Month going well! I love the pro hunters on Stars!
   Joeingram1, October 18

Been a few days since I updated the blog. Last few days have been very swingy for me at 5/10+. I have been getting a little more adventurous lately as far as playing 10/20 and 5/10, meaning slacking on game selecting. I will usually start out a session by game selecting a few tables that look good or have a good seat open but then before I know it I am playing all the 6max/fr games and depending on the 10/20 lineups, those games as well. Has a pretty fun session the other night where I was 6 tabling 10/20 and had 6k stacks on a few tables before I imploded and lost like 7k in a few hands by making pro moves and not folding.

Here is one of the hand against 2 of the weaker players at the table, probably should just fold preflop but once the preflop raiser checks the flop, I figure fanen can be taking a stab at it with any two here and I thought the turn was a good card to barrel. But when he calls the turn I pretty much knew for sure he had AxHH and was hoping I could make him fold the river Hate giving up on pots lol spew

My 4 other big losses from the session were hands I should have just folded but still dont have the dicsipline to yet but hopefully will be able to in the future. I did make one pretty move that worked out well, am happy I didn't lose 4k in the hand though lol. My plan for the hand once I called the flop was to try to take the hand away from him which he made easy with the sizing

Finally got to play some with the living legend nanonoko today at 5/10 and the rumors I have heard are true, he is awesome and always has it. There were only a few 5/10 6m games running and nano was sitting at 2 trying to start games so I figured why not, I like a challenge lol. Lost a few flips, he always has a set and never bluffs before the tables finally filled up and I had to chase losses! I am enjoying playing many people HU to get games started as I think it is helping my overall HU game alot, even though it is defintly costing me in $$$. Just means I have to grind longer in my sessions sometimes. I also am amazed at some of the pro bumhunters on Stars, I don't know where these guys come from but they just insta sit on the fish left after you sit there for awhile alone trying to get games started. I've always heard about it but didn't actually realize how sick it is until lately. I admit that sometimes I will sit to a fish left quickly but I am also playing all other tables and usually trying to start games myself. These mother fuckers just tilt me so much, esp when I play a fish for a few hands and lose some, then dc_publius comes and sits on his left and then the fish either gives whoever the money/leaves when it gets 3 handed. Imeasy2read is the ultimate hunter though, never seen someone hunt for as many hours as he does. Tilting writing about this to. Mehhh

Heres my graph since I last updated the blog, swingyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy as hell. I'm getting my comfortable playing the games and in turn my redline is starting to go up/more variance. Also running kinda bad in AA aipf doesn't help but meh, it happens.

Graph for the month now, alot of random nl100/nl25 hands in there also lol

Thanks for reading the blog!!

Black Eyed Peas Gigs...
   byrnesam, October 13

are rough....

I got told firmly to "fuck off" by a middle aged woman trying to barge past me.

I promtly told her to fuck off and she tried to get the guy next to me to start a fight with me, i told her to fuck off again and then security kinda popped their head over the fence as she tried to get me thrown out for standing in my place.

Then later (my gf was stood infront of me) another woman tries to barge through (we are like 2 deep from front fence) my GF kind gives a stiff shoulder and this woman gives her the mad stink eye, and like a baseball umpire i decide thats it for this bitch, grab her shoulder and yank her backwards.

Security guard taps me and tells me no, i say "wtf" and go about my business.

Honestly, ive been to so many metal gigs and shits never breakin down into verbal fights.

These women need a fuckin sweep kick.

The first womans drunk ass chode husband nearly got his ass kicked a bit later after they tried to barge through again, he got thrown out the 2nd time. Wish he was close enough so i coulda given him a swift jab to the face and called his woman a dried up old hag.

Awful people.

Apart from that gig was sweet.

A Fun 12.5k Hand session at nl100 6max!
   Joeingram1, October 13

I've been watching this show Dollhouse nonstop today and finally decided to give it a rest and play some actual poker around 11pm or so. I need to clear this 4k FPP bonus and get closer to the 600k milestone so I decided to 24 table some nl100 6max. Haven't really played a long session at nl100 in awhile and basically was just playing nutso for awhile. I didn't look at my HEM till about 8k hands in to see how much I was down and I was stuck a lovely 13BI lol. So I decided to start trying and stop watching movies/talking on AIM and recovered in about 3k hands. Was a pretty overall boring session for me as I wasn't really trying to make money at first but just pass some time and get in some hands.

