Selling Action PCA ME 2013 by bonzocuellar, December 05

Hi guys, my name is Jesus Cuellar, “bonzocuellar” on PS. I just won a satty in to the PCA ME 2013 and I’m selling a piece of myself.

Experience

I’ve lived out of poker for 3 years now, started out playing live poker and right now I’m grinding SnGs and MTTs online with good results. I’ve played a couple of live events in Mexico City, but as poker was “prohibited” this MTTs were not as big as I would’ve liked.

About 10 months ago I played the WSOPc San Diego with a finish in place 14 in the 500usd event. Lost KK<33 aipf against second in chips while I was first with 17 left for massive chiplead.

Apart from that I’ve played a couple of live MTTs in Mexico with decent results and have played live cash for a living for about 8 months.

About a year and a half away from now I had to come back to my old city where there are no cash games so I started online again. I rested my sharkscope graph when I came back so this is a graph for last 16 months.
I’ve FTd the 1r 3x, the bigger 22 and 2 worth mentioning deep runs. One in the SCOOP ME L and the other one in a WCOOP 215 Sunday 2 day event, both for a place around 95-110.

MTTs (missing a 5k score, nothing else worth mentioning)

http://i.imgur.com/eutLU.jpg

SnGs overall (filtered up to 50buy in b/c Table Ninja once missregged me to 2 hu hyperturbo 100usd and a 375usd 6max sat to the super Tuesday.)

http://i.imgur.com/mQV66.jpg

My main grind is 180s (who would’ve guessed!), so I have a fair experience in MTT play, so here is my graph for 180s overall

http://i.imgur.com/qpiJ9.jpg

Graph for 180man 3 rebuy which im crushing right now.

http://i.imgur.com/2pDhL.jpg

Why invest in me?
I’m sure there’s a big difference in live play and online play. I’m winning in both of them so I know the gap between them and know how to adjust. Eventhough it is a hard field it also has a bunch of bronzestar/freeroll satty winners which i have a strong edge against.

Pieces

Selling 30% with no MU, possibly selling more later on.
Total = 3090

Min Purchase 1% = $103
2% = $206
5% = $515
10% = $1030

I’ll receive funds via PokerStars and Moneybookers. If anyone is interested in paypal ill try to set up an account.
Will be giving updates via twitter on @bonzoc.

Will very possibly be selling a small package of side events. I'll post later on this blog.

Ty and run good!

My nerd era over ? Can it be by PplusAD, December 04

Hi all
Long time no see

As most of you guys , too i have been a computer nerd all my life.
When i was a kid i played Doom,Wolfenstein,GrandPrix2, Indy Car racing, Fifa95, MOrtal KOmbat 1, Need for speed1-2, Command and Conquer
When i was a teenager i played Half Life, Warcraft2 , Quake , UT99, Need for speed 3-5, Baldurs Gate, Fifa 97-2000
Later when i was a young adult (19-21) i mainly played Starcraft1 and Diablo2LOD
Laters i played ~3 years of Poker ... some WC3 ... some SC2 .. Some Counterstrike some Elder Scrolls
recently i have played 300h of Diablo3 (since release in may) and some CS:Go (70h)
I also tried the new Hitman a bit ... but it simply doesnt work for me...
I loved Silent Assasin (Hitman 2) and neither Blood Money nor Hitman Absolution do come even close in my eyes

Playing an average of 2-3h of Computer games every day has been a part of my life since i was 8-9years old.
So i have around 18years of gaming history

I am almost 28years of age nowadays and somehow these new computer games just dont do it for me. Cant help but somehow they all suck ....

SC2 Sucks , Diablo3 sucks ... Skyrim was okayish but far from really good .. CS:GO is average/sucks,too

At the same time i am have had enough of this old computer games that i am not motivated to go into them again.

SO while
SC1> Sc2
D2LOD>D3
Oblivion>SKyrim
CS1.6 > CS:Go
Hitman SA > all other Hitman

I have played these oldies so much over the years that i simply feel done with them.

Maybe at the age of 27years i finally manage to quit computergames ?
I played some CS:Go 1h ago and quit after the aiming made me feel puke again.
However i dont want to play 1.6 anymore since it just looks so fucking ugly and i feel so done with it.
Kinda same with many other new games like Diablo3 and Sc2

Thats when i had this brief thought of my nerd era finally comming to an end.

GL all

I wasn’t sure what to name this blog post, and since it’s time to post results for the past 2 months here it is.

http://i.imgur.com/en6eG.png

During October and early November I didn’t play as much reason being is uni students usually gets pumped with uni work towards the end of the semester. I’m not the type of student who really studies unless there is like a week left until something is due. But this semester I tried much harder because it consisted mostly of group works. Anyways I got a pass and a credit for my subjects which made me pretty happy because I usually just pass lol. I’m also doing 2 subjects in uni this summer session; hopefully I finish by the end of next year if all goes well.

