RE wholesaler
  GameOverNoob, Oct 21 2013

A wholesaler is offering a form of expertise in there being able to find and negotiate good deals. Their ability to provide good estimates of rehab costs and their ability to find good comps in determining a likely ARV.

This might be reliable information on real estate deal analysis, if you're interested in that sort of thing.

I haven't read it yet, so I can't comment but the community has a good reputation.

No specific info on villain. This was a mistake. He's calling too often here with his 8's and 6's to justify giving him 2-1 with his stack. I like my line with 2-3k+

  GameOverNoob, Oct 09 2013

I intended on getting my certificate in the appraisal of real estate, but now i'm more interested in getting a bachelor is history. Does anyone have any experiences to share?

Appraisers make decent money, they pick up skills needed to be a good real estate investor and i have key connections.

History leads me to law and is obv more interesting.

Me
  GameOverNoob, Sep 25 2013

In high school I tried opened a modeling agency. I was under the assumption that my business partner, who at the time was working for an existing agency, had a client he could sign. It was going well, and I got to hang out with models and experience trendy clubs for the first time but we executed poorly, attempting a game of smoke and mirrors, and he didn't sign. That was my first deal and I lost 200$.

When I was sixteen, I started a poker room downtown. I convinced my boss at the restaurant I was working for to partner with me for 800$. When i needed more he backed out. Woot! I managed to get the resources i needed from a dealer at a 5-10 game. And it worked out well! Too well. It wasn't even a few months before my main competitor closed down and the promoter came to work for me. Unfortunately that same promoter brought in some intimidating and shady businessmen to relieve me of my position. I had to "exit" after 6 months and got a royalty of 500$ a week and a job as a dealer. That's when my friend, the dealer with the resources (500$, a poker table and a car) was shot. Unrelated to the business. He was shot twice in the head while visiting his old college. Major depression followed for me. He was in a coma for months until he woke up miraculously and is now "ok". The Montreal casino opened up a poker room around this time and the club closed. I got involved with some less than admirable people and did some mildly bad business practices. After 6 months I got myself out of the trouble i was going to get into but life was a mess and i was depressed. Addiction followed. At 20 I got clean, moved back in with my parents and got a job working for a legit poker room outside the city. I introduced pot limit omaha to the club and then got promoted to a "sort of marketing position". The actual job was replaced by the owners son. I quit and back to feeling like shit. The last 3 years, i haven't done much. I likely won't get back into online poker. Now, i'm 24, i live at home with my brother, my parents, 2 dogs and what i think is a good attitute. When you have as much time as I've had to think, and you're interested in as many things as I am, it's easy to get flooded with options. I'm going to start a small business licensing technology for restaurants and working on becoming focused and energenic enough to go to school.

Now i’ll give you my opinion on what I should have done, and why.
My table is filled with the usual micro stakes fish. There’s no spazzy players creating action, and most players are playing passively, making bad calls. I’m opening the pot here almost always and I do this for these reasons.
1. I would like to win the pot pre-flop. This will happen alot. The higher the blinds, the more i’ll take this pre.
2. I’d like to be seen as an aggressive player. When we open more than we get good hands (not that QJ isn’t a good hand) You’ll start to notice players getting “out of line”. While players getting out of line may sound like your life becoming more difficult, it’s when the game gets interesting and it’s also when you’re going to make the most chips. Waiting for a situation when you’ve out flopped top pair, or something similar will likely get a few cashes, but it’s not how you win tournaments IMO
3. Players will call with trash hands, and give us a decent portion of their stacks. I really like to play with my fish post flop, and I think you should be more than pleased when you get to play heads up in position vs a retard.
While i consider this open standard, i will be folding when the high jack or cut-off has a high 3bet %.
On the flop I really like a bet. I’m going to take the pot on the flop a nice chunk of the time. Since i don’t have a note on him saying he’s capable of check raising marginal hands, i know i’m safe from getting blown off by an under pair, straight draws, and over cards.
There’s not much checkraising going on in the micro’s so u should note it when it happpens and really pay attention to the texture of the boards if the villain doesn’t show his hand down. —–how to tell what someone has based on texture—–
I think my flop bet could have been a tiny bit juicier I bet 600:1600. I would have preferred to make it between 620-720.
I believe that you should only bet as much as you need to to accomplish your goal. I won’t likely be able to get him off any pair on the flop. So it doesn’t matter how much i bet if my opponent has a pair. In the case of open ended, the same applies. Even if my opponent is aware of the correct odds to call for a straight draw, i always assume he doesn’t care, and will call anything reasonable.
This could be a good spot to over bet And I think under similar circumstances i’d take this line on the flop but let’s continue the analysis as played.
Now that I know he’s got either 77-22, J9, trip 8′s AK or AQ I really should be checking back the turn. There’s not much i beat… and i while i do lose the hand when he turns his AK, 77-22 into a bluff, most players -especially short stacks- don’t have the stomach to try.

Taking advantage of a 2nd chance
  GameOverNoob, Oct 12 2011

I've taken a good long break from this world with good reason. I was what some would call an unbalanced player. The money I did make fueled my addictions and led me down a path that ultimately almost cost me my life. An interesting story that's tl I doubt u would read but maybe I'll share some other time. I've grown considerBly since then and miss playing a game I enjoy very much. I've been keeping up with recent news and wached the game evolve from the outside. I'll be starting at the bottom on a euro site on the party gaming network. IMO the game selection should be the softest based on partypokers very intense marketing online and on tv. I played a couple session but can't reinforce my opinion since it was nl2 and naturally will be ez. Im looking forward to hearing what you all have to say and will start posting HH ASAP. If anyone cares to know I have an extensive history in poker as a room organizer and dealer in a casino. Wasn't the most optimal lifestyle to grow in so im working ATM planning to finish real estate school as soon as I can and start college.