Graph for the session

And graph for the month now lol, pretty fkn ridiculous

doomswitched again..
   longple, October 12

last month was so fking good, down 3.5k this month, suxx...

had first winning session this month yesterday night on stars. won like 7BI at 50NL 6max

Gonna need to turn this around now again like last time i ran/played this bad

also thought alot about what loco wrote in Nights blog

I quote:

  On October 11 2009 02:45 Loco wrote:
you set yourself up for disappointments when you blog about your results daily. it's something i could personally never do because it would affect my judgement way too much. it's really easy to think you're crushing the game because you run good for a while and you make it public and you start believing in it, and when it doesn't go your way you have enforced the belief that you 'deserve to win' or something, just because you've been winning. it's the main reason people tilt i think. they don't understand that there are two sides to the coin and if you are running abnormally hot it's going to come crashing sooner or later and it shouldn't affect your game because you should know it's going to happen. i don't tilt at all when i don't blog about my results and i'm never disappointed in my performance because of this, whereas i was scared to lose coming up in the low/mid limits and blogging often, and every time i had big losing sessions my play/mood was tremendously affected.

tldr; i found that playing to improve for myself and myself only, not making it too public how much money i was making was actually much better for my game and emotional stability.

really wise words imo.. that i will try to plant into my game/life.
So this might be one of the last resultsoriented blogposts of mine for a while. i need to stop being an attentionwhore about everything and just concentrate on my game.

and thats just not posting results and shit thinking im some kind of god when i run good, just my whole sight of poker as a game. dealing with beats and stuff. just not be so fucking shortterm effected all the time.

ty for reading all!

Owned by Scout at 10/20 after I misclick :(
   Joeingram1, October 12

Just finished playing for the day up about 3k in 100 hands when Scout decided to start loading up new tables and I got on some wait lists. I finally got sat at one of his 10/20 full ring tables and was 1 tabling it while watching some other games. Somehow while doing this I make my first fkn misclick of the year and lose the 4k flip

Epic Session! 15k swing, 20BI at nl600!!
   Joeingram1, October 10

So last night/this morning I probably played one of my sickest sessions ever in poker. Got to my place last night and loaded up some 5/10 and 10/20 games. I did not run very well in these games and quickly was down like 4kish, I kept on the grind but things were just not going my way and pretty soon I was down like 9kish, then the best player on stars supfoolio AA vs QQ'd me at 10/20 after 3betting me a bunch on all our tables and I decided I better stop playing 10/20. I was down around 11kish at this point and wasn't sure if I wanted to quit or keep at it, eventually I was stuck around 14.1k and started looking for some 3/6 games to play.

I closed down all my remaining 5/10 games I had open and my last 10/20 table where I had a 5.5k stack on and played a mix of 3/6 6m/fr and some 2/4 6m/fr. I really had no plan for what i was trying to accomplish by dropping down and continuing to play, I actually bought the 4k fpp bonus because I really couldn't run any worse, so I was not worried about the FPP Bonus Doomswitch. I never thought I would be able to actually chase losses by playing 3/6 but a bunch of hours later I had done it! 14k down was erased and I was finally up for the session. It sure was challenging playing all the nl600 6m games, and some of the full ring games while starting tables and playing a bunch of HU/SH but I was able to do well. Although I sucked at nl400

It was my first 10k hand session in a while and felt really good. Was an amazing feeling to actually get back to even and ship 20BI at nl600! I need sleep now though, need to play more tomorrow lol

20k Mth, 10k Swings, 5/10+, Live Poker TR, MOVING!
   Joeingram1, October 09

Okay time for my first official blog post in a long time on here! Thanks for reading and following the blog, hopefully I will be able to update more often with graphs and interesting hands on my quest to rise thru the stakes and play 500/1k with Phil Ivey lol.

For those who missed my 30/30 Dating Challenge thread on 2+2, I am sorry. It was basically a challenge I made for myself where the goal was to go on 30 dates in 30 days with women. I would update the thread with trip reports from each date with pics and write about the sexcapades that went down. It was a hugely popular thread and they even talked about it on the 2+2 Pokercast! its a few minutes in

Some of the highlights included, me leaving an asian girl at the beach in chicago, going to a concert with random blonde girl, end up falling for bulgarian girl and eventually go to a Pink concert with her before it all falls apart, sex up random black girl, hispanic girl, white girl with kid, etc..
Eventually someone got upset about my exploits and sent messages out to most of the girls on my facebook friends list about the dating thread and how I am writing about it all and other means choice words. I had to get the thread deleted because I really didn't want a bunch of people I know IRL reading about it but while it was there, the thread was AMAZING!

