[x] Get to 100NL from a $1000 roll
[x] Make Platinum star
[x] Play a shitload more hands

I made it to platinumstar 37 minutes before the 2x VIP status tourney starts, and I know shit about MTTs. So basically its gonna be a freerolling waste of time.

I've been at 100NL for about 3 days and my impression is that the games are beatable, people are readable, and emotional control is more important than ever.

I started running hot but the last two days I've dropped almost 1K. This was my third attempt at 100NL and as much as I hate to, I'll have to regrind my losses at 50NL. Seriously losing that much money in 2 days just...would make anybody's stomach turn. As of this writing I feel like total SHIT. I mean the kind of shit that breaks the emotional threshhold and my mind can't even comprehend the pain. Like I'll never be up ever again when just a few days ago I was on cloud 9...well here are the graphs.

These past 3 days have been pretty amazing to me. I especially appreciate pokerstar's redeposit bonus for luring all the fishies back to the site. What sucks is that I don't have enough extra money to redeposit so I have to borrow from a friend...sucks.

I feel my game has been improving but the thirst to learn has been pretty stagnant. However I'm doing lots of reading on and offline and all those positive affirmations I'm getting are helping lots. Read Mike Caro's article in Bluff magazine yesterday about the secret to poker being playing your Best "A" game all the time (Got a 12 month subscription for $15, shipdat). I'm pretty good about playing and quitting at the right times to avoid the tilt monster, especially since having almost finished the poker mindset.

I've earned 6600 VPP this month at stars NL50 6max. It feels like I'm a little behind schedule but if I put in an extra session every evening I might be able to reach platinum in time to enter the platinum promotion freeroll to become supernova. Well summer classes were over for me last week so I've been playing quite a bit with sooo much free time. Putting in more than 1k hands a day by 6-tabling and thats just fine by me. I've been rewatching some old CR vids and feel like I'm returning to my old game where I used to not be afraid to put money in with marginal but dominating holdings against certain players. However I'm making some spewy river calls that could be cutting into my winrate significantly.

Well even though I've been playing really solidly these past few days unfortunately the poker gods decided to take a scat on my face. I've been running pretty bad but I guess more beats are an indication of how well you're playing?

This is so goddamned aggravating. In July there is an iron man mid year bonus, where your accumulated status from January - June gets you qualified for bonus money depending on your status earned every month. Well I was eligible for $200 in bonus money. In June I played just enough days to get bronze status.



But came up short about 10 points two times in the last few days. So I emailed FTP support to see if they could do anything to award me my bonus money anyway.

I missed it by 20 points. TWENTY!!!! That's like fucking virtually $3 in rake. $3 in rake is grounds for losing $200? Such bullshit especially since I've been a loyal FTP player for so long. I'm one of the biggest advocates for FTP not being rigged but this bullshit negates all the bad beats I've suffered on stars. Nickel and diming pricks. Stars, here I come. So I kinda fell short of the monetary goals set in my last blog post which was 2 weeks ago. But that's fine because I put in double the hands in half the amount of time since then. Reaching that goal is fine by me.

So let me get this straight. You can be a 2-6bb/100 winner and still not beat the rake? My bankrolls this month have barely inched anywhere. Either microstakes rake really is atrocious or pokertracker is fooling me about my winnings/rake. I made almost 14 buyins at my limit this month and can't see anything lol. Someone explain this to me


in the meantime summer school is almost over for me so I will have all of July to play play play. My goal is to put in 50k hands this month 6-tabling 6max. If I don't build one of my rolls to $2k by August 1st I'm going to seriously rip out my pubes with bare knuckles and falcon punch the first person I see. Watch for me on the news

That's right... new version of Poker EV released today and the screenshots are pretty tight. The corners/windows are more clean cut just like the stars lobby. I dl'd the patch and it still looks the same wtf?

Then I find out for the past few weeks my hand histories weren't importing properly and had to DL the patch and figure shit out for 30 minutes. More tilt.

This past weekend I took 2 complete days off because I was tilting by relaxing, having lots of fun, and fucking. Twas awesome but I come back to play 1k hands today to run into some beats. This doesn't bother me at all but when the bad days stack together like this you start to question your own ability...

I read some past "quitting poker" threads to try to psych myself up for a comeback but poker has been weighing heavily on me for a long time I just don't understand...am I even a winner? The graphs says I am, PT says I am, but my BR doesn't reflect that. Here are some pics since May 20, almost a month worth of hands.




I'm afraid that because I was running hot, I won't be able to mentally handle running bad. Regardless, what am I doing wrong? Obviously I'm bleeding money in non-showdown pots. See I keep a tally of all my tilt moves on a post it. If I tilt, I record a strike and the amount I put into the pot due to tilt, NOT how much i lost. So heres my list by date / strikes / amount. I play NL50

been doing stupid shit again like taking fancy lines trying to push people off hands, all in bluff shoving without logic, you know. all those bad habits flooding in again. So not good...it could be because I'm forcing myself to play too much poker for too long in a single day, for my personal standards. Guess I have to take it slow and steady like I have been before I made my last blogpost and play only when really comfortable and without pressure.

Yeah. I'm absolutely fed up with not putting in enough effort/hands/momentum into poker. I've averaged at about 300 hands a day in the past few months and its gotten me nowhere. My 6 tabling sessions last about 300 hands and I get tired/spooked quickly. So basically I've been playing 1 session a day!

-I'm at NL50 with an $800 roll.
-I'm going for an average winrate of $60/day
-Aim to play 1000 hands a day, which is about ~2 long sessions or 3 short ones
-By my exact calculations, I'll be at NL100 with 2k at the very beginning of July
-If I can't put in the hands, I've just got no shot at poker

Is 10k hands a month acceptable? No friggen way. There needs to be a 25k hand graph in front of me for June or I will flip for rolls!!!
