Best de-tilting tool ever !!!
Kilay, Oct 20 2008
Ok, so I took like 4-5 days off from poker because I was on some annoying break-even stretch and also because, quite honestly... the iPoker software totally tilted my ass off (partially because the software sometimes acts weird when typing in bet amounts, made me shove when I ment to c-bet because it forgot the dot a couple times) so, I went shopping with some mates this week and I stepped into a gameshop and I saw Saints Row 2 laying there for the Xbox 360 and I kind of was waiting for that game for almost 2 months becauwe well... it may not be as complex as Starcraft and other RTS or other kind of games, but SHIT, it sure is a whole lot of fun.
And what I found out is, that it is the best de-tilting tour EVER !!! You can put out all sorts of crazy over the top violence and the best thing is, the game isn't even bad without the violence, the storyline is quite good, doesn't look great but not bad either but it's so fucking diverse, name some crazy shit and you can probably do it in that game.
Destruction derby's, cage fights, beating people up dressed as a cop for some TV-show, drive around in a septic truck and spray shit all over the people and buildings around, just performing drive-by's or fly this big-ass Apache-like helicopter and just cause pure mayhem shooting around with rockets and a mini gun and a lot more crap, and all this is apart of the storyline which basically involves some nice, funny and bad-ass cutscenes and after that you performing a lot and I mean A LOT of awesome and chaotic shoot-outs.
Anyways, that was it, call me addicted (I probably am...) but I finished the game in 4 days playing a little more than 35 hours over like 3.5-4 days and I thought it might as well write something about and recommend it to anyone out there with tilt problems...
Well, that would probably be all, hope all of you a lot of luck on the tables and I hope I can do better now since I am starting poker again after a 5 or so day break. And I hope I helped anyone out with fixing their tiltproblems this way.
Greetings, Kilay
Running like crap again...
Kilay, Oct 05 2008
Meh, been running like crap again so I am back here to whine about it like usual. So after my last bad streak I bought HEM so I could prove I was running like shit and it did exactly that so I guess that's good... I am running almost 90$ behind equity on all-ins in 3k hands and I had only 1 session where I ran above equity and it was only 1 buy-in, there rest was all below equity.
I'd post screenies of my graph and the numbers but I don't know how to cap them and turn them into a file I can post here so you'd have to take my word on it if you are even reading this (which you shouldn't because it's some butchy whine blog).
Well, I guess I'm going to feel miserable for the rest of the night after a session I dropped 3 buy-ins within 30 minutes and might regrab myself and start grinding again tomorrow or the day after... Although I'm quite sure that God or any other higher power out there hate my guts and wants me to fail so probably an inevitable road down to bustoville...
Bonuswhoring ??
Kilay, Sep 06 2008
Heeya guys,
So I can currently beat the 25NL games on Pokerstars for 6ptbb/100 and I think I am not even near my best winrate because of not running quite as good lately (like 4-5k hand break-even stretch now, pretty standard, running bad, whatever). So I was thinking, I could just grind up on Pokerstars which I have no real trouble with but... maybe I can build my roll lots quicker by doing some bonuswhoring. Now I don't want to be a permanent bonuswhore whatsoever, I really just want to be the best player I can be and eventually just beat the bigger games without relying on bonusses and shit (I know people just grinding bonusses for money and that aren't actually such great players but just marginal winners clearing those bonusses).
But I thought it'd be a great idea to accelerate my roll growing with doing like 1 or 2 good bonusses.
So I was wondering, since I have no experience doing this whatsoever, is it maybe a good idea to do 1 or 2 good bonusses and move back my roll to Pokerstars after that ??
Now I am willing to move my entire 900$ roll for the bonus and I want to clear it like within a month or so (playing 5k hands a week) playing 25NL and possibly 50NL if I can win those 4-5 buy-ins reasonably soon and get it up to 1k.
Now I had a look at the FTP 600$ bonus for 100% but I read that it was reasonably hard to clear on any limit below 100NL and I don't know how to shortstack or whatever so I'd rather clear a bonus full stacking 25NL. So does, anyone have any recommendations or whatever for what are good bonusses to make the bankroll grow ??
Greetings and GL on the tables, Kilay
HEM Discount Code
Kilay, Sep 05 2008
My HEM trial version just expired and obviously I'd love to buy it but I am just a microstakes grinder playing 25NL taking shots on 50NL. I could obviously buy the 55$ one and upgrade it later but I heard that with either Deucescracked or with Leggopoker (maybe with both even) you could get a discount code that would make you able to buy the full version for 55$ and I was wondering if anyone maybe would still have an available one and isn't planning on using it and might be able to cut a deal with me for it or maybe even soo nice to just give it me, hehe.
Just PM with whatever proposition or whatever and we'll see.

College LOL
Kilay, Sep 04 2008
Hahaha @ college. Just started again this week and first week already they gave us the wrong schedule so I only has classes on Monday (Tuesday was full of classes we already had but they planned it into our schedule mistakes us for another group of students) and Wednesday and Thursday I had no classes planned.
