August - First month of full time playing
TianYuan, Aug 31 2012
Didn't get many hands in today, I went with HerO to his GOMTV games instead, to support (he destroyed his up/down group 4-0 to get back to Code S), so I guess this concludes my first month of full time playing, even though I played some in June and July as well. Started at PLO25 and 50, played PLO100 for the last 1/3 of the month.
EDIT: Since I realize some people might not know this - I'm Liquid`Jinro / FrozenArbiter on TL, I've been playing SC2 professionally for the past two years and I retired recently and am playing poker again. August was the first full time poker month since...... probably late 2008 or early 2009 for me, and I didn't really touch the game at all during my time as an SC2 pro.
My volume increased a lot towards the later half of the month since I got my 30" monitor shipped to Korea and started playing some zoom as well (didn't really enjoy playing more than 4-6 tables on the smaller 23" I'd been using for SC2).
Approx. half the hands are from PLO100 (mostly zoom, decent bit of regular), the other half split between PLO25 deep, PLO50 deep and PLO50 HU (and various random hands like accidently joining Hi/Lo no limit tables and realizing on the river when you are about to hero call with your whatever hand that he just overbet the pot times two). Summary is up a bunch from PL025, down a bunch from PLO50 deep, up a bunch from PLO50 HU, up a bunch from PLO100
Got about 60k VPPs to go before I reach supernova - considering going for it in September, tho I'll be going to Japan for 3-4 days at some point. Will see! I think there shouldnt be too much difficulty in doing it even so.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand good night. Long day lol
Too tired to dig up hands from the first session, but managed to put a lot of money in stone-dead with aces in a lot of 4bet 100bb pots zz "_"
Odds Oracle / EV calc help!
TianYuan, Aug 11 2012
So, I was playing around in OpenOffice + Odds Oracle to figure out how to make a sheet to calc EV of calling 4bets (never really used OpenOffice before so this is all pretty new), and just as I was done... I realized there's a native function to automate this inside the Odds Oracle program already -_-
My problem? I'm getting a different answer for the EV from the Odds Oracle than I do when I calculate manually / with open office. Could anyone check what I've ****ed up?
Google docs copy of the relevant formulas:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/c...g56hz-dFNDSllWYll6MlJfQ2d5aklPYlhLdnc
What I enter into the Odds Oracle's PQL interpreter:
select avg(
case
when minEquity(hero,flop,0.3006)
then 42.75*riverEquity(hero)-(5.55+12.85)
else 0 - 5.55
end
) as EVCALL
from game='omahahi',
syntax='Generic',
hero='QQ33$ds',
villain='AA**'
Note: I don't know any PQL, this is cobbled together from a post by someone on this forum and some perusing of the FAQ (link: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showpost.php?p=28772831&postcount=145)
I'd really appreciate it if anyone could show me where I screwed up, thanks!
NOTE: Am aware that unless you set trials to some absurd number the % will fluctuate a little bit everytime you query (so the numbers I entered manually for, lets say, avg equity, will fluctuate slightly but the difference should be in the 0.02 range rather than 0.2)
Isildurrrred...
TianYuan, Dec 04 2009
EDIT: This is a more fitting blog title.
Totally face stomped LOL
Yes, it's every bit as bad as it looks - got straight up demolished by some guy HU I was up a quick 4 buyins on him, coolering the hell out of him left and right.
Then it turns out I'm pretty shit at deep PLO and not all that great at dealing with 30% 3bet either. Guy played very well (in my opinion) and I might have to practice avoidance vs him in the future. Went from +800$ vs him to -140$ (+12.80$ on the session, ship the cheeseburgers).
My session started out brilliantly (like every other HU session I have ever played) by dropping 2 buyins in 4 hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774567 - (2 hands in one!)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774568 - weak.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774569 - Check/behind owned me T_T
However, after this followed a serious boomswitch:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774572 - nhnh
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774573 - Sweet 500bb pot. Would have tilted soooo hard if he rivered me (he has 45% equity on turn).
Next, my eventual nemesis sat down. To make the match fair, the poker gods boomswitched me:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774626 - Boomswitch Begins
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774622 - Boomswitch The Second Coming
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774623 - Boomswitch Returns
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774621 - Boomswitch Episode 1 which is really Episode 5.
