Fitting end to April...
  RAHZero, May 01 2007

Well, the last day of April was by far the craziest day of poker I've played to date. Started off by running sick hot, going up +$950ish in like 450 hands. Was just getting hit in the face with the deck, every move was working, etc. Then ran into a brick wall, lost a huge pot against a donk with TPTK against his slowplayed aces, lost with AK that flopped TPTK against a flopped flush draw that hit on the turn, which also gave me the nut flush draw, and was up about $400. Took a break, came back, and played a short crappy session. Nothing was hitting, ran KK into AA, had a guy on my buddy list flop quads on me, and by the time it was over, was down $200ish on the day. Finished up with another session after midnight, and that went much better. Played some of my best poker of the month, ran well, and kept raking in the pots. Final totals were +$908.50 in 2,152 hands. Final April stats and graph to come.

Cold as ice...
  RAHZero, Apr 30 2007

So I'm officially no longer running hot as hell. Dropped about $1.5k this weekend. Lost like $400 at NL 100 getting f'ed over and over again at Full Tilt before I decided to withdraw and put my whole roll back at UB. Dropped another $400 taking shots at NL $400 (lost top two on the flop to a semi-shorty's flush draw, and then top two to a straight, made a buy-in back with a flopped flush vs. aces), lost the rest at NL $200. Couple days ago I was thinking this could be a $4k month (last month was my first $2k month, though I'd come very close before). Now I'm barely above $2k for the month. Hopefully the last day of the April will be good.

I run like Barry Sanders...
  RAHZero, Apr 26 2007

Played a very short session of NL $200 at UB today to clear the last 11 points I needed for this week's points for cash, and ran sick hot. Stack-a-donk worked to perfection with AA and KK, and finished up about $500 after less than 100 hands. Just installed UltimateBuddy as well, and saw a huge fish playing $5/$10 NL. Resisted the urge to jump up and play him there, but took a shot when he was playing $2/$4 later. I got hit in the face with the deck in the first orbit, but couldn't connect postflop. Then I stacked him with QQ against 77 on a 852 flop, 6 turn, 5 river. Played barely over 100 hands today, but it was a good one:

April is g00t...
  RAHZero, Apr 24 2007

Still running well at NL 200. Put in a rough session Sunday night, lost to a couple bad beats early, managed to come back and was up about 1.5 buy-ins, then lost a couple big pots and finished up like $10 for the session. Yesterday was much better. Started off bad when I pushed a flush draw + overs on the flop and missed (was 49/51). After that though, things went very well. Hit a couple sets, 3-barreled successfully on one hand with a pretty good read, got AA vs. KK, overall pretty standard stuff and ended up about $760. Since my $1k+ downswing earlier in the month, I'm up almost $3.5k and up about $3k on the month total with bonuses and RB.

Monday's graph:

First 1k day
  RAHZero, Apr 19 2007

Today was a crazy day. Don't usually play in the afternoon, but had no class, so decided to put in a little session. Started off rough when I got into a 3-way all-in on the flop with TP + NFD. PStove has my equity there as 33%, so whatever, was +EV with the dead money in the pot. Of course the guy with the worst hand (bottom two pair, other guy had a straight) won by hitting runner runner flush. Got back to even, then lost another pretty big pot with KK vs. AA (managed to keep half my stack though), was pretty much even for a little while, then things started getting interesting. Won three decent pots in quick succession: QQ that flopped a set for +$80 against a shorty, QJs that rivered a straight for +$40 (flop and turn were checked through), and AK that flopped TPTK for +$88. All 3 happened within 1 minute of each other. From there I just went on a nice rush. 3-bet KK against a crowd of cold-callers, 1 called me with QJs, I flopped top set and stacked his flush draw. Got AIPF against a shorty and a 100/89 with KK against their ATo and AKs and held. Got paid off big time when I flopped TP + NFD and turned the nut flush against a guy who called me down with TPNK. Overall, a very nice rush for my first $1k day.

LOL April...
  RAHZero, Apr 15 2007

Alright, so I haven't played anywhere near as much as I wanted to this month. Been pretty busy with school, life and random shit. All hands this month have been at NL 200. Last Saturday night (what is it with Saturday nights?) I was back home for Easter, so I put in a long session and ended up down almost $1k. Was a very swingy session, I went up about $150 early, then dropped a couple buy-ins, then got back into the green when I connected on a huge combo draw (9s7s all in on a 9x8s6s flop). Just a few hands later, I lost the biggest pot of my life (~$900) with KK against 9Ts in a RR'ed pot. So yeah, that sucked, and I played it pretty badly, and I was in the hole again. Finally lost another big pot with KxKh against 66 on a 6h3h2h flop, and decided to call it a night. Didn't really play after getting back to school, had to study for a big math test Thursday night (that I almost certainly managed to fail anyway). Played a little bit the last couple nights and made back about $800, so I'm back into the green for the month. After this week, school should be a lot less time-consuming until finals, so hopefully I'll be able to put in some more hands the second half of this month.

Not much to say...
  RAHZero, Apr 04 2007

Unfortunately (for my wallet, fortunately for my sanity?), school and life have pushed poker to the backburner for now. Haven't really played much at all over the last 2+ weeks. I played a total of 2 sessions over spring break, and only a handful since then. Over that span, I have run well at NL 100, and took one short shot at NL 200 in which I ended up half a buy-in. After March RB (less than half of Feb. rakeback since I didn't play much in March), my roll is about $6.2k. Obviously with the lack of pokering, my goal of $10k in 60 days won't be reached, since 60 days is up a week from today. However, my goal is still to hit $10k by the end of the month. I'm going to try and put in some more hands and reach 30k hands for the month (only hit 20k last month, my fewest in a while), but life has been pretty sweet lately without playing so much poker, so I'm not gonna force myself to play, as that's probably a bad idea.

Light at the end of the tunnel
  RAHZero, Mar 14 2007

Halfway to $10k about halfway through my challenge. Got a bit of work to do before Spring Break though, so tonight might be my last good session for a while. Prelim exam tomorrow night, traveling back home Friday / hanging out Friday night. Going to NYC Saturday for St. Patty's day, leaving Sunday for skiing in Vermont.

Long time...
  RAHZero, Mar 04 2007

Damn, it's been a while since I've updated this. Anyway, things haven't been going too well lately. I went on a small downswing at NL $100, and wasn't really sure what to make of it. Nothing big, less than -5 BIs or so, and I was still up at NL $100 overall. It's not really the money which nagged me either, but just the losing, and I'm not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing. I decided to play some NL $50 for a little bit, and that's only gone so-so. My BR is still over $3500, so obviously I haven't lost a whole lot, but something just feels off. Just got done with a short session at NL $50, was up like $36 after 466 hands and just had no desire to play any more. With that said, I think I'm going to finally actually take a long-term break from NL cash-games and give something else a try. Nothing too serious, but maybe like a week or so break to give SNGs or MTTs a try (UB SNGs seem really soft, only have a very small sample size, like 2 dozen, but my ITM is like 70%, and people seem to donk their chips off easily). They fill very slowly though, so I might have to keep playing NL $50 until I set up ePassporte and can get some money onto Stars. Either way, with February RB, my BR is still in decent shape, so I'm hopeful that I can still reach my 10k goal.
