Stupid Internet by DustySwedeDude, June 26

Still no internet at my new place. I'm at my parents' place now and figured I'd just put a blog post out there stating that in case someone have tried to reach me on skype/facebook/whatever I have not gone nuts or anything but rather just not been able to get internet working yet. Should be back within a few days or a week at the most.

Have a good week guys.

Some Observations by RiKD, June 26

Summer is nice

especially when it's like 60 degrees at night, 70 and sunny during daylight. (sup SD ppl prolly should just figure out how to live in SD am i wrong?)

Rose wine is too sweet (for me)

malbec u gotta drink w/ like some chorizo o bife de lomo o batatas (for me)

pinot is where it's at if you are messin around w/ herbs de provence and evoo and lemons and seafood and birds and shit

get your heart health/fitness up. it feels GOODMAN. especially in this summer sun/atmosphere.

produce is fucking GOODMAN. i'm hoping for this shit to be exceptionally excellent until like aug, hopefully sept.

summer reading.

what ya'll reading?

sup london blokes.

NYC weekend of the 20th. i have never even been there before which may or may not be embarrassing?

personally not ashamed that's just how it went.

since i've never been there i'm down for whatever. i'm stayin w/ a bronx local so if anyone has suggestions i'm sure me and the 2 london blokes will appreciate. if not fuck you, we don't have a clue i'm sure we'll figure something out and have fun anyways. you could always join and be an appreciated mentor or if you don't have a clue either an appreciated accomplice. the more the merrier.

everyone is just trying to live, hopefully, occupy yourself w/ something stimulating/fun. make a little money, live somewhere, eat something, have a little extra to try and find meaning in this thing we call life. in this thing we call existence. in this thing we call w/e you want to call it.

holla

Damn by thewh00sel, June 26

Thought I was going to win a bracelet, was top 3 going into day 2 of the 1k wsop yesterday. Was sick as a dog and never got anything going but I don't think being sick affected my play too much. Might have missed a couple small live reads from not being able to focus super intensely in hands that I wasn't in, but tables were breaking so fast that I don't think it hurt me too much. We came back with 297 people left and I ended up finishing 40th when I shipped 88 with 100k at 3k 6k over a btn raise and sb flat from two weaker players. The button called with 66 and the sb had kings. Would've been nice to spike and have 300k but I guess it wasn't to be.

I was a little upset after the hand since the sb did kind of look like he wanted to 3b pre but looking back I can't say I woulda played it differently. 88 is just too strong there since stacks were kinda shallow; I gotta think he would 100% 3b 99-JJ and prob QQ too. And ive seen him flat out of The blinds a few times already. So that leaves a button open and only a couple hands that beat me for the sb. So I'm happy with it.

Only a few more tourneys left before the main event...hope I rip one off.

Losing sesh!! by jvilla777, June 26

Man it's funny how 1 losing session can make u feel so low, that you end up overlooking your past winning sessions. I feel that its just losing in general can make anyone feel so low. In any type of competitive game nobody wants to lose.

I broke my buffer for 16nl as I have done in the past limits. Once I lost a total of 2BIs at 16nl plan was move back down but as usual I couldnt help my self and kept playing with over self confidence/tilt mode and proceeded to lose 6BIs at 16nl. I know this is simply chump change for the many players here at LP but we all started somewhere right? JoelIngram's last blog I jokingly asked him whether he started at the micros since now is super baller and he humbly replied that he started at 25nl or 50nl and he even had early blogs about his poker career. That shit jus motivates me like daaaamn!!

anywayz here is the damage.

Challenges... by g_arroyo11, June 26

Hi guys, my name is Gerardo and I'm from Mexico. I've been reading the mind=blown thread because of a friend (rubbago) and that got me inspired. The deal is that my life is kind of weird right now and I'm trying to get it right.

I've decided that I need to get 3 things right first and everything will be easier.

-I want to reach NL100 by the end of the year.
-I play football but I have overweight right now due to several things that I will explain.
-I want to get myself together speaking about my love life.

http://i.imgur.com/0Sd6v.jpg
This is written in one of the walls of the Borregos Monterrey football team's gym

NL100

Well here's a quick overview, I started from zero. I got like 6 dollars from playing freerolls and started playing 1.50 HU's... yeah, well that was dumb. I almost busted then got another 6 dollars and started playing NL2 and reached NL25 until yesterday that I made a pretty bad call playing 6-max tables so I'm back to NL10.

My goal depends on volume and discipline, I know it won't be easy but I'm hoping to achieve my goal.