Now, that was fun. I knew I'd be playing a little bad now (I tend to play bad when up a lot) but I'm never gonna quit someone whom I've won 4 buyins off in like 50 hands. He deserves at least a couple of hours IMO (even though I could tell he wasn't a bad player).
Cue come back:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774620 - "Lol I'm up so much money, I can do anythin... damnit"
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774617 - Oops.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774618 - I am not sure what he had here, I would sort of assume a wrap, because a few hands later he just c/c twice with second set on a similiarly dry board, very weird given this hand I would say. Not sure what to think.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774647 - See above. Really confused.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774616 - I really, really, really should pull the trigger here Ahhhhhhhh, I need to borrow some of Freak's heart.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774615 - No idea what I'm doing here on the turn - I guess protection betting? Maybe I was tired and didn't realize I had a second ace? I'm not sure, it's a bit of a mess.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774641 - My feeling is that if he's gonna bluff he'd do it on the turn, since by betting the river it's basically the easiest call for me to make? >_<
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774644 - I hate bottom 2 -.-
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774645 - Was gonna check ship turn... Hm. Meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774646 - What to do on turn here? I know he likes to c/c A LOT after 3betting, even with pretty decent draws.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774614 - Only all-in I lost vs him THAT's how badly he stomped on me.
Session saving hand:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/774624
LOTS more 25 bb pots lost, his redline is basically a copy of Isildur's I think I played pretty well at 100bb and maybe even 150bb, but at 200+ I just got really, really, really raped. I sort of stopped 3betting because I didn't feel comfortable 3betting marginal hands deep, but then I just ended up check/folding or leading too much and I feel like I didn't really get much momentum playing this way.
I also should have 4bet A LOT wider (I actually 4bet folded a KK** hand once when really deep which I immediately realized what a terrible mistake that was, no idea what I was thinking, we were literally like 300bb deep), which is something I did a little bit of in the beginning when still reasonably shallow and at the end (IIRC) once shallow again.
So I think I'm gonna try to work in a lot more 3bets, I think it was difficult to play against. And, as above, work on incorporating more hands into my 4betting range instead of just calling.
What song is this!?
TianYuan, Sep 19 2008
It's Shinji Sasaki's (professioanl fighter) entrance theme, instrumental piece that's really good imo. Tried googling but I guess he's just not well known enough in the english speaking world for me to find any info and I don't speak japanese.
I cut out the entrance bit from the last shooto event which has most of it:
http://mihd.net/ia4uhnj
Any help in identifying this song would be greatly appreciated =] The name of the 2nd song would be cool too.
Thanks.
I'd offer money on stars for it but I only have money on crypto, and they don't have p2p transfer.
EDIT: Chuiu on TL knew it, Yoshida Brothers - Storm

FUN TIMES WITH FLIPS
TianYuan, Aug 29 2008
EDIT2: Before anyone takes this the wrong way, I'm not actually THAT titled - I don't even have to move down (although I probably will play less 5/10 just for a while). It just feels good to rage a bit :D
Anyway, even though I have ran pretty bad it's not like I'm without leaks, and I don't consider myself to be "one of the best 5/10 players at ipoker" by any stretch, I'm probably a dog in many of the games but I generally table select well.
So while I don't think any of these are LPers: XynDen, stop winning flips with your pocket tens. LCFan, god damn you and your weird play. That is all, I need breakfast.
EDIT: An alternative title could be "I'm a stubborn donkey who doesn't know when to quit".
FUCK FLIPS (this is the 3rd time I write this, the first time I was tilted, the second time I was oddly less tilted after having to re-write my post from accidentally clicking a link, now the 3rd time I'm re-tilted as I forgot to fill in my blog title and have to do everything all over again - SIGH).
Todays session(s):
A huge FU to that.
This month (actually more like the last 1.5 weeks)
A huge sigh to the allin EV.
Eh I'm content with that.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514504 - What if I have the PP, what then? Stupid question.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514145 - This is almost a flip, AA vs flushdraw. Ahhhh what a lovely 2nd hand of a session.
