I found my new favorite fish today and he donated pretty nicely today. As always it seems like I get stuck a bit at the start of a session but managed to grind it out and make a bit of a profit. I had some really good table selection and they worked well for me. Session started pretty rough have a few hands countered etc. and it didnt help that I couldnt hit my huge draws in huge pots to save my life.

I got FTP to work fine for me today which was nice but man what a swingy rollercoaster of a day. I managed to get my money back and break even and just said fuck it for now. Going to finish the first season of Dexter now and grab some lunch.

Pretty awful month... breakeven so far but really I havent put in nearly as many hands as I usually do due to work hockey etc. Should turn around sooner or later.

Also I noticed that a lot of the players here play on Stars. How are the $.25/50 - $1/$2 6 Max LHE games these days? Havent palyed on Stars for a while but Ive been considering a change for a while.

My FTP is being so fucking gay its pissing me off. Basically it freezes everyhand, then unfreezes, again and again. Cant play/watch shit. So anyways I went down to the Brantford Charity Casino with my buddy. He is the guy who thinks hes going to win big at poker but is just a toolbox lol. You gotta meet the guy to understand this.

Anyways the games they have there are all LHE. 2/5, 5/10, 10/20, and 20/40. Ive only played in the 2/5 and 5/10 there. Before we went my buddy was trying to get me to play 2/5 with him because hes broke. I told him theres no fucking way im playing the 2/5 because its a joke and has 7+ people to the flop and big cards just get cracked all the time. He tried telling me that the game was easy and that playing TAG is the way to go but I kno from experience that the game is just so shitty and not worth playing in becuase no one folds shit pre flop. I decided to play the 5/10 because its still a soft game but people arent total idiots and the pots are very nice.

I had a great table to be at but had a tough start and found myself down a bit really quick. So I nitted it up a bit and waited for some good cards. Finally UTG I look at JJ. I raise and get 1 called MP and both blinds. Flop comes A6J... bingo. I check, MP bets, blinds fold I call. Turn is a 10. I bet, he raises and I start thinking MAYBE that was a good card for him but I dont think hes got it so I raise, he calls. River another J. Quads baby. I check, he bets, I raise and he just calls and shows A10. Ship it. Anyways that was a nice hand for me and got me pretty close to even. I had a shitty hand a little bit later against some never fold plug who beat my QQ with 92... not even a BB special ew.

Still down a bit I look over and my buddy is broke and looks really pissed. He comes over and says eep playin man Ill stay for a bit and of course I said alright and stayed. The next big hand I had was against this guy who was down a lot. He was that guy who you can tell is just a mess and keeps switching seats hoping to get better luck. He was to my right, it comes to him and he raises. I look down at 44 and call on the cutoff. Button folds, 1 blind calls. Flop QJ4... bingo. He leads out, I raise, blind folds. Turn is an A, he checks I bet he calls, river is a 2, he checks I bet he calls and mucks. Ship it. At this time Im basically even and kinda mad because I just get the text from my buddy saying he wants to go so I decided to just leave but man I wish I coulda stayed because my table was perfect. PRetty good day still tho even though I only broke even... he ride home sucked because I got to hear about how shitty the 2/5 game is and how hes never going to play in it again and all I could say was I told you so.

I learned a few things tho.
1) Continue to never play 2/5
2) If I go to the Casino... Im driving.
3) I love quads.

Didnt really do much today other then that but I did watch the newest episode of Entourage. DAMN it was a good one, not the same old how bout you do this movie and then having Vince saying he doesnt want to do it. I really think Ari ends up taking that job as head at Warner. Vince pulled the old guilt trip on him and it looked like it really bugged Ari. Cant wait to see what happens. My bet is Ari takes the job and Vince gets to star in a massive movie thanks to Ari. Who knows tho!

Tomorrow Im getting a massage because my back is killing me from work/hockey. Probably going to hit the gym and then go to hockey practice later during the night. Hopefully I can fucking get FTP going again so I can get back on the grind. If not probably keep going with watching my new 2nd favorite show Dexter or maybe rent a video game or some shit.

Ive heard a lot of great things about this tv show and today I decided Id check out a few episodes and see if its any good. I actually really like the show. Kinda like a CSI but with a nice twist. Ive only watched 3 episodes of the first season but so far its pretty interesting. Hopefully I can finish the rest of the season tomorrow If I got nothing to do during the day.

