Championship week in my two money leagues I'd like to thank d_zoo for playing 49er WR Michael "Diva" Crabtree against the Chargers instead of Jacoby Ford or Mike Thomas (jkjk). Seriously, I was sweating Cutler and the Patriots Defense even though my team performed well. Basically, I drafted like a mofo this year in both leagues (1st five picks: Ray Rice, Jammal Charles, Roddy White, Arian Foster, Matt Forte/Hakeem Nicks). I also gambled on Kyle Orton and Josh Freeman having big years, which turned out nicely. Now I just have to fade the Dry Paint Chargers for one week...
Poker-wise the last two months has been ok. Unfortunately, I don't feel like I've progressed very much ability-wise in the last year, which is troubling. The first graph is my last 50k hands at Party. Rigged imo. The 2nd is my last 50k hands on Full Tilt. 90% 50nl 6max with some 100nl mixed in.
The problem is every time I move up to 100nl I lose 5 buyins the first day, and then I move back down. I eventually make the money back at 50nl, and try again.
I'm not a big fan of watching vids. How do you spend your time away from the table?

I need someone to help me speed up my computer. I've done all the standard things... what i think is damaging the performance is the excessive start up programs. I disabled the ones I thought i didn't need and couldn't even connect to the internet. Going one by one and doing it would take forever..
since that might not be the only problem i need some computer guy who's well rounded. I also need someone who i can trust. I'm not that idiotic when it comes to PCs but I don't want someone trying to squeeze a free lesson who knows only as much as i do.
20k hand sample, trying a more LAGgy style, and just not understanding why I am not progressing. Is the sample too small? Could this possibly be variance over 20k hands? I am just flabbergasted at my game right now.
I literally spend all my time studying poker. I listen to podcasts, read tons of poker books, I have a coach, I am constantly monitoring my moods while I play to control tilt, and yet I can't seem to be above breakeven, let alone at the moment I am a loser. It seems I can't have a day where I profit/lose less then 3BI. I take some bad beats, especially lately, but there still appears to be a huge hole in my game somewhere and I have literally no clue where it could be. Really starting to discourage me as I am putting so much effort into getting better at this game, yet I don't see the results I am expecting for my time invested.

first of all sorry for all my shitty hands that i've been posting. i am going through the downswing of my life and during the time it was somewhat cathartic to post suck outs, etc. obviously posting hands where you got sucked out doesn't really help you get better....
as stated i am going through the downswing of my life. not to say it even compares to what other people are going through/have went through. i've never incessantly been sucked out longer than 3-4 days in a row. its been like 10 days of run bad and is exceptionally tough to go through. i'm not whining i'm just trying to convey my current state of distress.
i have been going through all my big pots, and i really am putting my money in way ahead. i don't think i am playing bad.
i've stated multiple times that i don't believe downswings to be even possible at nl10-50 just due to sheer edge but even now i stand corrected.
how did you guys who went through sick downswings (in the sense of duration) recover? how did u guys manage to even have the courage to log in and play?