Won flips
This section is empty. I could perhaps find a couple vs SSs but I ignored the flips I lost vs them so w-ever.
Various
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514615 - asdffssgdfdfdfjfddhgj5567, this was the hand that caused me to just close all the tables.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514137 - Lovely follow up to the AA hand, 83% to win is apparently not enough.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514136 - Let's just add a lil bit of set under set action to make things juuuuust perfect.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514555 - Thank you for giving me such a wonderful river vs the super fish.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514554 - Reveeeeeeenge.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514415 - A miracle he didn't have quads here imo.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514447 - This was just my own fault, although I really didn't think he had that much.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514413 - 9s vs Ts bvb. ZZZZZZZZZZZ
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514346 - Le sigh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514152 - Ty for the donation, I only wish it was bigger.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514150 - A setup in my favour, imagine that.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514149 - See above.
Weird spot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514342 - In hindsight I think I should just be betting here until he raises, get value from 8s to Ts, maybe even jacks. Esp. with a spade.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514148 - Well this obviously didn't go so great. I don't know how I should play this.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514139 - I was seriously considering folding here, thought he could only really have KK -_- But I timed down and called at the very last second.
TianYuan vs JoeMiller - cooler city (the only person I ran good vs, very good vs even)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514635 - Wee x1
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514414 - Wee x2
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/514581 - Wee x3
Hya-fucking-ha.
Not that this really hurts my ability to take some more shots at soft 5/10 games at all really, but it suuuuucks.
Swingy session + insomnia
TianYuan, Aug 15 2008
So I finally feel confident enough in my PLO game to mix it up and do 4 tables NLHE 2 tables PLO, had my first such session today and it went alright. Started out down 2k but made a come back and when I stopped playing at midnight and fired up my PT stat windows I noticed I was only down 200 - very nice.
Starting out playing HU on 2 tables (PLO one, nlhe one) and 6 max on another two (well, waiting lists anyway), got kinda crushed in the PLO HU ^_^ Didn't run great and might not have played great either, not sure.
I played >waaaay< too loose initially, probably an effect of playing so much PLO for the past 2 months. I had great difficulties keeping my VPIPs below the 40s initially (like 40/30, 36/30). Think I was leaking a reasonable amount of chips playing this way hehe.
Omaha hands
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505408 - Biggest pot I won, 3 barrel bluff when quite deep.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505406 - It seems really weird for him to pot a jack here, I considered moving in but ended up wussing out.. (if he doesn't have a jack I'd put him on some kind of pair that called for 2 pair and is now bluffing)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505405 - Pretty standard.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505404 - Might be standard?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505403 - Here I'm trying to bluff him off the 3rd nuts.. I dunno if it's brilliant but he did time all the way down... At least he didn't snapcall or I'd have been tilted! Btw I really did think he was quite likely to have a boat (maaaybe a straight) because of a previous hand where he made the same halfpot bets with middle set IIRC.
Hold'em hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505400 - First time I see him, I haven't played on ipoker in a couple of months, but he was quite aggressive with 3bets from the blinds, and seemed reasonable (he had like 24/21ish stats over the small sample I had on him iirc). He'd 3bet a couple of times and I 4bet him the 3rd time I think (with a bluff), which worked. Do you like a raise/call on this flop or a call/call (and probably call again?)?
I'm unsure how many pair+draws he'll have in his range.. Vs his specific hand I could have obviously gotten the money in but I'm not sure he'd call with hands like 87s or if he'd 3bet those.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505399 - Too much omaha for me? He snap-potted turn then hesitated a while on the river.. I think I missed a pretty easy valueraise here (although if he reshoved on me I'd be really fucked?).
