It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

There's this one episode in Louie where Stanhope is talking about how he's going to kill himself and it's the best episode out of all of them. Made me wish he had his own show instead of Louis C.K. There's a scene where he makes fun of Louis because he's drinking water instead of alcohol, and I think that's the real Stanhope right there. It amazes me that he's still out there doing his thing considering how poorly he takes care of himself. I wish Bill Hicks would've had the same luck. |

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by running away from the scene of an accident.

Im not sure who I like the most, Bill Hicks or Doug Stanhope, clearly Hicks is smarter but Stanhope is naturally funnier |

That's how I feel too. They can both be my favorite depending on my mood I guess. I could debate them both on one or two things, but I think Bill would be harder to debate with. I relate more to Bill's world-weariness; he was just too smart for his own fucking good and he was clearly depressed and antisocial as a result. Stanhope seems to be doing a lot better, even though he's just as cynical (or even more, actually, since Bill had salutary experiences on psychedelics). |

Yeah, Hicks is definitely on the curriculum too. I just watched his last standup performance. He was definitely ahead of his time. I love the bit on the evolution of ideas and improving the collective unconscious (really his whole stand up).
Some supplemental stuff off the top of my head:
Tool
Rage Against the Machine
Jimmy Hendricks
Joe Rogan Podcast
Any others?
Truth, humor, honesty makes me happy. |

Man
I am going through Tool lyrics. Deep stuff. I am thinking of other stuff.
John Olliver
Russell Brand
The Trews
Carl Jung
I would love to get in some discussion or just share experiences on all sorts of stuff. Seeking God or "God" or outright rejection of any Higher Power or Spirituality. Spiritual experience sober or through psychedelics. Anything. |