Also during the start of October I lost like 2 BIs at 25nl I just insta quit then moved down to 16nl and there I lost 5 BIs so just also quit, this happened within a span of 3 sessions in 2 days so didn’t play for a few days. I was still comfortably rolled for 25nl at this time but I usually just go back down to 5nl and 10nl and just win a few BIs. I’ve always been a bankroll nit I don’t usually play unless I have 45-50 BIs. It’s a funny feeling when I’m winning I feel like I am super good but when I lose just a few BIs I feel like I am the worst, this is why I move down and just try to win a few BIs to get that winning feeling again (I think it’s called confidence lol).

I am still off track, I wanted to reach the last level of the micros (50nl) by December but it didn’t happen, I am still at 25nl. Here is my lifetime graph.

http://i.imgur.com/Lugw9.png

Also since it is December I’m giving away $5 on Pokerstars to the first LP member who correctly answers both questions which I will post below. I know $5 is peanuts but I’m no baller, I’m only a micro stakes player so just call it a Christmas gift (haha), also just a way to give back to the community (LP Hand Histories = super quick way to learn).

edit: Lets gooo MICROOOS!!!

SoCal Beware by NotSorry, December 03

I know it's not the best time to take a vacation just getting back into training and all but things just kind of fell into place and I'm not one to pass up a free trip to SoCal to visit family and hit up the theme parks.

Update by player999, December 02

Today's MTTs didn't go well at all, ootm on almost all of them, and then a couple deep runs that didn't get deep enough

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/c...dE96VndfNHVUc01FbVR4X2wwaU1YZUE#gid=0

Pretty much busto'd the MTT BR, got enough for one more session of just a couple tourneys next week, who knows, maybe that's the one. If not, gg, I've gave my best and that's all we can do.

Cannabis Cures Cancer by k2o4, December 02

Cannabis cures cancer, this time a brain tumor in an 8 month old, and a doctor who was once a skeptic is now a believer.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12...nabis-for-infants-brai_n_2224898.html

Medical marijuana is gaining acceptance, but could it even help kids? Dr. William Courtney has seen it happen, and on Friday, told HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski about it. Saying he was "quite a skeptic 5 or 6 years ago", Dr. Courtney continued that "my youngest patient is 8 months old, and had a very massive centrally located inoperable brain tumor." The child's father pushed for non-traditional treatment utilizing cannabis.

"They were putting cannabinoid oil on the baby's pacifier twice a day, increasing the dose... And within two months there was a dramatic reduction, enough that the pediatric oncologist allowed them to go ahead with not pursuing traditional therapy."

The tumor was remarkably reduced after eight months of treatment. Dr. Courtney pointed out that the success of the cannabis approach means that "this child, because of that, is not going to have the long-term side effects that would come from a very high dose of chemotherapy or radiation... currently the child's being called a miracle baby, and I would have to agree that this is the perfect response that we should be insisting is frontline therapy for all children before they launch off on all medications that have horrific long term side effects."

My journey into trading by whamm!, December 02

So after my first 8 months of on and off trading, I learned this so far.
Lost 15% so far, so I still have 85% to burn lol

Basically it's a lot of propaganda and self fulfulling prophecies for chart technicians, very similar to passing the ball and whoever has it last is usually "it". Being a noob like me it's always tough to identify which is which so I keep acting on impulse and making bad trades with no exit plan resulting in a lot of commissions, fees and taxes being paid - basically all my losses so far is the "rake" haha

*Candlesticks - Identifying sentiment day to day
*MACD - for entry and exit points, also identifying trends(bullish, bearish, sideways)
*RSI - have an idea where support/resistance are (if a stock is overbought or oversold)
*Read SEC disclosures - Basically drives market sentiment
*News - usually late and fabricated(by some entity with an agenda etc) helps at times esp articles
*Forums are for bashing and hyping lol

Still need to learn position sizing and portfolio management, lot to learn and will start real learning in 2013. So much info and reading material out there with no real mentor I had to sift through this clusterfuck of information all by myself.

I'll update my progress as soon as I know what the hell I'm doing

About card rooms by LikeASet, December 01

Hello, I'm thinking about make regular visits to a card room that is very close by (about 12 min drive away). It's a small casino that has around 6 tables dedicated to poker and the rest dedicated to black jack etc. I was wondering what kind of experiences you all had with small card rooms like these. I've heard rumors about my local card room having a lot regulars that "work together".

The rake is about 3$ + 1$ for jackpots, and 1$ for unflopped pots. I believe the lowest limit has 1-2-3 blinds (yes i think 3 blinds at once) and i think goes up to 3/6 or 5/10. It's located in the middle of two suburban cities, one with 120,000 population, the other about 20,000. Very close by is the wine country where all the rich folks live. This is in northern California btw.

