first option i'll be rooting for his past stakes to find baseball bats. i think most are in agreement that fake making efforts at the first option just increase the baseball bat finding sentiments by a lot. making a sincere effort at option 1 i think will have a lot of people rooting for you neilly. i know i would. working at that landscaping job 60 hours/week, eating ramen and starting to pay back some of these guys is probably a great start. |

I really think Neilly's latest backers are idiots for not making a well done research on their future horse, I know I would If I were to give him $8-10k. When you make a bad investment its not just your financial advisor's fault, its yours too.
As to Neilly's gambling problem, It's hard for someone to learn or realize their mistakes even if its the 100th time they've done it when having a real problem. I often see Neilly saying that he has nothing left to his name and that he has no money real life, etc but yet he keeps blowing stakes up. Why? From my point of view its clearly because its not his money, If he had worked hard to build his bankroll and that bankroll was also for living purposes, I think he would feel bad when gambling $4k at NL200 HU or at least think twice about wanting to play that game. Its easy to lose money that isn't yours in a game you werent allowed to play and say "Yeah I know it was a mistake, I'll pay the money back", BS imo.
I don't know if Neilly's deep inside wants to be the degenerate character in LP and other sites but I definitely think its hard for someone to not understand their situation.
I know I'm no one to say this but Neilly's never ending story about being a degenerate stopped being funny/entertaining a long time ago. |

lol wow.
u guys realize i've messed up 2 stakes in 6 years of poker , correct?
one with barbieman - paid back.
one with parttimepoker.com - started paying back. Will be paid back.
My debts are roughly 1-2 months of grinding and gone. I make more than 95% of this forum. You guys are egotistical idiots lol, you all go off one mistake in a 6 year career like its the only thing. Your jealousy is my fuel.
other debts are from ppl giving me $ to play MTT's and me offering to pay 50% back when I can and could. I've made payments etc. I don't ever want to have a debt, I'm on a 1 year plan to get 100% out of debt and ready to OWN WSOP.
I did have a bad perception of the $ for a long time, and did spend $ that was in my account thinking it was mine because I won it although I had some debts.
I've learned, now all i'm going to do is make sure i have food $ and a few dollars for random supplies. all my $ will go to paying off any debts. I now realize the $ i win isn't mine, its debt $ and will consider myself broke until I have every penny paid that I owe to my name.
I've thought over this for ugh, 5 months now? Its been a long time to get the right perspective.
Funny thing is, I make more than most of you, and I will have my "debt" that I created btw (offering 50/50 loan makeup) paid off v fast. I would never go to an online forum if I was a scammer. I would be like dogishead or w/e obv.
You all make your statements with no truisisms, just hearsay and what you "think"
Nobody has been right about anything. And a gambling problem is the farthest thing from the truth in the world. I play poker because I make mad bank. thats why I do it. I used to have a HU degen problem. Raszi taught me hu, i wanted to be a boss @ it and lost a ton at it. i ban myself from cashgames @ stars and just grind sngs and mtts to pay bills and my debts.
Not one person that has posted anything negative about me has met me in any of the years I have been in Las Vegas. Just a bunch of hearsay and twisted conversation.
I take time off poker all the time, I have no addiction to the game. Its what I choose to do with my time.
Anyway, i'll let you guys entertain me with your hearsay twisted comments. Obviously you guys have nothing better to do lol. i'm done in this thread, honestly.
GL,
Ryan

im just leaving the liquidpoker.net community and keeping my friends from it. i don't want any negativity in my mind or life. any debt i have will be paid etc and everyone knows it that needs to and others as well.
u guys have fun, im sick of dealing with idiots. i wrote a list of 10 ppl i wanted to flame with extensive reasoning, but no reason for me to shoot any low blows.
your negativity and lack of belief that ppl can learn to not be a degen is pathetic. i was a degen for a long ass time. i learned from my mistakes, i have made 1 degen mistake this year and 1 last year, thats not a huge problem.
paying my debts is ez simple game and will be taken care of.
i'll go farther in poker than well, just about all of you with a few exceptions (baal/nolan/northface etc) and mb farther tbh, since my job pays a lot more with the right wins.
There is no use for me being on this forum, just 100% flamed and fuel for you guys to say shit. I'll stick w/ my friends and poker friends on skype who actually have opinions that are justified.
GL LP,
You were fun,
Ryan |

