Meh
  dejokah, Mar 24 2009

So after breaking even for 5 sessions and watching my ptBB drop from 6 to 4,xx I was starting to get worried but I had this awsome 10 buyins session and it's all good now, well kinda I could be running so much better this week I've ran into so much beats/setups/coolers that I'm pretty sure a couple of months ago would totally crush my ability and will to play poker.

I just stopped a session due to 3 hands in a row where I got totally fucked, standard stuff to be honest but they happened in less then 5 minutes dif, witch is very T_T

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=659426

I started NL25 with 5xx$ and now I'm sitting at 1500$ (400$ from micro donkaments the rest is NL25) not sure what to do with them I have three options in my mind, take a NL50 FR shot, play some NL25 6-max to improve my postflop game or cashout leave like 600$ buy some cool stuff and keep playing NL25.

What do you guys think ?
How big is the leap to NL50 FR or NL25 6-max ?

I'm gonna make a decision by the weekend I love playing this game and the thought of improving makes me happy, but buying a cool 22 inch monitor a netbook and more 360 stuff also makes me happy. =p

Just finished another session and well I was UP now I'm breaking even for the past 3 days, that sucks madballz and I get all nervous and shit, but since there is a lot of BS going on I'm not worried hopefully things will go back to normal by the weekend.

Some interesting hands.

This hand I think I got outplayed villain was tight but would def raise AJ+/QQ+ (Of course there is that small chance he decided to slowplay something big this time but I don't think so) anyway after my C/R i narrowed down his hand to 55 and I had decided to fold but the 5 on the turn really puzzled me, well i got owned as you can all see.

Now this, villain was supreme fish style so from the start I thought valuetown was going to be my destination, 7 on the turn made me think for awhile fishes call gutshot way to often but I decided to bet and see where I stood, when the magic 7 doubles on the river and he checks I narrowed down to 68 or open ender hitting trips and checked behind, I was almost right. =p

I missplayed this awfully, bunch of loose limpers I pump it up and weird flop comes, everyone checks so I assume my JJs is awsome and lead 2 callers blank turn (or so i thought) and I put at least one of them in AsX flush draw and decide to try and donk him, somewhere along the hand i considered the possibility of a slowplayed set but hey maybe even against set i have some FE right, and if he calls I still have some outs.

Well all my assumptions of the previous hand were wayyyy of, can't blame a brotha for trying tho.

QQ Hands

I have tons of hands like this for the past few days. T_T

Robot Poker
  dejokah, Mar 18 2009

Hello fellow LPers I need some poker oversight.

Even tho I'm a winner in NL25 (6ptBB over 30k+) I think it's time for me to start thinking a little bit different, I'm currently 8 tabling so most of my play is standard and I know that works but I do have the intention to move up and I don't think my current game is gonna cut it.

I'll try to describe my thinking process and game plan so more experienced players can give me tips on how to improve.

So far most of the play happens PF I know very little about playing short handed and I'm horrible at HU so I think my postflop play is flawed in many aspects, basically what I do is base my decisions (C/R/F) on player stats and take it from there I don't pay attention to hands that I'm not participating because to be honest I don't even think I have the brain power to do so, I do make plays like squeezing pots and re-steal based on CBET% and 3bet% and I'm pretty sure i get it right most of the time, I understand the concept of fold equity but rarely use it because the people I play with rarely fold. (They never fold overpairs or sets even in the most atrocious kind of board)

I can recognize "types" of players and I have a basic idea on how to exploit aggro donks and extreme nits by letting them value bet themselves on the first case and doing unorthodox stuff on later.

The reason I'm posting this is because playing like C3PO 80% gets old and I want to evolve, I appreciate advices and comments.

Thank you all.

Damn - Question
  dejokah, Mar 18 2009

Is it normal to get stacked against sets 10 times in the same day ? (Serious Question)

I feel bad, been getting this awesome cards and down 6 BIs I'd say that almost 50% of my overpairs got beat by set today and I'm not gonna even talk about TPTKs.

Now when I get QQ+ instead of YAY i can't help but think, meh here we go again.

Micro Brag
  dejokah, Mar 14 2009

yey!
Even microstakers have the right to brag amiright ?

NL25 going smooth there are so many people lost, so many short mid stakes who don't have any ideia what they are doing and regulars who are tighter then a catholic virgin ass.

Walk in the park so far.

Back on track
  dejokah, Mar 13 2009

I just took a major break from poker.

After the last major tilt (last post) I managed to keep loosing until there was only 50$ left (less than what I started)

I lost all will to play poker for awhile, it's hard to handle tilting your whole bankroll. (even if it's only a microstakes roll lulz)

Anyway I've been playing for the past few weeks and made my way back to NL10 from NL5 in the first week, after that I was crushing NL10 with a ridiculous 17 ptBB and working my way up to NL25 when I cashed 300$ in one of those low buy-ins donkaments (4th place) now I'm playing NL25 with a nice roll and people are just trowing money at me, so fast >_<.

Almost 1k$ and Goldstar so I'm pretty happy but still can't help but wonder where I could be if I didn't screwed up last time arround NL25.

Mad Tilt
  dejokah, Dec 17 2008

Meh, I'm in a state of mind where I don't feel any pain but I'm sure that in a few hours from now I'll be feeling like the stupid motherfucker I am.

All those hours of grind are gone, tilted away in NL25, 300$ or 12BI over 5k hands of nonstop playing like a sick degen.

For those who like to see the idiocy of others a compilation to my own stupidity.

And the very best of the hands I played:

Moving UP!
  dejokah, Dec 16 2008

Farewell NL10 we had good times.

I was running bad (breaking even) for a few sessions and decide to take a day off, watched the whole Death Note series (anime) 37 episodes (20m each) and it's definitely one of the best animes I've ever watched even if you don't like the genre i really recommend this one.

After that short break I made 2 really good sessions and now I'm rolled for NL25 with exactly 20BIs (500$) and it feels good to move up now, it was faster then i expected, this is my final (hopefully) graph in this limit.

I played much more MTTs then i thought in this period and I broke the bubble in 2 of them for 26$ and 43$ and i thought i was UP in MTTs but the PT data proved this to be wrong I'm down about 20 something and I don't know if I should keep playing them while grinding does anybody has some experience with grinding and playing MTTs every once in awhile ?

Anyway I also wanna ask people to take a look at my stats and see what they can tell me from that, I know this is not an exact science but maybe there is some major problem I'm unable to see.

Also regarding stats I would like to ask more experienced players about using stats to make the correct plays, for now the only thing i look for is VPIP and PFR, this is enough to differentiate donks from regulars but I think on NL25 there might be more than 2 tipes of players so any help regarding this is highly appreciated.

People in NL10 don't 3bet at all unelss they have a real hand so %3bet and %fold3bet it's really not an important stat, I'm expecting this to change in NL25 so that's why i wanna know more about interpreting stats.

Thanks for reading everything I really look forward to see other players impressions.
