close to 10k
  remember87, Nov 10 2008

I am getting closer to my next goal: the 10k line. Then I am going to start playing 2 tables NL400 and 2 tables of NL200. I feel like I am ready to step up one level and improve my game even more.
Today I ran good winning almost 6 BI over 750 hands. I got good cards, they held up and I VB marginal hands pretty good

One big leak I can see in my game is that my "money won $ without showdown" is going straight down. How normal is this? In a previous post I got the recommendation to see the CR vid "Myth of theRedline" to get rid of it. Any other ideas how I can get it better? Should I be even more aggressive (I have a 3,5 AF now) or should I just let it be and see how the line goes when I meet better opponents?

tired + poker = bad
  remember87, Nov 02 2008

Poker-SM was played on Unibet today so I thought I would give it a try. Well, not the best idea I guess. I am sooo tired, working all day with my parents so my head feels like a big balloon. 10 minutes after the tourney had started I already had lost 2 BI on FTP and I knew that the tournament would go the same way. I busted in an hour, in the end trying to do the wonderful "AA" utg limp-AI with 35bb. Unfortunally my opponent had QQ and I busted. Pretty happy still, I can go to bed early tonight!

math problem
  remember87, Nov 01 2008

I played a hand that became somewhat interesting.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/558808

First of all:
How would you have played it on the flop? Fold, raise, call-call or call-fold and why? Does the fact that the blinds may have a big hand effect the decision?

Secondly:
If I decide to push on the flop, how do I calculate my equity? How does the fact that oyvind has a hand effect the math?
Can I say: if either of the blinds have this range he will call and my equity will then be this. Is that even interesting? If not, how shall I do the math? How I calculate it is very interesting because it will effect my decision on the flop.

I am very thankful for input on this!

best day ever saves the month
  remember87, Oct 31 2008

Right now poker feels real fun again. The past week I have watched a lot of CR-videos and man, they are good! I have learned so much!

The biggest difference since before is that I am much more aggressiv.. Before I played about 17/13/3 with a 3bet % around 4. The past days I have played 19/15/4,5 with a 3bet around 7. I still might play a bit tight but its going in the right direction.

I also felt like I was reading my opponents much better compared to last week. Today I crusched the tables feeling like I knew exactly what they had all the time. So I won a bit more then 7 BI over 1300 hands. This isnt my biggest win in one day but I must say I have never played so good before!

So the past 2 days saved my pokermonth. I was going for the worst month ever but ended in only one of my 3 worst months.

Right now I am longing to get to November so I can get a nice winning month. I cant see with the CR videos and everything that I wont do that.
My goal right now is to pass 10k before christmas so I can start to play NL400 in the beginning of 2009...

Cheers!

rollercoaster week
  remember87, Oct 30 2008

I started the week great going up 6 BI. Then I began to play bad and started to lose the important AI situations, yesterday I lost 3 BI with AK v. KK in BvB situations pre.. So I dropped 9 BI in 2 days.

Today I played ok, some pots I played great but I also made som mistakes. This is the biggest mistake in my pokerlife so far:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/557825

I was 100% shure I had him but forgot to push the timebank while I was playing another big pot and I realized that the time was running out 1/100 of a second to late . I even pushed the timebank button before I folded but the site reacts so slow that my hand was folded...

Well, mistakes are meant to be learned from. I tilted in 10 minutes but when I´d calmed downed I realized that we were more than 400bb deep. Since he was a fish that had some luck I played oop for an hour but never got the chance to stack him off. Too bad... But I ended up more than 4 BI tonight anyway

on my way up again?
  remember87, Oct 25 2008

So I´ve changed some things since last posts.

I have watched some videos from stox and cardrunners to get up the feeling and to improve my game. So far I have picked up some things and more will be on its way. I feel this is such a great tool to improve that I cant see how I cant move up to 2/4 before new year. Since I have been running bad so far this month that will be my new short term goal.

I also started to play only 4 tables at the time so I can focus more on the players, finding good spots to make a move and to be able to extract maximum of value when I have a hand. So far it has gone better then expected! Today I won 6 BI over 800 hands and since I started playing 4 tables I won back half of my loss this month. Perhaps I even can play good enough to be able get +-0 this month? That would be fantastic!

training site
  remember87, Oct 22 2008

I have a slight dip in my feelings for poker right now since this is my worst pokermonth ever. Because I also have some things to do in school I dont make poker my first priority right now.

But that will change eventually. When that time will come I want to be ready to learn stuff from a poker training site. Until now I have been a member of Leggo Poker but that ended recently when my 6 months membership exspired. Leggo are good but I want a new site now!

What do you guys recommend me to join? Cardrunners or a smaller site like PokerVT? There is a ton of sites out there so its hard to know what to choose. If it helps, I dont care about omaha etc, just NLH cashgames 6 max What do you think is best for me?

Lots of livepoker
  remember87, Oct 18 2008

The past 2 days I have played a lot of poker live. It is so much fun! Especially when online is going pretty bad...

Thursday night I played 1/2 SEK, 200bb deep, with a couple of friends. When it comes to friends I dont want to play higher because the swings can be pretty big anyway and its unfortunate if someone looses too much. That night I can honestly say I played great poker and completely pawned at the table. I made hugh calls in big pots with Q high and 3rd pair etc. And the best was that I was completely shure I had them!
Normally I play pretty loose aggressive when it comes to livepoker but that night I loosened up even more playing like 65/50 in a 5-max table. I can say I didnt get much credit for anything! So I didnt try to outplay them with pure aggression and instead I played pretty passive. Since I didnt get many good cards either I guess that was a pretty good decision. But since I could read there souls and I was aggressive when I finally got a hand I ended the day well up!

Yesterday I played a tourney in Uppsala. Finally I found a "pokerclub" that plays pretty regularly. Unfortunally its a legal club so no cashgames are allowed since that would be "danger to the public" (or whatever its called in english, its a legal issue). They play a 300+30 tourney and afterwards there are some S&G. I didnt play that great going out early in the tourney but I took that back in the sidegames.
All in all it was pretty fun! I know I am not a tournamentplayer playing too aggressive in some spots and not knowing when to just wait for hands. But there is still lots of value in that club and I love livepoker so I think I will go there more times!

broke
  remember87, Oct 15 2008

So I´m broke. Everything´s gone, nothing left... But actually its not that bad. It was just my SS account where I had 184,75 SEK. A friend visited and wanted to play some poker. But I have put in a rule of not playing at FTP until I feel I can win again. And my gut was right. Lost with AK vs AQ AI pre.

Right now I´m trying to stop my friend from tilting away everything. He lost a couple of BI and decided to win like every pot. Since everyone usually does that on the lower levels on SS I dont believe he has good chances of succeding. Will try and play som CS instead...

complete slaughter
  remember87, Oct 14 2008

I wanted to test my new screen today so I put up 8 tables. I shouldnt have done that. I run like I have done all month and couldnt win one big hand.. Not that I played bad or anything, its just that nothing goes my way right now.. Just an example of how I am running:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/546651

I hvae only played 10k hands so far this month because of this. I went through my PT3 and saw that I have only won 6 (!) hands where I´ve won 200$ or more!! Thats pretty bad for playing NL200. I dont even want to go through how many losses I have... This is actually my worst month ever!

Well, I guess I´ll take some days off now. Maybe my luck needs a refill