I am actually moving to La Jolla in San Diego later this month with small stakes player Dashornman and I look foward to picking up where my 30/30 challenge left off as I attempt to conquer the women of SD!! Stay Tuned for updates on this!! If anyone lives out there let me know!

I wrote up a trip report from my live poker session I played the other night, you can read that here if you would like

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/...ast-visit-shoe-lovely-hammond-603862/

I am still planning to do my 1 Million Hands in 1 Month at 6max prop bet in January. I decided to do it then for a few reasons. First, I won't reach SNE this year so I figure this will give me a good head start next year, also many of the regs won't be grinding for milestones/be at pca/taking time off/etc so games should be a little easier. Doing it in January also allows me to build up my bankroll some more and get maximum action on the prop (hoping for 60k+). I am actually very excited to attempt this and think it will be a real challenge for me! I am just worried that my recent high stakes playing with playing less tables will affect my ability/desire to grind nl100 for 15 hours a day for a month straight. We will see!

As far as poker goes, here's how September went for me. I started off making a few prop bets that I needed to play 300k hands, but before I went nuts on that I decided to start taking some shots at 5/10 6m/fr games that looked good. I started off doing well and was up around 10k before having a bad session and losing 6kish. I grinded back at lower for a few days and then decided to start shot taking more. I ran well/played well and ended up with my biggest poker month yet. I played some random 25/50, 10/20 also along the way and here are some of the fun HH's

Throw in a few set over sets in my favor/against, a few overbets that worked, me losing a bunch with AA aipf and here are my results for the month

+4.5k rakeback
+1k plo

Naturally I was feeling pretty good about the month and as October started I figured I would try the same things and see what happened. The first session went well but then I had a glorious -10k day with me running bad, trying to bluff Anksy off AA (featured in a deucescracked video), trying to make a play on Kingofcards after he lost alot to PA headsup. I was pretty sad after it all happened and decided to go back and play nl100 later that night and had a +21BI session. Then the next 2 sessions at nl100 I lost 20 and 15BI respectively and was all confused and shit and decided i hated full ring. The next day I started 24 tabling 1/2 6max, made 1k, got some confidence back and started taking 3/6 5/10 10/20 shots. The results since then have gone great and I have rebounded from being -12k to now up 2k for the month. Also I am FINALLY out of the negative on the God Almighty PokerTableRatings site much to the chagrin of all my PTR comment fans.

Graph for the month so far

Some fun hands from the month

Some fun hands for sure! Some ask why I am playing so high and do I think I have an edge and am I fucking nuts? Yes I am nuts, I think I have an edge over awful fish players and because nl100/200 just doesn't excite me anymore. I want to feel the heart beating and 2k/4k pots get me excited to play poker again and I can actually play normal there. Compared to when I play nl100 and just go nuts and 3bet every hand and call every 4bet with atc. My overall results have been good so far but we will see what happens, I might make 50k, I might lose 20k, I would say its 50/50 either way but hopefully I will be able to take some 25/50 shots soon, I have to clear the 4k fpp and purchase my 5k milestone bonus and maybe with that monies I will take a 9k shot.

Besides all of that fun stuff, life has been going well and have been back in the gym everyday in preparition of the beaches in San Diego! Can't wait to get out there and enjoy nice weather/women all the time! Time go to sleep but thanks for reading the blog!!

Video
   ToT)MidiaN(, October 07

Hello again~ I just finished adding audio and producing the first part of the 200NL video I recorded a week and a half ago, here is the link:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A488JHD2

Listening over some of the commentary there are parts I'd like to expand more upon but time constraints stop me from talking about everything I want to. When I'm posting a reply in a thread I sit there typing for like 15 minutes just for 1 hand so I often times make long posts with almost all of my thoughts on the matter, however in this video I'm trying to cram my thoughts into as little time as possible.