Need to go to school from 08.45-16.55 tomorrow though which absolutely sucks... Last day before weekend and my longest day to boot...
Whatever, I might bring along my laptop and put in some hands over there because most classes are EZ anyways.
To go onto poker. I played super well today, immediatly lost a set over set in first 20 hands or so and that really set me off into monkey tilt state of mind but within 10 hands or so I got myself back together and started playing very well. I was ultra focussed for some reason and made some great plays both as bluff as for value thinking it'd get way lighter calls that way and it worked. Also kind of want from a taggish game into pretty laggy (NO, not because of tilt LOL), on 2 tables I was playing 35/25 at some point for about 50 hands or so and absolutely STOMPING the tables which was nice. Also got some guy on tilt that way losing 2x 15$ buy-ins to me within 20 hands which was pretty cool. I guess that is a possible effect of laggy play hehe. First hand he limp/shoved for 60x BB from SB into my BB and I snapped with 88 and held against his A8o and 10 hands after that I stacked him with AQ on Q87hh flop where he insta-shoved my weak lead on the flop with a worse Q.
Anyways, not much more to tell. I just still want to make a video me playing 25NL so some good players can maybe identify some of my leaks and maybe even some other 10NL-50NL players can learn something, I am not sure hehe. I feel really bad that I didn't cap this session because it was filled with awesome spots with one of them in the micro stakes forums me having KK after this laggy player made a play against me.
Meh, whatever, I'll just tape a session somewhere this weekend and hopefully it will be just as interesting.
Later, Kilay, GL at the tables all !!!
P.S: Shout out to tloapc because I think he did fucking great on his 25NL challenge and feel bad for him that he just didn't make it...
Enough with the whining
Kilay, Aug 31 2008
Ok, so to start off, lately I've been running quite bad and whining here about... Random 2-outers and shit like that... And I decided, it's DONE with my own bitching. Last night after my bad run continued I thought it was time to set myself some clear (and hopefully, realisable) goals to work to untill the start of 2009. So officialy I want to complete these goals before 1 January 2009.
Now these are three different goals and not all are poker related. Here they come and I think it'd be nice to get some feedback on my pokergoal on particular. I am still posting all three since they can relate to my goal on poker.
1) I want to complete my first year of college (business economics) this year. Fairly standard but still I want to complete this crucial first year nontheless. Btw, it's not like I am doing it over or whatever, just in care you are wondering, this is my first year but I want to complete it immediately. This is my educational goal.
2) Technically this can't be completed before 1 January 2009, nontheless, I am posting it. I am competing it in a walking event in Holland called the ''Nijmeegse vier-daagse'' (translated: The 4 days of Nijmegen). It's a walking event which means that in 4 consecutive days, I am going to walk 40 km (or 29 miles) which means that I will walk 160 km in 4 days. This obviously means training for it so that's why I posted it, I started training today, nothing too heavy but still started nontheless. This is my health goal. I am by no means very unhealthy and overweight or whatever but since 2-3 years now I stopped competing in any sports and I want to stay in good shape. Now I absolutely hate gyms, not sure why, probably because of the ''look at me being buffed'' people in there so I decided this is a nice way to get back into better shape. I will also be trying to get sponsors and walking for some charity organisation which will probably involve animal rights.
3) This is my poker goal. I want to be an established 100NL regular and be working on taking shots on 200NL before the end of the year. I am currently playing 25NL after my first failed 50NL shot. Now I think this is definitly achievable and please do correct me if I am wrong. Now my biggest problem is in my own eyes, not my skill, but the volume of hands I put in. I don't have enough backbone and when I don't run good on the day and lose 2 or 3 at most, big pots in my session I quit and am done for the day often not feeling like playing anymore and sometimes also questioning my own abilities to beat the limit. Now I actually do think I should be able to beat it if I wouldn't be such a wuss on bad days and quit because it cripples the volume of hands that I put in. I certainly have an above average IQ, did several professional IQ tests for school purposes and I've always been good at maths and psychics and logical thnking and therefor I believe I should be fairly good at poker as well. I know it's very standard variance that should occur daily (winning/losing 2-3 buy-ins) but still I don't grind through it when it goes bad.
I want to accomplish this poker goal by setting myself two sub-goals:
3.a) I want to attain a minimal winrate of 8 bb/100 (so 4 ptbb/100) on both 25NL and 50NL before moving up. This winrate should be over a reasonable sample size, I am not talking 100,000 hands but something like 20,000-30,000 hands or whatever at least.
3.b) I demand myself to put in 5,000 hands at least every week of the year until 1 January 2009. I always 4-table so that comes around something like 15 hours of poker every week. I made this estimate by making myself play at least 3 hours a day during weekdays so if I need to skip a day or maybe two because of college reasons or whatever I can make those up during the weekends. Now I counted the weeks and I believe that this would mean I'd put in 90,000 hands before the end of the year.
There you have it, those are my goals to achieve before the end of this year. Please leave comments on any of my goals if you want to and I'd especially like comments on my poker goal. Please let me know if I set the bar for myself either too high or too low.