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505397 - It doesn't make sense for him to have hit this flop with much, I think AQ 3bets, 9s MIGHT 3bet, AA and QQ certainly does 3bet and I block A9 and 99 anyway. So he probably has a draw.. I guess he can have like AT type hands too? Call flop/raise turn good? On the river maybe I'm missing a valuebet again, I sort of just wanted to see what he had. Actually, once he checks, I'm probably always good and should bet.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505396 - Another hand where I really think I've played too much omaha.. I'd expect a ten to raise me on the flop quite a lot, so I was sort of worried he'd have like an underfull. I didn't bet turn because, eh, I felt like I should be tricky since I'm not really gonna be double barreling here a ton. But then I realized I can't very well check/raise here if I expect him to raise most tens on the flop.. So I settled for call/then on the river I dunno, like every midpair he could have been calling me with has a boat now. Bet bet bet probably better..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505395 - villain is like 65/1, maybe I'm supposed to barrel turn here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505393 - Wee.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505391 - Eh I really didn't expect him to show up with this hand.. He's quite fishy but had such a high fold % and low WTSD that I was briefly considering if I should be checking, but you know, I have TPTK..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505387 - one time! Straight flushes are pretty good.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505384 - Both villains in this hand are extremely fishy~ I think I played it alright.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505386 - Huge trainwreck of a hand, I was timing out due to having a difficult decision on another table so just hit the pot button. Same super tight/passive (19/5) villain from the above hand calls me.. I dunno, I hate that ace a lot =[ Not sure I like my turn bet if I check flop, maybe I should just check again.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505381 - Blah, I thought he was the minraiser so I put lots of overpairs in his range. Not sure I like this stackoff now..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505379 - Snapcalled before I noticed he overbet shoved. I might have called anyway, although I think he was trying to get me to call when he did these overbets.. Meh. Losing with trips to top boat for a buyin isn't too bad at least.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505378 - Maybe this is too fancy, this is like my 2nd hand at the table.. IIRC I thought this guy was a reg (probably saw him on a bunch of tables) and thus I don't think he has AK very often. When he calls flop and checks back turn I put him on like 99-JJ so I shove river to try to get him to call those hands.
Terribad sans history?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505377 - Bleh? =]
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/505376 - NFD vs OESD+FD, stnd straight on the river.
Kinda missed a loooot of valuebets today (in the hold'em, I think I played very well in the Omaha 6 max games) but I'm happy that I didn't really tilt much and getting back to even was nice. I've been sleeping like shit lately, going to bed at like
1 am, falling asleep at 6 am, waking up at 6 pm.. Trying to stay up to turn the clock around but falling asleep cause I've been sleeping so poorly that I'm just too tired. Vicious circle really.
Day 9
TianYuan, Aug 09 2008
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501633 - Standard? He was like, 70/20/3, pretty loose.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501663 - lol this wasn't really planned (ie it wasn't like "I'm gonna bet small to induce" it was "I'm gonna bet small to get him to call with his 3rd pair"), but I'm obviously snapcalling after making such a small bet.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501617 - grosssssssssss..... I think I have to bet turn tho?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501611 - Bleh, I thought he was completely FOS here, last time he flopped top set he donked out pot then checked a boat turn.. Meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501607 - Sort of obvious but he had played like 12 hands straight since joining the table..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501586 - Meh. 50/20ish guy but not seen him before and first reraise.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501589 - Nit-rage-I'm-not-folding mode engaged.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501596 - Owned take 3
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501582 - Sorry~_~
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501599 - I guess I'm an idiot, Babygrand!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501588 - Nice flop! Although I didn't realize I had 2 pair here, I might not have shoved then.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501657 - When I first saw his hand I missed the 9 and was wondering WTF he was doing with a bare top pair no kicker.
Ran good today, I'm green for PLO 1/2 now =]
It would probably be less ugly looking if I played better
In other news I'm starting to get the old wanderlust again. That is, shopping around for new pokersites to play! Playing on stars is fun, but longterm it's stupid, paying taxes when you don't have to just because you like the software is, well, dumb.
So it needs to be european:
iPoker Network <- Already have money here.. And it's probably my best choice, huuuuge network, a million 2/4 and 3/6 NL tables (although I think most tables are bad ), and decent #s of tables for PLO up to 1/2.. Not so many at 2/4.
PartyPoker <- Not sure PLO traffic is great here..
Ongame <- not being able to reload without sitting out sounds lifetilting, I'm never playing here.
Svenska spel <- Playing on a site with only swedes sounds like a bad idea but maybe I'm wrong, are the games good here?
IPN (Boss Media) <- no clue.
Microgaming Network <- Hrm, I don't love the software and I dunno how much plo traffic they have.
Entraction Network (24h) <- I think I heard this is mostly just full of swedish nits?
