I have to stop spewing
  edzwoo, Feb 03 2009

I make some really horrible calls by leveling myself on boards where I'm certain to be crushed. I put no logical though behind some calls, and I just hit the button, which destroys my showdown winnings. Today I had a short session and went up a buyin, but I definitely costed myself about 2bi being totally spewy.

Every other session I finish, I look over my hands and there are at least two big pots where I say to myself, "Wow, why did I do that?" Then I realize I could probably up my winrate by something like 3-5ptbb if I just stopped making horrible calls.

Here's an example of a horribly played hand:

I mean, I really had no reason behind flat calling the 4bet, I just decided to click call instead of getting it in. In a broad sense, I don't mind that I got stacked because I'm getting QQ in bvb for sure, but it makes me mad realizing that I could have saved myself most of my money as played had I not been stupid.

So yeah, I'm beating NL100 in general at 3ptbb-ish, so I can't really complain, but I'm also still 10bi under expectation lifetime, so I'd love that to even out. If I can have a few more good sessions, I'll be taking my shot at NL200.

Most ridiculous session ever.
  edzwoo, Feb 01 2009

Decided to play some 6max because there are way more fish at those tables then in nitring.

Look at how often I flopped a set. Extremely short session because there was no way I could play well after these two hands happened:

January. Wat.
  edzwoo, Jan 31 2009

A combination of NL50 and NL100 to win a measly $882.89.

ROFL redline. Unlike what you'd probably think, my blueline isn't plumetting due to showing down garbage hands (although I do sometimes, of course), but from calling down hands that I definitely shouldn't be. My biggest leak hands down right now is making horrible calls.

I think I need to cut down on some tables occasionally to get some solid reads and notes on the regs. I'm certain I've been running pretty terrible this month, but I've definitely spewed in a ton of spots that I shouldn't have.

Anyways, February is gonna be a breakthrough month for sure. See you at the tables.

Time to run good?
  edzwoo, Jan 30 2009

So after I've been tinkering around at NL100 for a bit, but it's been a bit frustrating. I'm certain I can beat the games the same rate I did at NL50, but I really believe I can actually beat it at an even higher rate than NL50. This sounds a bit strange because obviously the play should have improved, but regs here really suck in two spots: 3bet pots and getting raised at a certain point postflop. I don't really feel like getting into too much detail but basically everyone is a huge nit and refuses to get it in without the nuts, so just go all-in and they won't call.

Anyways, I think I have to fold AA and bottom sets often at this limit when I get raised, because the regs are seriously that nitty here. I think I might have stacked AK postflop ONCE and that was in a 3bet pot. Obviously I'm not playing the same as I did when I first came in because if everyone is that nitty... postflop should be something like size bets on flop and turn so that I have a PSB left on the river, then fire that last bullet and take down the pot 99% of the time.

Hand 14000 was when I dropped back down to NL50 and regrinded my roll back because I ran $1000 under expectation (lol sounds cool). If you notice the huge downswing when I peaked at around 500, that was rofl standard variance? I got set overset about 6 times, KK vs AA I dunno how many times, AA vs donk's two pairs some random amount of times.

It's kind of funny because I really do believe getting it in with bottom set in some spots is a LEAK at NL100.

And more!

I played some medium sized hands very well, but I also played many very poorly. One good thing is that I'm getting a lot better with making thin value bets. What worked better in my winning sessions was that I was playing more passive. It seems the NL100 regs don't believe me and love to float a ton, as well as triple barrel in really bad spots trying to represent hands that wouldn't make sense on previous streets.

That's what I was doing in the last few sessions as well LOL, so I have to stop that.

Alright, begin heater gogogo

Epic nightmare
  edzwoo, Jan 23 2009

So I was browsing the LP threads on my phone because my dorm internet connection was cutoff due to some network virus. I was reading Night2o1's thread where Myth was offering to make leakfinder videos for Cardrunners members. Given a bit of time, I don't think this is a deal I could pass up, so I pm'd Myth about the details and such.

It was late so I went to sleep soon after he replied, and this is where my nightmare started. I woke up in my dorm (I wasn't actually awake) as normal, I went on LP and saw a PM from [vital]Myth with his little red juggernaut icon. It said something about needing my Stars ID and password. So in my dream, I recalled that I had given him my info the day before (didn't actually happen) and I was wondering why he pm'd me for it a second time.

Then I looked closely and I saw that the name wasn't actually [vitaL]Myth, but [vitaI]Myth; the L in vital was actually an I.

Naturally I freaked out and insta-logged into my Stars account, and my entire roll was gone, and even my FPP was gone (LOL?). Then a little popup message came up from Stars and said "You were hacked! We can compensate either your bankroll or FPP" and there were three buttons. One said Cash, another said FPP, and another said Cancel.

For some weird reason I missclicked and hit Cancel and a popup said LOL! Then I woke up.

So yeah, I don't think I should be browsing LP at night before I sleep.

New style for NL100
  edzwoo, Jan 21 2009

So I've been tinkering around at NL100 and I think I figured out a style that plays pretty optimally vs the majority of the regs. I'll post my overall session stats but I'll show the graph of what I've been trying out lately.

Finally in the green

HEM villain set stat?
  edzwoo, Jan 20 2009

Is there a stat that can check how many times the villain shows up with a set in a session?

I just started a session and I swear I got shown 5 sets in like 50 hands.