I went to the Tornto Snowboard/Ski/Trip show at the Exhibition place today too. They have a lot of great deals on everything and everything you would need to ski or snowboard. I ended up grabbing a new Saloman board and bindings plus a pretty nice Dakine hat. If you think youre going to need a new snowboard for the new season get to this show before its over. Great deals on great stuff.

Last night a bunch of us went to the Oktoberfest event at the Concordian Club. I had a great time and got so trashed lol. Was hurting prett bad this morning, thankfully I didnt hve anything to do for most of the day. Got tomorrow off, probably just going to watch dexter and get in some hands. Not looking forward to work Saturday ugh. Probably going to watch the Red Wings game now and then crash.

Like I said in the other post I won $11 tourney dollars on stars. Im not a fan of tourneys because the larger the fields you run into the more luck you need and they just take so long... you could play for hours and still win dick which sux nuts. I mean look at the stars sunday 200k or something like that. They get over 15k ppl playing in it sometimes which is rediculous. So much luck needed to take that thing down. Anyways I played in 3 small tourneys today and managed to make the final table in all of them but only cash in two of them. Made a massive $5 in winnings! Might try and actually grind the real micros lol but there to tideous and I cant even imagin how bad the 2cent/4cent LHE games are lol.

Right now as I type this Im sitting at a talbe with 3 guys who play over 50% of there hands. Everytime I get a hand they outdraw me etc and its fucking pissing me off. What is the best way to play against a table where you are garunteed to have atleast 3 callers in a LHE game?

I just got back from hockey practice... sasme old shit today nothing new lol. Like always I cant sleep after hockey but lately its been every day that I cant get to sleep. Ive done a lot of sleeping as to why I cant get to sleep like I used to and I have come to one conclusion because its the only thing that has really changed lately. I THINK it could possibly the fact that Ive usually smoked weed a few hours before I crash and when I go to bed Im usually just burning out so its no problem going to sleep. I havent smoked weed in a while just because all my buddies are at school and it seems like no one has fucking weed around here right now. For the last few weeks it seems like I cant get a solid sleep to save my life. I toss and turn for 2 hours, get a little sleep, wake up, toss and turn, get a little sleep and repeat... it SUCKS. I get maybe 3 hrs total sleep and have to wake up at 5am to go to work. Seriously if smoking weed is the only way that I will get a decent sleep thens o be it. Anyone else find they sleep better after they have smoked weed?

Tomorrow Im going to the shit show that is Octoberfest. The Octoberfest parties here are the biggest in Canada, if not North America (Kitchener, Ontario) I went last year and I had a blast. Everyone is just so shittered and has a great time. Lots of my friends from highschool are coming back from school just to go to this event. Im so pumped for it. I havent gotten to hit up any of the other events so I got some ground to make up for. If you live in the Kitchener area and have never been to the Octoverfest events you are seriously missing out and you should get tickets ASAP! I would also suggest that you get a mean pre drink going before you go because its like $5.50 a beer and lines are sometimes huge.

As for poker I had another good day, managed to book a 30BB day which is always nice. Tables were great and had some huge fish donating today + I ran pretty good which is always nice. Hopefully I can keep on playin well and move up in stakes soon.

Ill give you guys a report on what went down at the fest tomorrow

I dont play on stars anymore but I was really bored since FTP was down and decided to use the big 250 FPP points I had left to play in a Satellite. Anyways it was for the Sunday 200k which I thought might have a decent buy-in. Top 6 places get into it and I managed to be one of those 6. I got excited thinking I could just cash out the buyin but it turns out its that little $10 tourney that gets like 10k+ ppl everytime. WOOOT.... now I got a whopping $11 in touney dollars.

Yea.... played on ftp for a bit when it came back on but the games were nity but I won another whopping 10bb before I quit. Going to go to the gym, maybe grind for a bit after if games are good then go to hockey.

Last night I went to see the movie Quarantine.... Im not gonna lie it really was not that good. I mean I was hoping to have some crazy story about why they were being locked up in the house but it wasnt really good at all lol. It actually made me laugh a bit when the one dude figured out what was going on but I wont ruin it for any of you in case you decide to go see it. I guess its a good jumpy movie to take your girlfriend too but man I wouldnt really waste your money on seeing it or even renting it when it comes out on video.

For some reason I cant connect to FTP today... had the same problem yesterday for a bit but it went away. Anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone set a goal when they are playing for how much they want to win in a single session? Ive been doing it the last couple days and its been really good so far but Im just wondering if anyone else does it. I mean I know sometimes there is a potential to make a lot of money at a game with some huge fish but is it possible to be happy with winning so much each time? Im just a bit curious if there are a lot of other people that do this?