Betfair Poker <- Software is :[ Not sure how the traffic is for PLO.
CryptoLogic Network <- I like playing here but the traffic isn't great (fine for 2/5 NL, dunno about PLO)) and the 2/5 games, used to at least, be full of nothing but nitty regs for NL..
Ladbrokes <- Is merging with microgaming.
I really feel like just putting all my money on william hill again and playing half/half PLO/NL.. they have enough games for that at least
Day 8
TianYuan, Aug 08 2008
Almost even on 1/2 now, just another buyin and a half.. I think I played good most of the time today, was slightly tilted for a while but regrouped fairly quickly.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501006 - I REALLY thought he had quads heh, but with the odds I figured oh well, maybe he has QQ/KK enough of the time..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501008 - I know a few days back I had some silly hand where I shoved a trashy flushdraw on a paired board in a 3bet pot for 100bb (and got it in drawing almost dead to AA with a flushdraw), but in this case I SHOULD shove right?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501017 - I regret betting here, I had won the last two pots and I remember from an earlier session that he check/raised me the 3rd (or so) time I had raised his limp/raised in general.. I feel like if I cbet here, with how much I felt like he was itching to c/r, I shouldn't be folding.. Which might be pretty spewy so a check behind is probably best.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501018 - I'm very happy with this hand~
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501021 - I'm not sure if these types of bluffs are great, but it worked this time at least.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501024 - Hmm, maybe I should bet turn again, 45 probably doesn't raise me, and for him to call on the flop and now have the high end of the straight he'd have to have 89T* and I have two 8s so that's fairly unlikely, I guess he could have 9T** with clubs too.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501030 - Yuck. Bet/fold turn > c/c? He's 13/8/1.8
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501034 - Standard or should I call because his shove range should include more draws than Ax hands? Is KK44 double paired/single suited an alright 3bet or do I really need them to be double suited? Fwiw, TheAndOn was a very loose aggressive player.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501041 - I hate folding here, I see visions of him turning QJ into a bluff before my eyes.. I considered c/ring river briefly to fold out KT (or 9T if he'd bet that..he sort of instapotted it). But he can have AT himself so meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501043 - Should I bet turn you think? Am I being too scared of the nutflush when I have the 2nd nuts? With this many people in, do you think this board is better to c/r (since it's quite an action board)?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501044 - Felt good to do this after the last hand I'm not sure I should be potting in these spots, in hold'em I would probably jam here a lot (since nobody folds a boat or trips ever here) but do you think I I'll actually fold out some low boats here?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501046 - Bluuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh? Fold flop? It's like, a super small raise I feel dirty folding with that many outs On the turn I have like a bazillion million different outs (something like 40% equity vs the nuts).. Meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501054 - Same guy as above.. now he c/raises me pot. Get it in or call? I have 17 outs but I suppose I'm kinda cooked vs 6789 or 5678.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501062 - Same guy as above, this whale just owned me every hand. I was a bit tilted at the time, I think my turn bet is *really* terrible in retrospect, I don't really get a call from worse. I'm unsure about the river, maybe it's a call? Such a weirdly played hand =[
I have no idea what to make of his different lines/betsizes in the three hands. I don't think I got to see anything he showed down..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501055 - I don't think I want to get it in here, so this is probably standard.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501051 - Should have bet river.. I didn't think he was gonna fold after he snapcalled me on the turn tho. Oh well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501063 - Aboo. Standard/not standard? Like, I have the blocker for the nut flush obv but even so, it's a 3bet pot, people probably don't fold any flush here. And I'm pretty much drawing dead vs a flush..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501064 - It's just hilarious how he doesn't raise me with the nuts.. :D Maybe he missed out on the fact that he had 99?? I don't know.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501081 - Reraising this preflop would probably be alright? Post flop I think it's played ok after the ace comes, because he's gonna bluff that a ton.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501084 - Am I missing out on value by not betting bottomset here? I'm not overly scared of him drawing two streets with a straightdraw on double flushdraw board but still.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501207 - Pretty early in the session but I had noticed he was very aggressive iirc.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501209 - I think I like this a lot, the lead looks fairly FOS, and this way I'll get it in very good if he does happen to have the NFD.