Anyways, tomorrow is my first school day after a good 2.5 month summerbreak so it will be a bit like rehab lol. Overall I had a reasonable summerbreak pokerwise and also funwise. I made my summer pokergoal achieving at least a 1k roll but still I am dissappointed by myself since along the way I felt like I could do way more than just that.
GL to every on the tables and in school for whoever else needs to start again tomorrow or somewhere this week and do hit my up if you got any comments or whatever on this pot.
Later, Kilay
Bye profit !!
Kilay, Aug 29 2008
Got back out of my 2 week downswing (winning back like 8-12 buy-ins, whatever) in a week time and even got up 2.5 buy-ins and I thought it was smooth sailing upwards once again, NOT !!! Lee Jones hates my guts...

Back to a whopping bb/100 of 1.02 and a whopping hourly rate of 0.69$/hour, please kill me, my life is pathetic...
Is it a sign ??
Kilay, Aug 25 2008
Just finished an ok session. It started off bad losing a couple of flips and 75/25's to some shorty donks, whatever. Then I got back winning a stack with a set on a dry-ish board so no praying somebody had a straight or whatever, just hoping they'd call me down. Then within ten hands I lost all back within one hand losing with my top pair good kicker against an open ender getting there on the river from some 65/11 aggrodonk on 100 hands... Whatever, I paid him off on river getting more than 3:1 hoping he was doing something retarded with a top pair worse kicker. Then it just kept floating around the same amount being down a buy-in or a little more and then this happened. I won't spoil it, just read it for yourself, it's pretty awesome.

Yep, that's my first ever, I had 2 straight flushes before on my old database on PT2 I was too lazy to import. Never had a Royal Flush though, a draw sometimes but never hit it obviously. It was pretty cool and I hoped he'd call me down until river just so I could show the entire table, lol.
As you can see though, I didn't win much here because it was a shorty but still it was cool.
Then after 2 hours I decided it was good enough and I'd just pick up the session tomorrow and in my final orbit I won a 60$ 3-way pot with the absolute nuts against some tilted tag and the king of aggrodonks. Almost the entire table was tilted because there was a guy playing 87/52 and having a 3-bet percentage of 55. And if you run as hot as he did, that works. Basically the guy was just raising every pot he entered preflop and was crazy aggro on all kinds of boards. And as it seemed a lot of the other tag's didn't really knew how to cope with it since they got tilted because he was running really good winning flips and making suckouts whenever he did get to showdown.
Anyways, that was it pokerwise, during the day I went to IKEA today and got myself a new chair for at my desk so I can put in longer and more sessions since my old chair tilted me and would hurt my back after 2 hours or so.
Well, that was about it, I just want to say, if any of you microstakers need a good chair to make hours in and don't have the money for an Aeron... This chair is great value for just 200$.
Well, GL at the tables all and I'll cya all later, Kilay
Please give me a working luckbox...
Kilay, Aug 22 2008
I've been running so bad lately, it all started out at my shot on 50NL and it just keeps on going. I already cashed 300$ so I got my initial deposit and a little extra already out of my roll so I am basically freerolling. Still it's so annoying to just not catch any break and keeping getting sucked out on.
In my last session today I got a set crushed by a runner Flush (ATo on 983hh board, I had 99) and another overpair killed by a flopped flushdraw (I know, kind of standard) and got it in on the turn and got there on the river. And after those beats tonight I just started tilt shoving for my last orbit on every table and I even won back two buy-ins that way. When you think of it, it's probably hilarious...
Here's my graph:
Notice the last part where I started tilt shoving and insta-won 2 buy-ins...
I know, all whine, whine, whine, so standard and crap like that... True but this has been going on for a solid two weeks now and it feels like it's never going to end... I know, more whine, whine but writing it down helps me a little bit so I thought might as well write it down here and let people get a laugh out of it, right ??
Btw, I am going to make a video of myself playing very soon (not now though because I am totally NOT in the right mood to play a good solid game right now, note: the tilt shoving) so it'd be really cool if you guys would have a look at it and note some leaks once I got it made.
Well, I hope you all have more luck on tables, later, Kilay

Kilay, Aug 21 2008
Ok, so after yesterday's session I cashed out 300$ as mentioned in my own reply and thought it was a good idea to get either HEM or PT3. I read and heard a lot of great things about HEM and that is has some more stats that can be very usefull that PT 3 doesn't show (I remember reading something about 3-bet percentages and so on). Now I am still only in the trail version but I am planning on buying it if I can get it all setup right.
Here is where the problems come in... I don't understand jack shit of it and I can't even get the auto import to work (while I did get it work with PT2 on my other PC). I'll just screw around with a little bit more and hope I get it all figured out. Anyone else had any problems with this ?? Is it me, HEM, my computer or PS ??
Btw, for anyone ever interested in having a kid, here are some usefull tips:
I hope you all learned something from those 2 most epic blogposts and if not then at least learn something of the pictures above. You're doing it wrong !!!
Later, Kilay
