Lazy November
Big_Rob_48, Nov 30 2007
A really good month winrate wise, but I played such a small amount of hands. I did however, hit 10k on the month with the supernova rakeback rate.
I want to grind MSNL for like half a million in my life, and invest it, and be a millionaire from poker by the time i'm 30, as well as have a normal job I enjoy. These are some things I think about a lot during the day, do any of you 10k+ a month guys think about this stuff too? I'm just 21 right now and I think it would be easily achievable if I was just smart about poker and smart about life.
2+2 sucks
Big_Rob_48, Nov 07 2007
I have been reading up on 2+2 a little bit lately, mostly midstakes, and I just hate all the shit they talk about, all this theoretical stuff that make me think like "maybe if you got a little more fundamentally better you should worry about that, but you aren't so quit talking about making some kind of crazy fold and learn how to play simple poker better",
exhibit 1 is this thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sho...ber=12854726&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1&nt=2
"When to fold a set for how many bb's?"
Then Aislephive, who seems to be a long time and esteemed poster at that site, says "I don't "love" getting it in, since we're behind a decent amount. I'd get it in because I think it's +EV though."
So you're behind a decent amount with a set(??? WTF???) and its EV+ to get it in if you are behind a decent amount? OK..... that makes PERFECT SENSE.
The players on LP just seem so much less douchey and open to new ideas and have helped me get a lot better, 2+2 just pisses me off half the time, i'm sure their high stakes is probably really good and stuff but they just have so much BS.
End rant i guess just thought like posting this for fun
October good
Big_Rob_48, Nov 05 2007
So October started out with me running massively hot, and I played really well too, because thats what you do when you run hot, you can relax and play your game with confidence and with out making stupid "make up" spews.
I stopped running hot at 200 nl and played terrible over 30k hands, not proud of this. But who cares I guess, best month ever:
I also made 1k on cake poker, and then about $2400 worth in fpp bonuses from pstars so 14.6k + 1k + 2.4k = around 18k on the month.
Not bad for 85 hours of playing since i 10 table 1k hands an hour : ) .
This month is really getting me thinking of how I owe it to myself to take advantage of making this kind of money, I can make around $200 an hour of which I have concrete proof for over 4 months its my average. I feel like i should take a semester off of school or something and make like 100k boom boom shake the mo'fuckin room
Brag
Big_Rob_48, Oct 03 2007
I only do blogs when things are good, last month was my worst month in 4 months, barely made anything compared to what I did in the summer. So I wont talk about that.
Here is my best day ever, almost 26 buyins in 5k hands.
I run hot
Big_Rob_48, Jul 26 2007
Running hot, that is all.
Made 2 questionable folds vs ActionDJ, I never make questionable folds, only questionable calls, I like the comments on them so far, I like going broke in the QQ hand more now, especially since i notice his AF is like 6 so far in my pt database.
month and 400 nl
Big_Rob_48, Jul 02 2007
Well on a good note this is my results from my best month ever, june:
And here are my results from today
Basically, I think 400 nl is a lot harder. I feel like I am getting outplayed a lot more. I did take a few bad beats though... freaking bethere.com called an all in with 44 against my 99 for stacks preflop and 2 outted me... oh well, at least i didnt lose money, i was down $1800 after 5.5k hands and said fuck that and made it all back the last 2k hands.
I also really want to take lessons from someone successful at midstakes games, I think it would help my game a lot... still looking though.
Best day ever

Woulda been 4k if this shit didn't happen at the very end:

Oh well, I bad beat a few people as well so I'm not too upset. Gonna play 400 nl soon I think after today.
Next level
Big_Rob_48, Jun 13 2007
So I think I can beat 200 nl for a sustainable winrate, probably 3 pt bb by now... I wanna get to the next level and really start to become a poker player.
i'm thinking about getting lessons from someone, i'm thinking maybe straate or talentedtom or even like nazgul. just someone who i know is really freakin good, i think an hour or two would really open my eyes and take me to 400 nl and up.
I also know Iamalex beats midstakes pretty well lately on FTP, i'm friends with him and might ask him as well... I asked him b4 and I think thats why I can finally beat 200 nl is cause i learned a lot of things from that lesson... overall i'd say lessons are probably great value for what you pay.
June stats
Big_Rob_48, Jun 13 2007
So I have been playing a lot of poker, and I really think I am getting better finally. I 10 tabled 200 nl playing 26/21 for like 3 weeks straight and lost a looot of money. I couldn't focus on my opponents, I wasn't good enough to play that aggressive, and that sort of style doesn't even fit the games i am playing.
I now play around 7 tables at once, and have noticed I can play soooo much better, and I think I had tilt problems with 10 tables. I can now lay down QQ to 4 bets from nits.
My BR right now is 19k, and I have 250k in fpp and I'm a supernova. I am thinking about moving to 400 nl, but I think it would be smart to obtain a 3 ptbb winrate over like 50k hands straight to make sure I can play well. All I know is i'm jacked up about poker lately... playing less tables makes me feel like I'm actually getting better and doing the best i can.
oh yeah, stats for june so far:
visiting vegas, 200 nl
Big_Rob_48, May 07 2007
So I am going to be going to vegas with my brother this coming weekend... and i got a question... I am only 20 years old, will it be easy for me to play some poker? I am going to use my brother's passport cuz he is only 2 years older than myself, so i hope that works, should i have any problems? And i play 200 nl, where should i find games that i should play in? I assume there is some Myth post about all this probably.
Anyway, I have been playing 200 nl the last two days.
I think the reason for these great results is three things in order:
1) BARELY ANY REGULARS - which play somewhat tricky and can outplay me in certain ways which sometimes leads me to tilt...
2) NO TILT - no regs, readable players, and running well
3) I'm getting better (hopefully, haha)
And oh yeah, what to do here 3 handed against Frinkx, i figure this river saved me or screwed me:
