need a stake
  shaw67193, Jan 24 2008

looking for a stake. i had to withdraw like 1/3 of my roll to cover irl expenses. then i went on permalifetilt (i'll give details over pm/aim if needed) for about 2 weeks and decided playing through it without moving down in limits early enough would be a good idea.

yeah.

so i was staked by gawdawaful back in sept, he made $800 (edit: jk only $750) off me after staking me with 500. i'll ask him about another stake, but he can vouch for me if he's not interested.

i can beat 6max and fr up to 50nl, i'm certain i can beat 100 6max, but i have like <50k hands there.

shaw67193 on aim, or pm me and we can talk.

thanks

considering dropping out...
  shaw67193, Dec 13 2007

...so i can play all night instead of studying for my two exams tomorrow.

<3 thursdays.

i've been having moderate success at 6max since switching from fr halfway through nov. i started at 100nl, varianced a bunch, moved down to 50. i learned 50nl kinda sucks and ended jumping to 9 tables (from 4) and playing a fairly robotic 17/14 game. after running at 2.65bb/100 over 27k this month (lol tilt+spew), i decided to take some shots at 100nl since i wanted to play real poker. seems to be working out so far.

thanks to my gf for her camera work.

(the following is how not to impress byrnesam )
she hates me at the moment. i'm sending flowers tuesday. she's back in boston now. hopefully things will be smoothed over within the next two weeks, i get to pick her up and bring her home for break (= 5 hrs in the car together...probably won't work if she's still hating me). this is her:

s'long fullring.
  shaw67193, Nov 16 2007

at MiPwnYa's suggestion, i tried some 6max. i've always liked 6max better than fr, but 25 and 50nl were so easy to open up 8-12 tables, nit it up, and watch the roll grow. this month i tried moving up to 100nl completely and struggled. after 43k hands at 100 this month (lolwtf? we're halfway through...i play so much lately), i'm down almost 1bi.

so i've been trying out 6max. i didn't move down to 50 because i'm pro like that. for the most part, i play 4 tables at a time, sometimes i open up 6 midway through a session. hopefully i can pick up some monitors for cheap next friday and start putting together a baller setup + play more tables.

my session today was 1500ish hands, i think its about time i posted a few to make sure i'm not making mistakes.

i don't like how i played this hand at all. i love playing deep in position, but poor hand selection leads to spots like this:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316343

this shortie had like 25+ pfr at the time, so i don't think this was terrible.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316344

questionable turn call but i'm getting good odds when i know etorp is stacking off any river.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316345

meh
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316348

check turn for pot control. i was planning on betting river if checked to/calling a decent sized bet. he bet like halfpot so i thought there was room for more value. standard fold if he had come back over the top after my raise?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316350

am i overvaluing AK preflop?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316353
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316376

thought i was running into a set. apparently i missed $1.70 of value
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316357

i thought this was okay despite his stationing. it gave me a good read on him...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316360

...and also gave me a good image! he played tons of pots with me after and got valuetowned often.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316363

wtf
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316378

this guy was like 40/40 so i started getting in pots with him. i ran pretty good and used lots of aggro to get some ez monies.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316386
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/316388is there a better line to take?

thats it for now. there's gonna be a contest in my next entry btw.

lessons?
  shaw67193, Nov 12 2007

who gives good fr lessons? i'm considering a 2-3 hour session. after moving up to 100nl, i'm up 2buyins over 37k hands :/ this is after running at 4-5ptbb/100 for the better part of two months at 50nl. it could be a running bad/confidence thing, but i've caught myself making a bunch of mistakes lately. maybe i should move down for a bit, too?

obvtober post
  shaw67193, Oct 31 2007

october was very +ev for me, here's the pics:

(last 7k hands is today, halloween. ugh i played so bad in session #1)
nearly 58k hands + take down a donkament, that's so sick. a new personal record by far in my short grinding career.

btw this was all on a stake for gawdawaful who i'm greatly appreciative of. i already sent him the initial 500 back and he graciously offered a deal where i just send 650 more by the end of the year; obv he's gonna get more than that as my way of saying 'thanks, yo!'

now bring on november

good at poker
  shaw67193, Oct 27 2007

my first session today rounded out a nice 6k -7bi struggle. here's tonight's session (gave up trying to 12table for now, but moved down to 9 instead of 8)

i have 40k hands for the month so far, already my highest monthly total. go me.

i'll update with some hands as i find them.

*********

big winners/losers:

first big pot of session. if i'm certain myk has a set, then i'm getting exactly the right odds to call still? and shortie's $17 makes it an ez stackoff, yes?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/303327

okay to check behind turn? i don't want to lose him by betting the ace.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/303324

wanted to pick up blinds + dead money from a 48/11. then he obv has AA so i play for great implied odds...but it's actually KK!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/303328

limped pot, both deep. is it ok to play so fast after his rr to 15?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/303326

last two are from end of session when i kept one table running to stack this guy running at 80/66/7 (was closer to 90/75 for most of the session).

first one to go to showdown v him. results are good but i don't know if i like it.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/303322

the big one. i would've hated for kid to raise there, bc i'm ready to play for stacks v prime while at the same time letting him maintain betting lead. thoughts?