-Weight Issues

I started playing poker a year ago because I used to play football at college but in one practice some guy fell in my knee and well, goodbye ACL. I got really depressed because of this and some other things I'm about to explain.

The thing is that I gained like 25 kilos and I need to lose them by October so I can return to play. Altough here in Mexico we don't have like a Pro league there are a lot of teams that pay you and 3k a mont just for playing 3 weekends sounds pretty nice to me.

I will eat right without starving myself like today I ate meat, rice a lot of lemon water (yes, because if you don't know bottled water is bad for your body) and some fruit.

My goal is to lose at least 12-15 kilos by October and of course being a lot stronger than I'm now.

Love life

Here's is the biggest thing to change. Two years ago I leaved my city an traveled 1000 kms just to accept an scholarship and be beside my exgrilfriend. She was mean really, really mean so I'm kind of traumatized about this. This is one of the reasons I gained weight I didn't want to sleep and most important somedays I didn't want to wake up.

I want to get back on track with my life so I write this because I will be posting like summaries every week and I will keep kind of a diary in an outer blog: http://somesortabull.blogspot.mx/ because sometimes it could get boring.

I also will be posting updates in my Twitter and any advice would be helpful. TYVM in advance.

BTW I write in TLpoker but in spanish and there I posted like a bonus. It's a picture of one of the girls I used to date, she's a cheerleader for a LMB baseball team and of a soccer team. I'm not traying to brag, but the truth is that she's really pretty I think and she wanted something big but when things got real I ran away, yep trolling accepted because of this.

+ Show Spoiler +

TYVM for reading this .

And So the Race has Started by mnj, June 25

Hello, some of you may know me not by David (my real name) but as naranjito, an ex brood war player from Peru.

My motivation in creating this blog is to keep track of my success/failure and to know if I'm really cut off to be a professional poker player (that's my main motivation, although very improbable, but I'm gonna try).

My goal is to sustain myself with something that I really like to do, and not what I must do (boring works, etc). Although my ultimate goal in life is to make a movie (or several) and for that I need the monies. Monies that I will earn from poker (a game I'm really enjoying as of late) hopefully.

The Start

So, long story short, my bw mate iG.Fenris talked to me about pokerstrategy, and how I got 50$ absolutely free to play poker at party. I didn't believe this at first but everyone in the bw community was talking a lot about poker, so I really wanted to try it, and got my first 50$ in January, about 4 months ago. I have a lot to thank to Fenris even if he just casually talked to me about poekrstrategy. He isn't much known here I guess but he makes a lot of money from poker, high stakes.

From there I learned everything I could from the pokerstrategy articles, and since I thought the shortstack strategy which they promoted was really gay, I decided to play with a full stack since the beggining.

I realize now that I got mass lucky, because I earned up to 150$ in my first wekk, by playing a lot and basically going all with in NL10$ just with Top pair, top kicker on the flop. Crazy ignorant days.

I thought poker was sooo easy, that I cashed out the 100$ that I earned and was ready to try again, little did I know that I was going to lose my last 50$ in a couple of days.

From there I decided to really put effort into learning the game properly and bumped into this great place Liquidpoker.net, I've learned a lot from this and pokerstrategy. I gotta come clean and say that I'm still a breakeven player at NL25$(but huge winner in NL5$ and NL10$), a winner in MTT's and a small winner in SNG's.

Bankroll

I have a 650$ bankroll at partypoker. I have cashed out all my tourney wins to not lose them like I lost 400$ in cash games NL200$ from a tourney I won. I'm not gonna make the same mistake. I have a "potential bankroll" at my bank account of about 1200$ from my tournament winnings, but I'm not gonna deposit that again until I'm a big winner at NL50$, and I'm ready to go to another website to take advantage of rakeback and promotions.

The Present

I think I'm getting better at this game, but my main weakness is that I still get bluffed a lot and fold better holdings. I play a little too scared sometimes, and sometimes (although much less than before) I tilt and can lose 50$ in a blink. I'm following what Nazgul said at some interview, and just playing really good hands at micro limits, just slowly grinding until I adquire more experience.

Last sunday

On a side note just recently I won a 3$ subqualifier to a 26$ qualifier to the 300K$ Sunday Partypoker tournament. Actually I won 3 of those subqualifiers, but I just won once the 26$ qualifier so I played the sunday tourney last sunday. Sadly I lost after the 2nd break and got 500th position, just got 1 AA and from there my best holding was AQ. Not my best tourney but I will try to qualify again through the same method.

