WTF? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U DC WHILE AI?
Mikae, May 11 2010
This is really weird - so my net is breaking up and fucking up in general but i kept playing - 2 things happened -
One REALLY laggy hand, on the river, i raise, then it LAGS like crazy - but i think he folds. HEM shows he folds. HH shows he folds. HEM shows i lost the pot.

-> but i'm down 9.7 on the hand on HEM.
Another hand, i jammed PF with AK, d/c - come back, table doesn't come back up because i think i closed it or something. What happens there?
I'm down like 20 bucks on my cashier. Now with the AK hand, if that hand plays out, and i lose but win my QJ hand, then the maths adds up. BUT IF I LOST THE QJ HAND AND MY MONEY MAGICALLY GOES INTO A FTP D/C SLUSH FUND but i couldn't jam my AK cause of the lag....SOMEHTING IS WRONG OMG SO TILTED FUCING FTP
[25nl] What do you do in this spot?
Mikae, Apr 22 2010
20/20 reg with no reads raises 3.5xbb on CO (presumably to iso fish on BB).
You call button with QT.
Flop comes A68 with a flush draw (you do not have said flush draw)
Preflop raiser checks to you. What do you do? what is your plan on the turn?
Alternatively, what do you do if you have T8/underpairs etc instead?
Personally I like betting flop and probably 2 barreling if turn is a blank but i'm thinking that's a leak. What do you kids think?
Can't connect to ftp?
Mikae, Apr 20 2010
I can't seem to connect. Pokerscout says they are online with 12k players. zzz anyone know the reason?
I clicked the updater to see if there is any updates but that doesn't work either. GG
dumb question for ftp users
Mikae, Apr 03 2010
Does anyone know how to make the tables i'm wait listed on highlight on ftp?
I've spent a good 10 minutes googling and searching through the options - god i hate it so much when i see some promising tables but find that i am already waitlisted on them :
cheers
How i lern donakmentz?
Mikae, Mar 31 2010
So where do i go to get the basics on donkaments?
I play 6 max, no idea how to play full ring. The reason i ask is because i have a couple of 26 tokens from ftp and i want to use them as effectively - i probably won't cash so i want to use this opportunity to learn.
Advice anyone?
PS -> FTP
Mikae, Mar 27 2010
So i was on PS and i was very comfortable in my game in 25nl, actually taking shots at 50nl. Then my friend suggested i switch to ftp. I did, and i've started grinding 25nl there.
AND...im getting totally crushed. Partly because i'm running cold but i feel that FTP plays a bit harder in that its player base float more, 3bet more and bluff by just clicking the pot button. I figured PS to be more passive because of SNE grinder etc and FTP more active because they watch CR and the whole FTP aggressive players campaign.
Not that i'm losing confidence because i'm drastically overrolled and i'm totally dominating 25nl but do
you micro stake grinders feel this?
Is AK the nuts preflop? Why?
Mikae, Feb 05 2010
As I hail from the micro limit of poker, I don't understand why people think AK is the nuts preflop?
My friend said it was partly because of the fold equity you get if you jam it over a 4 bet or 4 bet it. Secondly, we're not exactly crushed unless we get it in against AA. Against KK, you still have ~30% equity so "its just like a coin toss!"
This doesn't click for me because noone folds to a jam in the micros after they 4 bet. So if there is no fold equity involved, do you still like to get it all in pre?
Will fail prop bet in 1.5 hours
Mikae, Jan 31 2010
Well i'm going to lose my prop bet in 1.5 hours -
Recap: I needed to hit 2k br from 300 bux in january. Atm my br is 1.8k and i've comfortably moved up to 50nl. I'm pretty comfortable there and i feel my game has improved from leaps and bounds since my 30k hands of 10nl. Stopped playing because i got bad beat AA v JJ backdoor flush, which would have put me in a commanding position - 1 bi away.
Winrate isn't that great, i averaged like ~8 bux an hour over 120hrs this month. Rakeback and my deposit bonus of 250 helped out alot. My friend said i still had a shot and that he doesn't mind if i flip 200nl to see if i hit my target by getting lucky. Mmmmmm i thought about it, but nah, not really worth damaging my br for it. Tho mathematically, its paying 200 to win 300, if i get it all in pf. Ok odds i guess. Meh, i rather not tho.
Also missed my 2 outer in QQ v AA. *sigh* - i count this as a bad beat because i knew a Q was coming on the turn but it didn't. First time i didn't suck out on AA.
My poker goals for feb is to probably grind more 50nl, build br and i'll probably start 100nl in March when i start my job. Won't have as much time to spend on poker but i plan on leveling up with salutary while full time jobbing. LOL gonna work at where babs is working and hopefully bump into him and get him to coach us!
Edit: Noone flipped with me so i ended up the prop bet with 1754 (yes, i blew a 50nl bi lololol)
Does TAGs fold AJ?AT on AXXXX?
Mikae, Jan 27 2010
I was reviewing hands with a friend and we began discussing a certain theoretical scenario about blowing people off hands.
The gist is: can you blow a villain TAG 23/20 off TP (Ace) high kicker (AJ/AT) if you three barrel him in position when you are holding JJ/TT and its obvious no good. This is also on 100nl.
This is assuming that the flop, turn and river are very disconnected with no draws.
Firstly, its a raised pot by him in co and you flatted button.
Secondly, you barreled pretty hard on flop (3/4 pot) and turn and he c/c both streets.
Do you find yourself committing to the bluff and barreling hard on river? Is it viable? Do you think you can blow the reg off his AJ/AT etc by repping a set/two pair? what is your logic?
This may sound pretty random/dumb which is why its in my blog.
Edit: Forgot to say, talking about 6 max
need to crush 25nl faster
Mikae, Jan 12 2010
I think i've got a pretty good grasp of 25nl metagame despite the small sample size of ~12k hands so i've started 6-8 tabling. Still kind of on track for my prop bet - i'm on 1.1k and i'm going to finish grinding a $100 bonus tomorrow. So 800 bux in 20 days, definitely doable at the rate i'm hitting my 2 outters. Probably going to dabble in 50nl when i hit 2k.
Anyways, i've decided to broaden my understanding of poker outside of NLH cash games and play some donkaments for shits and giggles. Atm i belong to the "wait until you have AA" school of Helmuth. I think this is a less than optimum approach. Can anyone recommend a website? or a book that gives me the fundamental mindset for MTTs? Goddamn cardrunners only have 6 max videos.
