February Results

I haven't played a lot of poker since I have been busy with a lot of shit going on in my life but I just recently started putting in some volume. Started to focus on poker a lot more this month with my free time.
Been exclusively playing RUSH poker now thats its been out on full tilt. I gotta say I love it, very exploitable, 3betting a lot more than I ever did especially with Ax suited and big broadway suited connectors. C-betting nearly 100% of the time as well and just checking the turn if i missed. Occasional random bluffs here and there when I feel my opponents are weak..
Although I have to admit, I think my skills have regressed somewhat due to the nature of RUSH poker. Definately takes more thought and balancing to play regular 6max 50NL than to play RUSH. I don't know if I could ever go back to playing regular 6max again though.. it seems so slow now.

So add another $100 for my bonus and +$100 in rakeback i think
I plan to put in way more volume in march
Rush Poker + New thoughts on how to improve
beastmode, Jan 26 2010
Been playing RUSH poker for the past few days and its been kind've a shitfest
Was up quick the first 1-2 days, probably up around 5 buy-ins or so at 50NL 6max
I was playing very agressive, 3betting a shitload, open raising with hands like A5 suited, 89 suited from early/middle position, raising 100% of the time from the CO or button..
then i started to play TOO loose..calling 3 bets with Ax suited, Q10s hell even almost all pocket-pairs
pissed away all of that, probably lost around 8 buy-ins or so... sickening. was trying to bluff everybody with almost all my hands
REALIZATION:
I need to stop thinking that I have to "outplay every opponent and win every raised pot"
i realized I started playing a lot of "junk" hands to try to get lucky and "exploit" the nits but i just ended up fuckin myself over by 3 barrel bluffs, being involved in big pots OOP with minimal hands
Play smart and aggressive, choose to make big pots when I have a big draw/big hand
Win and KEEP the pots small when I need to, these situations arise more commonly than the big pots
one mistake I know I make is that Im always trying to bully over players and shit hits the fan when i'm OOP and i start bluffing away my chips HU
Playing like that I go into huge swings where I'll be sitting deep stacked (+3 buyins) then proceed to lose my profit over maybe 2 hands and then go up huge again and bluff away half of it, etc...
Gotta start choosing better spots to make plays and I'm still playing too many hands,
NEED TO IMPROVE: i c-bet nearly 100% of the time, must vary it in with checks when i miss the flop and checks when I hit the flop
Tried to make adjustments today and start myself "fresh" since I spewed away most of my profits back down to 1k now. I'm adopting the mentality that I'm starting over again at 50NL since 1k is what you need to play this stake.
My first RUSH poker session in a couple of days:
Just started this blog

Keeping a blog here to record some random poker related things
Started with $150 on PokerStars, played 25NL eventually got my roll to $600
Then deposited $600 into Full Tilt and have been playing on it ever since
Ran $600 deposit into $1k and moved up to 50NL
Have been playing 50NL since October 2009 and today is now January 19th 2010
50NL has been frustrating I feel like I have been getting very unlucky and possibly spewing some
But i've been break even now over the past 3 months, even lost money at 50NL
Running like complete shit, before in December i was at 2.5k and had a 5.5bb/100 hands win rate..
now its time to put in the work on my game and improve