neilly a lot of these posters have a point, they are trying to help you with your degenerate action. Being honest with your self is the first step to winning the battle. you blowing 2 stakes past 6 years... come on lets be honest here im trying to help you but you have to realise you screw up more then 2 stakes. Ppl have a right to fucking talk shit to you. Vouching 93% is purely speculation you have no info on how this is true. Stop talking out of your ass, wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to something to say. plato
Deep down you are a winning player but you need balance in your life and stop degening your money away. No cash game or head up and stick to your bread and butter, MTT. TBH ryan i haven't seen much growth from you but hopefully a new change of scenery will help |

I'm going to post a blog post on why I took on this position, the fact is, most criticism really stems from 2 things: 1. Hero is a new network site, 2. the current environment is extremely complex. Especially since I do post publicly as a 'CEO', I am opening myself to being a target (understandably) and as players, it is a trying time and most of what is going, generally in the current poker environment, looks chaotic. I chose to be out here, not because I have all the time in the world to write posts, but it is part of being transparent and it is something that I felt that needed to be done as a new company. Additionally, I have a responsibility to professionally manage what I am responsible for, I don't expect anyone to sympathize or for players to have an understanding of what that really entails, but most player's responses are completely understandable because of the first two points.
Trust is something that is built up over time between people who have a relationship or given via reputation. I can't do anything about the first point if someone doesn't play on Hero or never will (which is fine as a new entrant and for a site still trying to secure a market position), but in terms of reputation, professionally in the industry, I do not think anyone can find fault with me there or deem me not on the same level of any other major executive of any other major firm in this industry. I have more accomplishments than most executives will ever have in any industry in establishing the Asia poker market (contract set up for APPT in Asia, biggest poker room in Asia, Macau poker legislation, founding the Macau Poker Cup), not an exaggeration. But in my blog post, I want to address, why this role specifically.
Frankly, whatever I write isn't going to change anyone's mind, only time will show whether or not I was a man of my word and if I did manage things correctly and professionally. Of course beyond these posts I am working 24/7 and I chose to take on this role and its challenge and what I hope to accomplish is to simply have a fuller picture out there, even if for the most part it is meaningless to most players. But, for some players, it may humanize this company further and that ultimately is my goal to get that level of understanding and communication between the players and Hero. It is a critical and crucial part of how I want Hero to be positioned and I hope this will shed some light on Hero's intentions, beyond that of being a new network site with all it's stereotypes and baggage.
Regards,
David |

It may not come as a surprise to many industry watchers that the DOJ hopes to make further seizures of online payment processors, as the DOJ has clearly signaled a recent tough stance against payment processors that service US customers, with successful seizures both prior to and since the Black Friday indictments.
However, of particular note is that the article alleges that the DOJ is specifically targeting one poker room network that has recently moved to stop accepting new US players and focus more on the European aspects of its business.
Furthermore, in the past the DOJ is not known to have targeted one specific site; in the case of the “Blue Monday” seizures – which involved the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland – a fake payment processor was set up as a “honeypot” trap to ensnare any iGaming businesses that used its services. The operation, like its predecessors, was indiscriminate.

good luck in your future endeavours neilly, whatever they may be
I dont have fun on flaming a guy who is obviously having a hard time in life and I dont think you are gonna find any kinda of love or compassion here so I really think you should leave this forum, at least for some time
if you really manage to pay all your debts and become a straight up guy you can come back here some day and show every one that you did it, you could even make a big thread at 2+2 about how you did it, imagine that? the SICKO TO HERO neilly thread lol
anyway
