Just came back from the local 5/10 game. There was a big fish on the table, most notable hand I opened 50 w/ and he 3bet shoves for 1.6k. I think for a couple seconds, call and hold vs ez game
And then I listen to him rambling about how I made a crazy call and I would be ahead once in a lifetime and if it were against anyone else I'd lose for sure. I acknowledge w/ a big smile on my face and take more and more chips from his next 4 stacks
almost got off to a good start to September but I fucked it up playing the worst poker I remember playing in recent times and am now down a small amount
substract -24k$ for 50/100 live and -10k$ in ongame and I got a breakeven month, oh well shit happens.
Pretty swingy month, but Im confident about the next one especially because filtering this graph I can see that I'm actually up at my regular 10/20 and 25/50 online games by 100k$, and I lost 100k$ between 50/100 and omaha, so that means I'm up for about 85~90% of the hands played, and I lost all of that taking shots so it's not bad at all.
Will continue doing the same, winning a lot (hopefully) at 10/20 25/50 and when I'm feeling confident I will play bigger and try another shot in Omaha.
Now for other stuff new Richard Dawkins book is coming out http://richarddawkins.net/articles/64...lease-15th-sept-the-magic-of-reality, hopefully I can get a copy as soon as I can as I'm loving his and Sam Harris work on religion, humanism, etc. They are very inspiring and I actually think I could be passionate about this kind of stuff, as I've always spend a LOT of time pondering about these subjects.
For the hardcore ones, I recommend
Skip Craig's stuff as it's just semantics and very technical logic (imo) and just listen to Harris, the questions are also pretty funny.
ok after i released my video (can be found here) ive done some freecoachingsessions with a couple of lp'rs to kinda get into the whole talking in englishwhilecoaching-thing and it feels pretty natural, i even tend to talk to much
ive done coaching in swedish before but the guys from LP that ive coached for free for a couple of sessions so far is Stroggoz, Highcard and Surprise and they all seem happy with the coaching, i asked them what they thought about the sessions to post their comments here but they all said such nice things it got kinda gay they can feel free to comment on the blogpost instead if they feel like they want to add anything!
but i think they really are happy with the sessions, and it felt great as a coach to feel appriciated and helpfull, and i found out i had more pointers/things to say then i thought i would
so i feel ready to take some students
my hourly this year is ~200$ and i feel like thats a good price for the guys over 200NL, if im getting a ton of interest and as time goes i might charge more as i evolve as a coach
but for now 200$ feels like a good price
and i kinda enjoyed haveing the session with surprise after all, since he is a microstakes player, it felt great to be able to help out with so much so im probably gonna be open to some smallerstakes players aswell even though i know ive said before that i dont want to coach people under 100NL as they can probably get the same help cheaper from other smallerstakescoaches
so i will atleast open myself for applications from smallerstakes guys, and ill charge 150$ for 100NL or under
with my coaching u will also be able to talk over hands when i got time on skype etc, and i think "my students" so far can give a +1 on this that ill be glad to help with questions on the side of the coachingsession
more information about me can be found deeper in this blog for those who want to find out more, its cool to ask aswell
on a sidenote, i also want to get PLO coaching from some1 good, im willing to pay a decent price for maybe a couple of hours sweat from a highstakeswinner, so PM me if ur up for it, prefered to be familiar with highstakesdeep aggro dynamics, as the games i play PLO now in easily gets 400bb deep, and are superaggro i want a coach who can handle that
as for results this month, month has been pretty good
35k$, and up ~6k€ ~8k$ on an italian site i play on
looking to start more grind on ongame in the future as 5/10$ action seems sick good there
43k$ month feels good in just 40k hands, normally i play 60k ish hands/month, so feels nice to book a nice one even tho ive played alittle less due to travels etc
(took scubadiving certificate this month, was awesome)
so cliffnotes:
200NL+: 200$
100NL<: 150$
(prices are for 1 hour)
hope to hear from you all!
cheers
(edit i changed it to 150$ for 100nl and down instead of 100$ for 25nl'rs, i just felt that 100$ would be to cheap as its half of my hourly)
Hello, I would like to get a stake for the 215$ 6-max of sunday september 4th, and for the 109 on september 10th. My roll being ~250 atm, I obv can't affort them. Let me know if you're interested in buying a %, or better offer!
first graph is 2/4
2nd graph is 1/2, mostly 1/2 deep.