For instance on the KQ call preflop at 8:20 or so I said I would like to 3bet rather than call in that spot sometimes and I didn't fully explain. With youthoughtwrong in the pot, 3betting and driving him out would be pretty bad when I know how bad he is, how wide he's going to be overcalling there and how much top pair good kicker is worth against him. However if the situation was different and the button open limps a lot but either folds a lot pre or plays reasonably post to the point where I think it's more profitable to squeeze the money out of the original raiser preflop (Who would have to be raising wider than CasualCay was in that spot) than trying to flop a top pair and extracting vs the donk in a 3 way pot, then I would prefer to raise there than call. I guess with a suited KQ I would basically always call in that spot having position on the raiser and getting it 3 way with a donk in there, but KQo doesn't play that well multiway, though it's perfectly good here against youthroughtwrong who, as you saw in this hand was limp/calling Q5o and sucking on huge cockbags.

With that being said, even now I don't agree with everything I said in the video and I definitely didn't say all I wanted to, so feel free to post any comments or questions on any hands where I wasn't clear or if you didn't agree with what I said. I haven't done this very often but I wouldn't mind to make more videos in the future and have thought about getting into coaching multiple times, but never quite did it so any criticism is welcomed.

I got my body composition tested at the gym yesterday and I've lost 1.6kg of fat and lost 0.1kg of muscle in the last month. I've gone from 74.7kg with 23.6% body fat to 72.8kg with 22% body fat. This represents much slower progress than I was hoping for, I was hoping for a small gain in muscle and a bigger loss of fat. I know it's difficult to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, but I know it's possible, especially in beginners, which is basically what I am but I must be going about it wrong. I think diet is still the main problem and I'm having huge difficulties getting a routine down. I'm skipping breakfast a lot, only eating like 4 times a day and the meals are too low in protein. I'm hoping that in the next month I'll be able to get my act together and speed up my progress.

Poker results this month have been poor, mainly because the month started off just how the last one ended - running WAY below EV and getting cack all over my face. After losing 16k in 2 days (30th Sept + 1st Oct) I decided to play some 200NL and 100NL and I've been playing a lot of those limits. I've been running below EV there also, but winning at least. I've tightened up my play preflop, mostly UTG and UTG+1 where I was definitely raising too wide in the past. I feel good about how I've been playing at 100NL and 200NL even though in the past when I played there I've been unable to take it seriously, and there have been signs of that from time to time this month also, but by and large I feel that I've been playing reasonably well.

Here are stats for the month:

I'm happy with how many hands I'm getting in at least, usually 20k is more than I play in a month. I'm enjoying the game and feeling like I am making some progress even though results aren't following just yet. I'm probably going to continue to stick around at 100NL and 200NL for a while and then move back up to 600NL, 1kNL again. I feel like this is something I never did in the past, partly because last year I didn't go through many downswings, but it's definitely necessary to take a step back when things are not going your way and I'd rather play 200NL or whatever than not play at all. Need to play to improve and running away and not playing at all does not solve anything.

Time to go watch the first 2 episodes of the new Dexter series and eat. Enjoy~

Blog is back!! Have a video coming out! 20k/mth!
   Joeingram1, October 07

Just wanted to let everyone that follows the blog know that I am coming back to the blog world.

I will write a full update tomorrow of the past few months and post alot of 5/10 and 10/20 hands I have played. I was lucky enough to be owned in the very first hand of Ansky's recent DC video also, always exciting, I have Q10ss in the hand

http://www.deucescracked.com/videos/1...ths,_2_Million/1165-Ansky_Episode_Two

I also made an NL100 fr video with a bunch of shorthanded play also for the people of 2+2 which focused on 3betting people, I think I ran about 48/41 with 40 percent 3bet so was playing my usual nit game. The video is being processed right now by Split from 2p2 and will be up on his site tomorrow!

Had a little over 20k month last month and finally got out of the negative on tableratings site which is a big goal of mine actually lol but I started this month down 12k but have rebounded. Graphs to come tomorrow!

Just wanted to say hi again to all!

Comic help
   SakiSaki, October 04

Hey lp im trying to find a site full of hilarious comics (no its not cyanide and happiness)

Im pretty sure there was a thread about the comics on this site way back. I distictively remember one where this little stickman stands before a huge deamon like thing and the dialogue goes something like

-what are you doing here human?

- I got lost on my way to the kitchen

- You ended up in the 7th plane of torment on your way to the kitchen?