The Future

I don't really see myself doing anything else than playing poker to earn money. Luckily my dad earns enough to give me comforts so that I don't have to work while I'm studying at the university, and that gives me plenty of time to poker everyday.

I'm gonna be a winning high stakes player. And from there I will be a professional poker player. I know I can do it, but I also know it will be hard.

Good luck to all, see you next week dear blog.

Locoo20

PS: next entry will be much more entertaining and fun. Actually I dont expect anyone to fully read this until I'm fairly known and have the monnies, then hopefully new players will read the beginnings.

Hi there LP by whamm!, June 25

Any of you guys know a good book on charting or technical analysis for beginners? I want to use metastock but feels like it looks so complicated for a beginner i get lost on the terminologies alone.

As for life updates I've been messing around with stock trading(marginal success) and reading books on importation/export just in case something comes my way. Life is much more stable on all fronts since quitting poker but I might start to play again soon just so that i dont keep withdrawing money from my savings.

Took a break from watching too many movies and it's good that there's just shit out there since being inactive. Looking forward to spiderman and batman plus some other ones but mostly just watch stuff in the movies and rarely downloading.

It's funny since I've been dreaming of having money and not having to worry about poker for the past 5 years and now that I'm living that dream I don't really feel that much different lol. I need something more concrete to do that is not online nor poker related to be around people more, I tried forcing it by going out a lot and I ended up drinking almost daily and my age is starting catch up to me since alchohol zaps my energy the following day. The LP force is still very strong with me though so I've still been checking almost daily haha.

Hey guys check this podcast out( fucking hilarious)
http://tenminutepodcast.com/

^^ will sasso, chris delia and bryan callen. standup comics who just fuck around for 10minutes. its a good breather from those joe rogan podcasts which take hours of your time but I still always listen to Joe because it helps me a lot in getting great perspectives in life.

Super fish on my right by KoeBawlt, June 24

I got jesus seat on a super fish. This guy's beautiful, he'll ship pf with almost anything and is only slighty tighter postflop. Dud'es sick lucky tho, I've lost 8 buyins to him so far and he quickly ships those to the guy on his right.

This is still less tilting than MTTs

-e- Most tilting thing is that I feel obliged to sit when I'd rather go out for a smoke. I just got a a bit under a buyin back though (rake is annoying)

-e- fishy finally left, table instabroke, and damage totals at 7 buyins

Excuse me for a moment, I like to have a cigarette after I get fucked

MyPillow by PuertoRican, June 23

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41UwHhLBNmL._AA300_.jpg

The creator/founder looks sketchy as fuck, and I'd never leave him alone around any kids, especially not with that random cross he's hanging from his neck that looks like he's trying to please the audience.

----------

This is my review on MyPillow, a pillow that is only sold over the internet, phone, or at a few conventions where people sell random shit.

I decided to write this after using MyPillow for exactly 1 month.

I was skeptical of MyPillow at first because it wasn't sold in stores and the price for the pillow seemed excessive ($89.95), even though I already owned 2 feathered down pillows ($100 each), that I used for 8 years prior to this new purchase. Just like anything I want but costs too much, I waited a few months until the price went down or until I saw a discount on it. After a few months, I saw a discount code on TV for MyPillow that gave you 25% off, so I purchased it the same day.

Anyway, I slept on my back during the first night I use, and after I woke up, the back of my head felt a little sore for some reason, like if I was laying my head against a hard surface for too long or something.

The second night, I decided to not use any pillow to test if it was the pillow or not.

After the second night, I decided to go back to YouTube and watch the user-guide for MyPillow as well as some user uploaded reviews. I forgot that MyPillow keep the shape you mold it into, so, I decided to mold it into the shape I wanted and haven't had any problems during the past month.

I've noticed that the pillow seemed to get softer after the first week, and I don't mean it was hard as a rock or it lost its shape after using it, I just mean that it seems more comfortable to use now and I can still mold it into any shape I want.

I would recommend this pillow for the following reasons:

- I'm able to noticeably have more dreams now, when compared to before. They mention this in their advertising too. "rem sleep"
- The pillow is machine washable and you can put it in a dryer.
- There's a 60 day money back guarantee. (I read reviews that say MyPillow charges you a re-stocking fee or something like that, which costs $20-$25. I'm not sure if this is true, but I'm not returning this pillow anyway.)
- There's a 10 year warranty on the pillow.
- After shipping to California, it was $70 for the pillow.
