  craimeariver, Dec 01 2010

this stupid promotion is killing all the fish at rush tables. everyone is a damn nit and im too stubborn and ignorant to adjust to it. down 7 BIs. with this speed ill need the 250$ bonus to be breakeven. i wish this stupid promo hasnt been there!
someone please tell me how to NOT play rushpoker anymore. normal ring games are so boring!

Rush #2
  craimeariver, Nov 16 2010

played more nl10 rush , made good moniez and took another shot at nl25.
this time i wanted to take a different approach at it. i dont wanted to be the passive scared donk from nl10 anymore and tried a way more active , aggresive style - what can i say?
just have a look:

haha this session had it all. from getting setOWNED 3 times in a matter of 2-3 minutes to hitting straight flushes to getting it in versus two fullstacks with aa against kk/qq and holding to be sitting with 137$ at one table....
still not entirely sure what to make out of all of this but atleast i can say that im beating nl25 (...for one day..)

BTW: to everyone with a pokerstrategy account interested in some nl10/25 videos i highly recommend TwiceT's videos in the series "Move it, move it up to the sky". hes following a nl10 player through the limits from nl10 to the sky...really entertaining!

Rush
  craimeariver, Nov 15 2010

Found a rakeback offer from Fulltilt in my Mail last Week and thought it would be a good time to play some poker again. Moved my roll to FT and started playing: nl10 rush.
so much fun and i literally went on a rush. made like 20 buyins in 15k hands. took a shot at nl25 and got owned for 4buyins. i tell ya nl25 is so stupid. nitty as fuck and no real degenerates like on higher levels. i know its a common meme here on lp to make fun about skipping nl25 but i really think about doing it. back at nl10 i had the most swingy 25k hands ever and eventually came out breakeven which leaves me sitting at 340$. questions is now: is rush really worth it? is it just a huge coolerfest? are there any LPers regularly playing at micro rush limits with positive results? like to share some tactixx?
graphs ,stats and some hands later when im home...

  craimeariver, Jan 18 2010

just wanted to update to remind me of my goals.
i cashed out almost my entire roll since my last blog. had to pay some stuff and bought extra xmas presents found a nice student job and im pretty busy with uni now. so ive become a very occasional poker player. just playing donkaments but im losing faith in online poker with every tourney i play. there has to be a doomswitch - im absolutey sure!!

last bustouts:

ak vs. a8 - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

jj vs. j10 - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

ak vs. aj - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

tp vs. gutshot - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

ak vs. aq - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

tp vs. 2nd - runner runner flush
+ Show Spoiler +

aa vs. ak - straight
+ Show Spoiler +

ak vs. ak - flush
+ Show Spoiler +

i know you people will say "standard!" , "fold pre!" , "donkaments lawl!" but theres a certain pattern if you know what i mean...
whatever , one day my doomswitch button will be broken or they will forget to push it and i will maybe win one of those hands untill then you will see my whine blogs here every few months or so

ftp nl25
  craimeariver, Nov 12 2009

i moved my money to ftp yesterday and against some of your advice started playing nl25. im rolled for it , its not like im playing superhighstakes and im okay with it even when i luckboxed my way up there.
1st session - what can i say , im probably just running hot:

i started 4-tabling and ended up 9-tabling most of the session. ftp feels much more loose and aggresive but i think thats only because of that betpot button. the fish just slams it from time to time and leaves me in weird WTF-moments whereas on stars they just minbet because they are too lazy to bet.the fish is just more active in general and thats probably quite good for me :D
one of my biggest leaks is that i cant fold my marginal hands to those damn 3bets that appear alot now at nl25. its too tempting to flop big and stack him because people NEVER EVER fold 3betted hands there...
anyways cant wait to get my 1st rakeback on friday - wooot!

doubled my roll...
  craimeariver, Nov 11 2009

...and feeling bad about it.

yesterday i was sitting here with a mate drinking beer and ranting about various poker stuff while browsing the lobby for cool games to spectate.after 1 hour and a few beers later i randomly click on a 1/2 table and a guy with a 900$ stack gets my attention immediately and im like "look at this lucky fag , sitting with almost 1000$ there!". my mate looks at the name and says "haha i know this guy. i was sitting on a micro 180 FT with him. he was shit talking to ppl all the time". we open up ptr.com and look him up. turns out hes -2000$ on 1/2 over 500 hands or so. we also find out that i donked off around 500$ over the past 2 years with my small deposits. we have a good laugh about my huge fail and then come back to the 1/2 table. my mate a bit drunk already proposes like a true degen "lets get this guys money!". naturally at first i say no but eventually he convices me to buy in for the minimum of 40$ (remember thats still 4 buyins at my regular limit) with the deal that if we lose it he will pay the alcohol next weekend.
long story short - after 30minutes of 1/2 gambling im sitting there with 308$ when i call it a day after losing our first bigger pot. we couldve won more of that guy probably but we played so scared money. we checked KK 2 times on a 25T9J board cause villain played his AT so aggresive and we didnt get it in with JJ on a AJ8 flop cause we were afraid of aces hahahaha.
so now im sitting here with a 500+$ roll ready to play nl25 just after 2 weeks of starting at nl2 with 50$ and im kinda feeling bad about it!

  craimeariver, Nov 09 2009

switched to 6max since the weekend and grinded nl5 until today. definately more fun than FR and definately more swingy
im at 250$ now and openened my first nl10 tables. feels good after 20k hands at nl5/2. its a pretty huge jump pot and betsizing-wise but i gonna get used to it.
heres my graph from the last few days:

i REALLY have to fix my red line haha!

1st breakeven session :
  craimeariver, Nov 04 2009

yea had my 1st breakeven session today. it all started pretty good. i was up 22$ until i got doomswitched and eventually had to stop the session after a 5BI downfall in a matter of 3-4 minutes...
i will take sanai's advice and do this: "Stay on Stars till $500 while grinding NL10. Switch to FTP, get bonus, get rb, play NL25."

couple of hands im unsure of:

medium overpairs! played correctly against "normal" NL5 players?

bonus hand! can i get away from this? this lead me to stop the session...

GG! re?
  craimeariver, Nov 03 2009

hey guys just wanted to introduce myself here. im a 23 year food engineer student from germany. been lurking for a while and decided to use this place to brag/whine about my poker restart.
i played for like 6months or so in 2007 , mostly 25nl and some in the end 50nl. made like 2k but lost the passion and eventually had to cash out all of it cause of real life circumstances.
deposited like 10-20 bucks a few times over the last 2 years just to satisfy the farha in me and donked it off immediately.
but now i want to take it seriously again. deposited 50$ to PS and started grinding 2nl the last week with the intention to move up to 5nl at 100$. i started running hot and now im already at 5nl - YAY to myself!
heres the graph of last weeks micro grindaments:

im planning to grind NL5 to 250$-300$ and move my roll to FTP to get rakeback. that would definately benefit me , right? or are there flaws with FTP nowadays? suggestions about that are welcome...

thats it! be nice to me LP!
