Life Graph n stuff
  k2o4, May 06 2009

That's my lifetime graph of NL / PL on pokerstars. I have some fixed limit on PS and some fixed limit on FTP, plus like a few thousand NL hands on FTP/Party. But I've pretty much played my entire career on stars and this is all of that.

Don't ask how much it is in $ instead of BB - no need to embarass myself with my extremely low winnings for over 760k hands of play, so I'm not gonna tell you, hehe. It's taken me 1,302 hrs to play all those hands. Sadly I've put in that much work and still suck at poker, haha. At least I've gotten to a point where I can beat NL100. Hopefully it won't take me another 700k hands to learn how to beat NL200.

I've done a lot of multi-tabling, and a decent amount of those hands were done while playing 12+ tables. I think that I don't learn much while playing more than 8 tables, so there's a lot of hands in there where I was a mindless robot and didn't improve my game. Lately I play 6-8 tables most of the time so I've actually been IMPROVING, and that's nice. Still got a long way to go.

Other fun stuff:

Biggest winning session - 1,086 hands for a profit of $1,469.50 @ NL200

Biggest losing session - 1,737 hands for a loss of $1,268.55 @ NL200

Longest session - 426.3 minutes (7.1 hrs) playing 9,264 hands for a profit of $259.75 on NL50

As you can see on the graph I'm in a 60k hand downswing. The fucking pain. That's why I looked at the life graph, to get a sense of how it looked in the big picture. Still a big downswing, but not so bad when you zoom out.

Funny about Annie Duke
  k2o4, May 06 2009

I think it's funny that geoff gets on WCG Ultimate Gamer and we have a thread about it here on LP, while Annie Duke is on Celebrity Apprentice and I just found out about it today when apparently she's one of the final 2! Maybe I just missed it but there definitely wasn't a super active thread discussing another poker player being on a non poker TV show, which I feel like we'd normally do. I'm guessing it's cause none of us have any respect for her? lol poor girl.

But seriously, did I miss the thread or am I right?

I personally am kinda curious to see at least 1 episode to get an idea of how she did. I wonder if it helped the image of poker players or detracted from it. Personally I'm in support of anything that makes poker players look good and gets fish wanting to be a poker player. More fish is what it's all about!

LOST: Via Domus
  k2o4, May 05 2009

Just beat the LOST video game last night. took me forever cause I kept playing while I was high or drunk and unable to concentrate. Overall it was a really short game that wasn't very good, which is what I expected when I bought it. Well, i expected it to not be very good but I thought it would be longer. Also the ending is really fucking weird and I don't see how it mixes in with the show. If you've played/beat the game then check the spoiler.

Andy and crew crack me up... I totally share their sense of humor. I just got sidetracked while making this post and started watching all of their shit on youtube. On a boat is so awesome =)

Props to the people who put together the puke in my mouth video, it was pretty damn funny too. The one thing that the original had over them was the way they dressed up as euro rave guys, haha.

Gay Republicans
  k2o4, Apr 29 2009

Just saw this trailer for a new documentary coming out about gay Congressmen who have strong anti-gay voting records. I guess over 90% of these guys are Republicans, lolz. Obviously these guys are in the closet. I dunno if I'd bother to go see this, but if it was on TV on a Sunday afternoon I'd probably watch and laugh at the hypocrisy. Though I do worry that some innocents might get caught up in the crossfire here. At the same time, it totally fits for some of the most homophobic anti-gay activists in the GOP to be closet fags.

SuperFlu For U
  k2o4, Apr 28 2009

Well it seems like my fears of The Stand becoming real and giving me a reason to move back to Boulder and get free rent are becoming more and more ridiculous. Damn you logic for proving that my fears are stupid!

Anyway, found some fun clips on the swine flu scare fest. Daily show did it well:

And a fun short youtube vid on "Why NOT to Worry About Swine Flu":

The funny political fallout of this is that in the GOP's crusade to slash the stimulus cause of "wasteful spending" (which I am against, but often the GOP's idea of wasteful spending is very different than mine as they think everything is wasteful), they actually cut out money to prepare america to deal with a flu pandemic. That's right, Obama wanted to use money to prepare in case something like the swine flu happened and the GOP called it wasteful spending and fought to have it removed. And what are they saying now? "We didn't know swine flu was going to happen!" Duh. Neither did Obama. But he was being PREPARED. It's kind of like having a flashlight and extra batteries laying around the house. It's an extra cost up front but in the long run it's well worth it for when the power goes out.

Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele defended GOP opposition to pandemic preparedness funding in the stimulus bill in an interview with CNN Tuesday, saying the party had no way of knowing that such a threat might actually materialize. "Did we know this at the time of the vote?" Steele asked. "Don't come back and make this link six months after the fact ... we don't know what tomorrow holds." He added, "I'm not going to sit here and accept that connection."

Call me crazy, but I like the idea of the Gov being prepared to deal with things like hurricanes, tornadoes, and huge disease outbreaks. To me that's one of the main reasons we have a government.

Anywho, Colorado is yet to have a confirmed case so I feel pretty good about my chances of surviving this apocalypse. haha
