Bad night, bad decisions
  GameOverNoob, Jul 18 2008

I smoked a joint the other night, which i rarely do and it put me to sleep for almost a whole day. I woke up feeling like crap so i went back to sleep and when i was feeling better i decided i had to makeup for the sessions i lost. I guess i still wasn't in the best shape cause i sat down on 4 tables of 6max and lost 2 buyins within 10min. Decided to get some coffee, relax for 5 min n get back to it. I got back to my computer and for some reason wanted to 3 table hu nl50. The first part of the session went very well, was up 3buyins but for some reason i lost control of myself and started making tons of mistakes... my mentality was to crack everyone and win every single hand...needless to say i dropped ~12-13 buyins over the course of 2hrs. I was steaming rly hard and opeend my cashier to see the damage and was ssoooo mad.!!! almost a whole weeks work gone! Had a smoke, drank my coffee and sat down at 2 nl100 hu tables (worst move ever!) but was in a solidmentality and really was focused on playing well and making my monies back. I did this with about 12buyins of that limit in my account. I played very well, stuck to my game and got lucky with some mediocre villains and managed to make back 530.00$ of my losses back. I obviously happy i made most of my losses back, but mad that i lost control. I'm gonna think of ways to getmyself from now steaming like i did, cause one day this will result in me going busto. Yoga? kinda gay... Can't go for a jog really cause i play late at night... well. that was my rant... had a long session but i think im still okay to get back to ym usual 6max games for a couple more hours.

Poll: Tilted, moved up stakes and went busto?
(Vote): No, only fish do that
(Vote): Who hasn't?
(Vote): I can usually regain my stamina and not go too crazy
(Vote): tilt?

Working on post flop play
  GameOverNoob, Jul 17 2008

Trying to take more pots down without showdown, which i think should be std, but my last graph dictated otherwise. Here's my graph for my past 5k hands, there's an improvement, but i can't really interpret exactly what it means.

advice, suggestions appreciated.

UPDATE
  GameOverNoob, Jun 29 2008

Been a while since I'v played nevertheless blogged but here's an update from where i left off.

Couple months ago i took down the 3$+r MTT on Stars (below), decided to continue my summer break for a while longer which i did and now i'm back to the grind.
I found getting back on my feel much harder this time around, but surely im getting back to my normal groove.

Here's my small sample graph of the past few days since i started again, mass tabling small stakes

Little confidence boost, and I've moved up one lvl and cut my table numbers in half.

Plan on putting at least 100k hands in 4-8 tabling before i move anywhere cause the field has changed quite a bit since i'm back and my game needs to be sharp before i hit nl100+

Got my new setup 95% finished
Great motivation to really put in the time and focus.

Goodluck to all in the WSOP, bring home some ft's and bracelets boys!

insert from my new blog
  GameOverNoob, Mar 09 2008

Its been a while since i'v posted anything of intellectual substance, so here's my shot at attempting to be smart. I came to the realisation that even though profitable over my time playing so far, I have been just as much of a fish as any others.

I'm beggining to actually see on multiple levels while i'm playing. Although incapable of doing so on more than 2-4 tables. There's so much more to this game than you could imagine. As I begin to see betting patterns umong 95% of the players im facing, i'v realised that i too have simply only been playing my cards(only better). While patience and aggression are key factors in being sucessful, being able to accuratly put your opponents on ranges is what seperates a decent player from a good one. I honestly think i have to take one step backwards, move from 6-12 tables back down to 2-4 and make more difficult desicions during game play. I'm just finishing my session for the evening(or for right now) and i'v made back 4/12 buyins lost from friday night. I'm going to conitnue thinking about how I can improve my game because as of now, im very dissatisfied with my performance thus far. (not due to results, im happy with those)

should have called it quits
  GameOverNoob, Feb 25 2008

I played someone HU, NL50, lost 3 buyins not because i was playing poorly, but running horribly against one opponent. He wasn't a bad player, passive oop, and not 3betting even close to me but he caught me on terrible situations.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/393186

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/393185 (AK TPTK vs 88 set)

As you can see, the session didn't go my way at all...

I don't think there's anything i could have done differently, i played a very LAG style, with very wide 3bet range, even some light 4betting deeper into the session when he tried playing back at me.

My night went from horrible to bad, then i leveled out and then got owned by someone who i'm clearly superior to.
Tomorrow's another day, im going to have to move back to 6 SH tables for a few days which sets me back about 1 week.