I'm slightly ahead of schedule (8.9k hands after only 8 days of playing, or actually after only 6 days of playing and 2 days break, but still) and really enjoying poker which is awesome, been a while since I enjoyed grinding
Day 7
TianYuan, Aug 07 2008
Took a couple of days break but since I played 3k hands instead of the usual 1k before I did, I'm still on track handwise.
I feel like I start playing poorly after about.. 5-600 hands, I guess it could just be that I started off running good and that's why I feel that way, but it just felt like I was too passive and not paying as much attention as I should. Maybe it's an effect of all my tables finally kicking in (ie at the start of my session I'll be on 2-3 tables with 2-3 waitlists).
Maybe I should stick to 4 until I get better..
I really tightened up out of position today as I think that's where I was leaking the most, that and playing trashy QQ/JJ type hands.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500500 - Not sure I'm deep enough to c/r the river so I elected to just bet it and hope to fold out 2 pairs or maaaaaaybe a straight.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500509 - Not quite getting odds to boat up so maybe I should fold this turn..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500518 - He snapcalled the turn so I decided to call river, I didn't think he'd flat turn with just a straight draw that often..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500519 - Here's a situation I'm not sure about: I have extremely trashy jacks and a fish limps.. Can I overlimp in position or it just gonna be too spewy to play this hand as a pure setmine?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500541 - All I can say about this hand is "wtf mate?"
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500547 - I hate these hands oop. Call/call/fold seems.. so weird. Call/fold seems terribly exploitable as well not to mention he's gonna valuebet bottomset on the turn. Call/call/call with no history or read on him seems terrible as well. I ended up call/fold which I immediately regretted.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500559 - Turning hand into a bluff on turn seem ok?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500563 - I should probably make some really weird tiny bet on the river since he more or less never has a better hand here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500566 - I'm not sure if this is really terrible or really expert by me.. But I decided to bet turn as a bluff to get him to fold something like overpair+fd or a better jack+fd.. I thought for sure he'd get it in with a set on the flop but when he then raises this turn.. I dunnom, I think I'm drawing to (maybe) a jack so I fold. Is it better to check down? No idea how to react to a river bet tho.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500573 - Seems standard (I'm bluffing btw, in case anyone new to plo happens to think I'm valueraising).
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500583 - I'm not sure if I should bet here because he's somewhat likely to have a queen if he had some kind of SD (say QJXX) or check because a flushdraw missed. He's like 80/1 something, and I saw him c/c bottom set+2nd nut fd on 3Q9 3 way before, then call a c/r and c/c a blank turn so he's not really one to play sets fast. Actually in this case I think he was worried he was behind because he thought for a while on the turn, dunno dont think he was slowrolling. Anyway I'm I thought if he had slowplayed a set he'd for sure bet here and I could c/r.. Meh I'm not sure if his river check is really expert or really bad.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500601 - Really regret 3betting here, it chases the super deep 80/1 fish out of the pot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500624 - Is the initial preflop call bad with a gap at the top? Once it gets 3bet, should I be at all worried about flopping dominated draws etc 3 way or just standard call (I'm thinking it's a very standard call but for some reason I made a weird fold..).
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500628 - H m ~ I should probably be getting it in here considering stacksizes.. Would a lead be ok to try to get him off AA**? Maybe it's transparent but it's not like I have any fold equity once he bets anyway.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/500649 - Check/raising or betting.. On the one hand, someone could reason that it's hard for me to have a hand I'll bet all three streets with that loves this river and maybe turn something into a bluff and raise me.. On the other hand he did like to draw. On the 3rd hand, maybe he doesn't bet a weak flush.
Overall I'm down just under 3 buyins at 1/2 PLO this month, which is alright considering my relative freshness to PLO and all. There's a nice post on 2p2 about PT analysis (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=1729) and setting up categories in PTO (at page 2, I think, there's a list you can copy paste so you don't have to set them up yourself).
I noticed I'm down a ton with QQ / JJ type hands since moving up to 1/2, I think part of it is that they ran into quads a couple of times (JJ twice, QQ once) but it might also be that sets don't get paid off as well at 1/2 as at lower limits..
