It's going, going, going

Is it out the park, will I get the job? I'll soon see.
Business has changed so much since the inception of zee internet that i have more knowledge of marketing then many of the people interviewing me. And it shined through like a strobe light. And on top of that, the guy running the business was cool. Instead of getting paid to just stand on my feet and show people where shit is, like most people in retail do, i'll be maintaining a website, rampaging through social media, staging products, and creating marketing initiatives. Right up my alley.
This makes up for the pot I lost last night when I was all in with KhKd vs Qs10s on a Qh9h5h flop!
I'm a bogger
GameOverNoob, Feb 04 2014
It's true. The man that basically say's nothing is aspiring to communicate with the masses. Will have to start blogging frantically until my fingers bleed.
Might as well start here.
Decided I was going to stop being a loser and waste anymore of my time, replace the job I left over a year ago, and start grinding. And by grinding I don't just mean poker.
1. Work. I used to think things were below me. My ego was in my way. I'm excited to take any retail sales job and work my ass off.
2. Poker. I'm stoked cause i know when I get out there, i'll crush it.
3. Buying gold. You've seen those bandit signs and commercials advertising "we buy gold!" Yeah, i'll be doing that too.
4. Real estate law class at the famous McGill university. Not as prestigious as you think, it's an individual class for like 20 hours a week. Allows me to learn about REI which i'm also turned on by.
5. Blogging. Not for the sake of generating income (tho it would be sweet if I could make 80k a year like Gary Veynerchuck says) but for everything else that having a pool of many people from your market allows you do do, like market research, which is why i'm doing it.
The job front has been kinda weak. The places I've applied to, while being pleasant and sounding interested, haven't followed up with me. Kind of tilted in that if I would have started looking anytime in the last 4 0 0 d a y s i'd be a much better and happier guy right now.
Holding back on poker until then. Haven't been perfect about it though. A friend offered to buy my action in one of his games. Played alright, and lost a 500bb pot with AA vs a gs+fd OTF. It was one of those games that you could limp raise AA 30x pre and get 4 callers. Karma, eh?
Played a TCOOP and got murckkked. Ridiculous shove by my opponent. PLO mtt short handed, i pot from SB with AA45ddhh vs his OTB limp with 13bb. He calls, and jams my pot bet with a gut shot and two overs. Lost to a backdoor two pair! Also just played an hour on 1 table PLOZOOM 10 won something silly like 300bb.
Tomorrow 6 am, im job hunting baby!
Be good LP

Poker
GameOverNoob, Nov 29 2013
Been chilling this past week playing poker on my time off. <3 I forgot how my I enjoyed winning. Made a depo on FTP to play NL2. Found comfort on 12 tables and basically made a point to experiment with strategies.
I started off hot. Winning something like 80bb @ the 2k mark. Major regression soon after. At 4k I swooped down to 18bb and leveled out at 30 at 10k hands.
Moved up to nl5. This time tightening my opening range a little bit, but widening my flatting range, and also opening up my 3/4 betting ranges. I guess I didn't tighten up my opening range cause my stats for the session are 60-40-18.
I wasn't getting folds from light 3bettors when I 4bet. And they always had A rag
Thinking about bet sizing a lot. I know my vbets are bad ott and otr. Im going to try shoving more rivers and see what happens. My 4bets are 2.5x.
NL2 was a lot of stealing ip. Low redline. Lost value betting too much in some places.
My big pots were mostly against spazzes but there weren't many. Winnings were mostly from people c/c c/c c/f'ing.
update
GameOverNoob, Nov 19 2013
The last time I wrote something, aside from the very last post to get a free subscription to workflowy (thanks yo!) I've done a bit of seemingly random stuff I consider positive and a step forward. Still I'm a little frustrated I have no income being generated from something I built or am doing aside from my regular work for some company job, which i only just started.
I became interested in real estate investing about a month ago. I learned about some successes people achevied buying distressed properties in vegas and renting them out on airbnb for a 20% annual return. I bet a few people are thinking that's great, speak to me first because las vegas doesn't like people taking business away from their hotels and you have to act accordingly. Leins and deeds are sweet in texas, the hybrid state that allows folks to buy back their property for a 25% premium, which apparently happens about 15% of the time. And then there's wholesaling, which has no barrier to entry and the only strategy I could do myself in the short term, only I don't think i'll have success negotiating in french.
Last week I began talking to a 150 year local boutique that's being run my a new owner about building their website. I got really into the project, which expanded into digital strategy, and marketing, and have a solid start to viable business plan. Hopefully I can persuade him to let me build the website and go from there.
I bought drawing software. I want to create drawings for a clothing line inspired by power.
Got one client for my dog walking service.
Can't seem to find an area of to focus on aside from REI, which is a tough space to start with no money.
Got any ideas ?

Product for resale to small businesses
GameOverNoob, Nov 04 2013
I'd like to start a simple part time small business reselling one product to small businesses.
My city has too many restaurants, so I'm thinking restaurant apps(biznessapps.com), or scheduling software(shiftplanning.com)
I want to keep it as simple as possible. Focus on becoming good at sales.
Suggestions please.
Maybe I should be a referrer for business management applications through a blog. I could still cold call businesses in my area... ?
Arrogant people
GameOverNoob, Oct 22 2013
How do you reason with loud, arrogant people who bend the truth and twist words to give themselves justification for what they're saying?
