So last night I took my family out to dinner to a Thai restaurant. One of the dishes was some rather thick noodles. Just now I ate the leftovers and found a fucking rubber band in my food. It looked exactly identical in shape and color to a noodle except I chewed it for at least 10 seconds before I realized something was wrong.

Anyways my hot 600nl streak ended, went down about 7bi yesterday and broke even today. I haven't been using PT because I can't access my old hard drive yet.

New Comp!

My old comp broke, I shed an emo tear for it, and bought a new one a few hours ago.

Here are the specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU
920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7 GHz
Memory: 6632 MB RAM
Gfx: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
DAC Type: Internal DAC (400MHz)
Total Memory: 2293 MB

I got it for $999.99, and so far I've gotten the impression that I got a pretty good deal. One thing I'm concerned about is the Internal graphics card; does this mean it's difficult to upgrade it? Is it much worse than external graphics cards?

Also, I still have my old hard drive from my broken computer. I'd like to salvage some files from it if possible (assuming it's not corrupted). My roomie told me I need some sort of encasing mechanism to use it as an external hard drive. Since it has an operating system on it, I don't think I can exactly hook it up via a USB cable and acess it. If anyone has some idea of how to do this, please help.

So very lame

Two nights ago my desktop computer randomly shut down by itself during the night. I noticed this but didn't bother getting up to check it out (assumed it was a windows update or something). The next day I turned on the computer but there was no monitor display. The keyboard and mouse weren't lit and there was no change for about 5 minutes. I restarted a couple more times and finally got a display, but then my computer just automatically just turned off after a few seconds.

I thought it might be loose cables or something inside the computer so I disconnected the hard drive and all the dvd drives. This solved nothing. I'm guessing either my motherboard is fried or there's something wrong with the power supply. It's also possible that something (either cpu or motherboard) is overheating. I'm no expert and don't really know how to deal with any of these problems.

So I took out my laptop and hooked it up to the monitor I was using with my desktop, and was met with yet another problem. The external monitor would keep blinking every 3 seconds or so, non-stop. I proceeded to update all my drivers and stuff but to no avail. I'm guessing my laptop inverter is broken as well. FML.

If anyone has any ideas about how to fix any of these problems, please let me know. Otherwise I'm probably gonna buy both a new desktop and laptop this weekend. Ran ridiculously good today (even though I had to deal with a stupid 17" screen) so I have it financially covered for the most part.

I need halps, and my midterm is in an hour!!

So I have access to a practice midterm, but not the answers. I don't know why the prof decided not to release them. Anyways it doesn't matter much since I can just compile and run the code for answers.

A few questions:

1. What is the output of this program fragment?

I dunno what System.out.format is. Wtf is %7.3f%s?

15. Suppose you wanted to use a function to initialize three (already declared) variables that are not fields of a class. Further suppose you are doing this in a language that allows passing parameters either by value or by reference. To initialize the variables,

A. you should pass them to the function by reference and set the values in the function; the variables will be initialized when the function returns.
B. you should pass them to the function by value and set the values in the function; the variables will be initialized when the function returns.
C. you should pass them to the function by value, set the values in the function, then return these values via a return statement.

I mentioned that I don't have the answers and this is one question I can't "test." I was thinking A but am not sure. You're supposed to pass variables to functions by reference, right?

II. delete the temporary storage associated with the formal parameter
III. do whatever work is necessary to determine the actual parameter‘s value

200NL so far

So I decided to play some 200nl mostly to test the stakes and compare my winrate to my regular 600nl winrate. So far it's going nicely and I'm hoping I can sustain it.

I did suck out twice but they were pretty unavoidable cooler-type hands.

The players including the regs seem a lot less aggressive save for a few people who are in love with 3betting pf with random hands.

Was pretty sure I could get him off an overpair here (pretty sure he had it)

Free Hand Database?

My friend/housemate is just getting into poker and can't really afford PT or anything like that with his current roll, but I think it'd help him to have a database for his hands to view stats and graphs and stuff (a HUD would be awesome too). Anyone know of a free software for this?

Just played a short session and ran really good.

Had supfoolio on a hand like JTc or KJc, and the random on something dumb like AXo. I was wrong about supfoolio but I think it was still the right fold.

Was almost scared on river (obviously not folding tho), but him holding a heart draw made no sense.

Other hands were just me winning flips and flopping sets then busting aces. Lost some medium sized pots to shorties but that's standard. A good start to february altogether.

Very shitty month overall, but could be worse as indicated by the graph. Ran unbelievably bad mostly; lost nearly every allin with AA/KK, literally every AK/QQ flip for like 10 flips in a row, etc. I also played kinda bad for a while, was calling too many thin river vbets thinking they were bluffs. Oh well, hopefully feb will be better. On the bright side, I have about 300 pages of bio to read for midterm next week.

Really weird thing, I posted this blog last night but it ended up fusing with a hand that was being simultaneously posted on the right side. The topic name was like "Qc 5c by w1cked" or something but it was in my blog. Oh well, here it is again.

Played a pretty long session last night, tables looked juicy and they indeed were. Overall up a couple BI, which is a good change from all the losing. I should be up a lot more, but I can't complain...

Here are some hands

Not sure if I played this badly or not. Little info about villain, other than the fact that he loves calling 3bets pf and seems pretty loose all around. Also plays very aggressively with draws on flops, which is why I didn't think he had the flush on the turn. His range is mostly medium PPs on turn and I didn't think he plays set like this.

Should I raise anywhere in this hand? Villain is a spastic dumbass who basically plays any suited/connected cards pf. His AF is very low however, so I dunno...

I feel like I played this badly but not sure what I should've/could've done. If I raise turn my hand basically becomes transparent. HighPockets is the retard fish I was talking about so his raise doesn't mean anything at all. Hartiedd1 seems tag (16/13/forget) but his line on turn was weird, I didn't give him much credit either.

Can't seem to have a winning session, quite annoying. Went from up 5 bi to down 7 bi in the last 3 weeks or so.

Maybe if I bitch and moan enough...

I'd post HHs and perhaps a graph but I'm gonna go play sc 2's with a gook. Peace.
