Yeah, this happened and my reaction was a calm shrug. I think my tilt control is improving. 2 months ago I would have freaked out.
wow

NL10 at pokerstars is so easy. I just made 41.10 in like 2 hours. Sicklife. PLZ LET ME WIN A FEW LOTTERIES TO MOVE UP QUICK THX YO.
Why play nl10?
Sliggy, Feb 12 2009
Why does anybody play nl10? NL5 is easier, the blinds are less expensive, and the pots are bigger! I get paid off with my huge hands EVERY time and the pots end up just as big as nl10 pots if not bigger (like 8 dollar pots). NL10 sucks!
My Training Regime
Sliggy, Feb 10 2009
Well today marks the like 6th time I've gone broke. NOT a winning player yet. I've been playing since October but I feel like I'm not as good as I could be right now. I can't even crack NL10. Something is wrong!
I will NOT be depositing anymore moneys. Here is my training regime:
1. Read through 10 hands a day on LP.
2. Read through 10 hands a day on PokerStrategy.com
3. Watch 2 videos on PokerStrategy.com
4. Read 5 articles a day on PokerStrategy.com
DAILY!
I will be doing this while I wait for my bonuses to come in. I have bonus whored and I've got like 3 $50 bankrolls pending. One on Absolute Poker (rigged), one on PartyPoker, and one on Mansion Poker. Once they come through I will (eventually) cash them all out and submit on PokerStars where I will play exclusively.
I will NOT tilt, when I take a bad beat or make a shitty call, I will take a break. Even if I don't feel like I'm tilting. If I go broke after training for a while, playing by-the-book poker on low stakes without donating any of my own money, I will be quitting.
Time to put the hours in and become a STUDENT OF THA MOTHAFUCKIN' GAME~
(I watch videos on PokerStrategy.com and use PS Elephant instead of Holdem Manager because I want to pay for a subscription to deucescracked and HEM with money I make from poker. Which so far is about -(embarassing number) dollars.)
Bonus Whoring?
Sliggy, Feb 07 2009
Hi.
I like bonuses.
During my rocky start to poker I've gone through quite a few bonuses on quite a few poker rooms. So far I've done
PokerStrategy
PokerRoomSchool
Liquid Poker
And I'm about to get the 2nd starting capital on PokerStrategy for Mansion Poker.
Are there any more? I'm still a losing player and I don't want to invest any of my own money if I can help it.

I need to stop watching HSP.
Sliggy, Feb 05 2009
HSP is so bad for my poker game. Trying to play like Sammy Farha is so -EV.
'
NOTE TO FELLOW IDIOTS: Don't ever make a move because you "saw it on HSP."
That's all.
How can I suck SO bad?
Sliggy, Feb 04 2009
Why do I suck so bad?
My usual day starts with me quickly running hot and ending up +2bi. I'm feelin' good so far!
THEN I make a good read / call based on HUD stats and call an obvious allin bluff with the lead. My opponent has 3 outs and he hits and I lose a big stack.
Now, I am NOT complaining about coolers / bad beats. These things happen and the fact that I made a great call is enough to override my one hand of bad luck.
The funny thing is after this happens, my deficit quickly gets huge as I make the MOST HORRENDOUS FUCKING BLUFFS / CALLS EVER!
ASODKSAODKASDKO
I hate myself right now. Some of these calls / bluffs I make when I'm steaming are not only an insult to a toddler's understanding of poker, but to my intelligence. These are calls and bluffs my girlfriend wouldn't make!
Note to self: If you get sucked out on, STOP MAKING BAD BLUFFS AND CALLS! THEY WILL NOT COMPENSATE!
I LIKE BEING A WINNING PLAYER! I'VE GOT TO STOP THIS OR I'LL NEVER MOVE UP!
Sudoku = Good Poker
Sliggy, Feb 02 2009
So I've discovered the absolute answer to tilting, lack of patience and discipline, and keeping your mind going.
SUDOKU! (Or any other form of distraction).
Being the ABSOLUTE donk / fish / ATM that I am, my poker mind has not yet developed. As such, I'm still tilting, playing too many hands, playing impatiently, and not thinking everything through before I act. I was losing money, but today I've had a huge winning session.
If I'm playing sudoku while I'm playing poker (sudoku book on my keyboard), I find it incredibly easy to look at the game more logically and get less emotionally involved.
1. I always wait for the best hands. Anything less distracts me from my sudoku.
2. I'm able to think logically instead of react, saving me from straight v flush hands and flush v full house hands.
3. I'm not phased or excited when I see jacks or queens because whether I'm playing a hand or not is fine by me. I don't get impatient and I'm not looking for any excuse to play a hand.
This is likely going to help noone but me because as far as I can tell I'm one of the worst on this site, but give it a shot anyway.