- I am not a clever man

Or something like that. I know the description sucks but hopefully someone can help me. Just spam sites for me plz

September
   ToT)MidiaN(, September 30

Before today I was up 10.6k for the month, this morning I loaded up 6 tables, some Stars some FTP and began to play. Things started off bad right off the bat. I ended up playing the longest session of the month, and possibly of the year for me, getting in 3813 hands and playing about 7.5 hours without a break. I ended down 7.6k, almost 8k below EV. Whenever I coolered someone they sucked out, I managed to lose KK v TT on KJT in 3bet pot, AA v QQ AIPF, AA v KK AIPF, 88 v 34 on 763 in 4bet pot vs some super retard maniac, TT v JJ against a 39/39 with 40% 3bet and 0% fold to 3bet, 0% fold to 4bet. Lost tons of other suckouts, flips, coolers and didn't manage to get there with barely any of my draws.

Here are some stats of the month:

The only good things I can take from this are that I "should" be up a lot for the month and that I put in more volume than I have in a long time. Just sucks that I'm running like dog crap.

update + birthday
   longple, September 28

birthday today, 21 years old, hurray me!

gonna go out with some friends tonight, eat some good shiet and drink lots of beers! gonna be awzumm

anyways, poker has been best to date this month for me too, as ive spammed my blog with updates this whole month some of u might get tired of it, but w/e!

5k hands to go to reach my goal, im sure ill make it just fine these last 2 days.

100nl has been a blast so far, regs are bad, fish are bad, i run pretty good. so, it has just been gr8.

took a small 200nl shot 2 tabling for some hours, it went well imo, i felt that i competed well with the regs, mostly it was 3-4 handed in the games i played. ran into some gay runners and stuff, but its all good.

Im defenetely starting next month with 100nl too, build roll, get comfortable, also 10k hand sample is pretty small.

then again, i was able to beat 100nl last winter for about 30k hands so it shouldnt just be this sick heater and that ill be a loser at 100nl. that i deff think not.

Thanks and gl guys!

happy birthday song, epic

Progress
   ToT)MidiaN(, September 27

Hi there! Poker seems to be going well just lately. I just finished up my 2nd session of the day, finishing up about 2.6k, and I won about 400 or so in the first session despite being down about 6k and semi-tilted not long into the session. I've played about 2.6k hands in the last couple of days which is quite a lot for me and the swings have been pretty wild. I've not been doing well in terms of All in EV, worst of it was probably losing a 420bb pot AA vs QQ all in preflop against a fish who 4bet to 60big blinds and tanked before calling the shove, but I've still been having reasonable results as of late which is a good sign.

I'm beginning to enjoy poker once again, and it certainly helps that I'm bored of pretty much every game I own right now. StarCraft, WoW, Diablo2, some PS3 games, all of them are boring to me now and right now I'm playing poker with focus, I'm thinking about each situation more clearly than I have in pretty much anytime in the past year and it feels great.

Here are the stats and graph thus far for the month:

As you can see there are a few 200NL hands, that's because I made a 50 minute 4 tabling video on FTP. Currently I haven't added sound to it though so I probably won't be releasing it for a while but I've talked about releasing a video a few times in previous blogs in the past and never got around to it for whatever reason, but finally I've got one recorded, I just need to record audio over the top. Whenever I tried making them in the past I tried to do live audio with 4 tables and it was just too much action to talk about so now that I can actually record over the top, pause the video and talk about situations it should turn out pretty well when I get around to doing it.

Outside of poker I've pretty much been a hermit in the last month or so. Apart from my birthday on the 8th, a friends birthday a few days after that and going to watch K1 WGP Seoul yesterday I've done nothing but workout, poker, eat and sleep. I'm perfectly happy with that though as playing as much poker as possible and getting fitter are my main ambitions right now. I have missed a few days at the gym here and there, particularly on weekends or days when my girlfriend doesn't work, and we end up going into couch potato mode. I feel like I have definitely made a little bit of progress at the gym though, I feel like I've lost a little bit of fat and my cardio ability has improved a fair bit. In terms of size and strength I can't see any noticable gains, but I'm ok with that because the main focuses right now are fat loss and endurance. I haven't got my body composition retested because it hasn't quite been 1 month just yet but in a week or so I'll get that rechecked and have some numbers to compare myself then with myself 1 month ago and hopefully see that decent progress is being made numerically.

Time for some food now, hopefully next blog post I'll have that video done and uploaded and hopefully some continued success to report.