So just wanted to hear what kind of experiences you guys had with small card rooms, up until this point I've only played live poker at friendly house games, Las Vegas, and big casinos out in the middle of Indian territories.

Men's Rights (lol) by nolan, December 01

Hi!

I have been traveling on a terrible road trip Miami->Texas and so when I check in at the end of the night I have nothing to do but read the internet until I fall asleep. Lately, most of this involves reading reddit/gawker and just looking for anything that is interesting.

Lately, all I've been reading about has been the Fermi Paradox and 'Men's Rights'. My sister actually somewhat put me onto the Men's Rights stuff when I talked to her while driving as she was talking to me about how some of her friends at Uni have been 'brainwashed' by the Women's Studies program. This actually tied in a little bit to my last blog post as well so I did some more prodding around on the topic.

Apparently the most recent high-profile incident was a protest at U of T (Toronto) for some guy I'd never heard of before Warren Farrell who was doing some kind of conference there. An admittedly pro-Farrell video clip of some of the protests here:

Anyways, I find this whole thing mildly interesting. It is interesting to look at the real differences between men/women in the western world in regards to education, medical spending, longevity, etc. etc. I'm really on the fence and without an opinion but I must say I am surprised at the amount of academics who seem to be popping up to champion the 'cause' of men and boys possibly getting the short end of the stick in today's society.

The Christina Hoff Summers woman has some interesting writings/youtube stuff as well.

Anyways, what do you guys think? I know this stuff is kind of dull, but don't worry my next blog post will be advanced and talking about the Fermi Paradox, the Great Filter, and the upcoming Technological singularity.

Also, I have another 10 hour drive coming up, and am running out of podcasts. I got the Joe Rogan ones etc but if anyone has a recco on any good/controversial science/sociology/current events podcasts please let me know!

Reenergized by Jamie217, December 01

Well I guess this is a comeback of sorts, I started playing poker seriously again sometime last month after taking probably about 6 months off from playing.

Throughout October I worked my way up through 50 and 100nl zoom and this month I played mostly 200nl zoom. Zoom has more or less got me interested in poker again because I can feel focused on every hand on every table, and still get a fair amount of hands in.

I have actually been able to be motivated in poker again and focus on my game on and off the tables whereas that has been missing for the better part of a year or two. I have been lucky to be able to bounce ideas off a couple of great poker minds as well which has really been beneficial for my work ethic and mindset in general.
November 2012:

Throughout the summer I was able to work at a great golf course north of Toronto and probably played about 80 rounds (which is why my poker kind of took a back seat). My goal at the start of the summer was to get my 7/8 handicap down to a scratch. I did not make that goal but I did get down to a 2 handicap at one point and at this point in time I think I am a 3.
Some of the highlights from the summer was shooting a 70 on a par 72 6900 yard course and getting my first hole in one!
Hole in One:

Working on my swing plane:

I am hoping to test in for my CPGA card next summer and play some mini tour events as well. The biggest problem next summer is trying to balance poker and golf. For my golf program in school I have to work 500 hours at a golf course... so on top of working on my golf game I still have to find time to play poker 20/30hrs a month :s

I think it will be difficult to find the time to improve both my golf game and my poker game at the same time next summer but what is the point of taking the lazy easy route Done that before and it just doesn’t work..

Going to try and get 40k vpp in December so that I can get Supernova for next year (this is what I was talking about being lazy throughout this year). And then start the New Year off grinding a ton before the summer season kicks in again.
Good Luck! and if anyones on twitter give me a follow @JamieBreedon

Moving up by LemOn[5thF], December 01

NL5

Had a lot ot tilty sessions after work, need to work on my discipline as shuffling 60hr/wk job with floorball, poker and gym takes a lot of balancing. One thing I have to desperately change is my diet and regular sleep, I became a well disciplined person in the last few months (already cut virtually all alcohol) but will now take it to another superhuman level and become unstoppable

http://i.imgur.com/h20Po.png
http://i.imgur.com/5kB4d.png

I started reading pokerstrategy basics again, forgot loads of shit like that you should cbet more on drawy boards and when your range is stronger and vice versa

Thanks LP
The help is much appreciated, loving the comments on hands LP seems to be a bit dead recently strategy wise so hopefully there are some basic spots that you are helping me with that others will find useful too.

PLease comment on the stats again. It seems I need to look at my SB hands, am I being too loose there? Prolly just need to tighten my SB, if theres any specific stats I can post from SB that could tell you what I'm doing wrong Im all ears

T$ trade
got T$23.70 will trade for $23, just pm me ur username on Stars and I will trade

NL10
Will start grinding NL10 with 20BI now, move down 2BI etc, but will tableselect like a mofo which I think is necessary when you're learning and the rake is so high.

GL LP, love you guys.