I had some pretty big swings at 2/4 so i decided to grind 1/2, then i discovered deep tables which have some pretty bad regs, and fish which buy in for 250bbs. I got exploited a bit by the better 1/2 deep regs since i hadnt played deep before, and getting used to the 3bet/4bet dymanics was difficult. Because there are some situations where i would normally 3bet for value in 100bb poker with AQo, but when i 3bet that hand for value in 250bb poker and they 4bet, and im oop it really sucks heh.
overall though im used to 1/2 deep tables now and i can definitely say that these tables are insanely crushable for 5 reasons. I recommend people to learn and play these tables at any limit.
1) i get to know all the regs fast since only 2-4 tables run at a time.
2) sipinho plays 1/2 deep
3) a lot of the regs dont mind playing HU.
4) megafish buying in for 250bb is win.
August has probably been the best month for me so far because i dropped down to 4-6 tables again, instead of the usual 9-12 that i had been doing in the previous two months.
And i measure how good my month is in terms of improvement as well as money.
time until i quit poker multiplied by level of improvement per month= how much money i will gain from poker.
I hope to move up to 2/4 and 3/6 deep tables soon after next month.
Anything Lpers could recommend would be appreciated
will post a couple non-documentaries ive watched so far, there's been nothing but garbage for the past months so its been quite dry.
Warring traveller families (similar to "snatch) settle disputes by a bare knuckle fist fight over decades
Story of Troy Duffy (director of the cult movie "the boondock saints"), his (almost) rise and fall to fame, as Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein builds him up as this brilliant scriptwriter who's just an ordinary bartender, then decides to drop him and umake him as he realizes the guy is kind of an egomaniac/asshole. Instance of sick tilt for sure
Story of the Paskowitz family, surfings 1st family, and how a Doctor drops his practice and decides to live a very simple surfing life and raising his kids according to his very unconventional beliefs
Hey, recently had a phonecall that my regular cash game live was gonna be running again (it stopped coz of WSOP vegas and ppl traveling all around). Mostly consists of bussiness guys, one live pro that plays ok and myself, mostly 7-8 handed NLHE.
We used to play a lot of 25/25 at first 4k min buyin, then it was upped to 25/50 10k min but they always wanted to up the stakes (Which I didn't want because I didn't feel comfortable, most of them are multimillionaires). Now they wanna do 100/100 (which im gonna try for it to be 50/100) with 20k min buyin. I'm not really comfortable with this big a buyin so I wanna sell pieces of myself.
How we go around this for people more into the live games and staking?
I wanna sell 50% but dunno what good odds be, probably like 1.2:1 in my favour? game is really easy for an onliner like myself. I do have a lot of live cash game experience as I've played in this game a lot before and I'm up a fair ammount like 40~50k on it, although it should easily be 120~150k EV wise as I've been in a lot of bad beats.
Anyway, anyone interested contact me. Games are supposed to start today or tomorrow.
After more than a month of grinding live poker 5-6 days a week my biggest problem is getting my wallet to close and fit in my pocket because its so full of money. This is a good problem to have. I love you live poker!
Quick question - is there a way to get Merge HHs to show correctly on LP's hand converter? Want to post a hand on the forums but the Merge HH format is really weird and isn't converting properly. Thanks!
Been trying to improve my game by subscribing to DC and watching videos, playing every day etc. Its my last week of dealing at the CNE so pretty excited about that.
After a couple of months at break-even at 25NL I decided to try and take my stab at the $11 SNG on party since I know a bit more about them than cash games, and tried to grind those for a bit until i got crushed.
So I decided I'm going to grind 10NL for a bit, try to win at that level, mixing in some SNG's here and there and find something I can beat. It's pretty frustrating right now but hopefully I'm getting better...
Pretty much beating Live Poker however, and that feels good. There's a Casino Staff poker tournament soon and I'm pretty much going to destroy that and everything else about life other than online is pretty much fantastic, but I want to get better at this game...
Good or bad deal? Jason and I want a car like right now. Nothing fancy, just something that will last us and get us around.
We're total car fish though, so if it's reasonable enough to buy, my older brother suggested we take it out to a mechanic and check the carfax report to make sure it's not rebuilt or something.
